yes I have the similar type of problem. whenever I come to know about any disease of my friend or relative , I unintentionally try to correlate the same with me which makes the situation worse. Even as you discussed I search in Google and try to find the similarity and become panicky.I try to give up this habit but this has become a compulsory disorder.
Try to stay away from this negative thinking and stop searching any symptoms on Google. It will worsern your situation because I have experience of this. Stay relaxed and try to deviate your attention to other things like playing, riding, reading, going outside or talking with friends or you can watch movie etc.
