She had never piano lessons, she can't read music notes. She plays everything by ear and feeling. She never has vocal coaching. She always wanted to write songs.
By the way, the war paint that Aurora wears on her face has significance. Under the eye stands for tears, next to the eye for laugh lines. Showing the inner emotion to the outside.
You should also check out Aurora's "Queendom" official music video.
A song for all minorities and introverts. The song that probably best describes what Aurora stands for. And also very courageous. Courage is perhaps the wrong word for her here. In this case, free is the better word.
That arrangement is pure magic. And it's so lovely to see a real music lover and skilled music person getting surprised like that.😁 And rightfully so. It's just awesome and utterly delightful. Loved that reaction.😁
Thank you so much! 😊😊😊
Pure magic. I wanted to write the very same thing when I saw your comment 👍
She also sings "Are you gonna change my world/Are you gonna save my world" at the end 🤩
Wow! 🥺 love that.
this is why we play and listen to music...."Jai Guru Deva ---- Om" is a Sanskrit mantra to raise one's consciousness
I am a person that brings home problems from work, and can't sleep when I go to bed... Aurora's music pulls me in so I forget everything else, so I made a playlist with Aurora songs to help me "delete the work thinking"... And this performance is on the list... I listen to it almost every night...
A great example of the healing properties of music. I fall asleep to a Spotify playlist called “Ambient Relaxation” almost every night.
“Aurora’s music pulls me in…”, -liked that, Runar. It absolutely does 👍
Aurora 🧚 is amazing 😍 and has a mission to save Mother Earth(and all of us)🙂
Yes! 😊😊😊
Wow……
Already in the first few seconds she envelops you in pure magic….
Yeah, that reverb, those divine backing vocals, harmonies, the whole soundscape….
Absolutely loved her Bowie cover, and here again, what an uncanny way to create a cover which almost sounds as if she wrote it herself, or as if it was written for her-!
What I also love is the effortless, stripped down quality of her voice. It’s always ‘less becoming more’.
And then the layering of those two melodies in the end, like an echo… ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks for this one, Jeff, and for introducing me to this song 🙏
That’s what I live about her covers…she does them as if she wrote them! 🤩
@@StrateleStudios yes. What a musician…
Reminds me a bit of what Dirty Loops are doing with their covers, -although in a very different way! 🤣
I introduced this to another reactor. He's a big Beatles fan, and never heard of Aurora. He played the original and Aurora's version back to back, while wearing a Beatles shirt, and he said Aurora's version is better than the original. And he's not one of those people who just pumps up everything. He says what he means.
So yeah, she's kind of special!
I`m quite shure this is a challenge cover given by the Triple J studio when Aurora and her band wisited them to promote one of her own new songs. This she have done before with this studio.
If so, she was given an hour to create and rehearse with her band before it was put on the air. I see she has the songs text in front of her, and this is a sign for it was made on the fly.
Incredible! Wow…and so well done
Okay, that just got me ….. 🥺🥺❤️❤️❤️🌍💚🌱🕊💫🌟✨ ….. nothing more to say here …. but thank you🙏🏼😌.
😃👏😃👏😃😃👏😃👏👏
So delicate. I love this woman
Heartwarming to hear your reaction to a song you have a personal connection with.
I watch this particular cover from Aurora at least once a month, never fails to impress me.
It’s beautiful 🤩
She is brilliant.
There is nothing better than Aurora doing a well written song !
Yes!!!
A big salute to Magnus, Fred(?) and the lovely Silja. I know I've said it before but Aurora is all about the harmony.
I do miss Silja in the line up. but she's doing her own thing and has a song recently released which I've yet to catch up with.
Its always nice to get a bit of piano from Aurora. She's always modest about her ability and is often happy to hand it off. But when it a song she's confident to play its nice to see her playing.
Hearing you laugh as you said "that just made it... even more interesting" was delightful, like you were realizing in real time that someone had managed to find a way to improve upon a Beatles song. Not that the original needed improving, but I think that's what a perfect cover does: finds a way to both respect the original while surprising you at the same time.
Elegantly simple but yet deep. Beautiful layering and harmonics.
So yes!
My favorite artist covering my favorite Beatles song. Heaven
Wonderful reaction! For covers, I would recommend her stunning version of TEARDROP (Massive Attack)! Also WALKING IN THE AIR (Howard Blake cover), from the Nidarosdomen concert!
Thank you! 😊 I’ll check that out!
Great reaction, great song and Aurora is magical as always. I don't think you've done "Teardrop" yet. As far as her covers go, this is my favorite probably. Her voice in this one is angelic. For an original, can I suggest "A Different Kind of Human" at Christines radiofestival? That performance is stellar to say the least and has special significance with Silja's mother passing away just days prior. The song "Mothership" is the sequel to this song and some think "Animal Soul" is the prelude to it. Why not do all three in succession?
Animal soul is so beautiful!!!
Wow…thank you for this comment. I have “Teardrop” on my list so that’s coming soon. 🤩
She is, and they all are, phenomenal live performers! There is an interview somewhere, maybe 'Records in my life' where Aurora talks about the music that she loves... she said something about the album 'Revolver' there, that everybody should hear it If I remember right. This song isn't on that album, though. Other W&Ws may provide details. And: thank you!
Oh wow…”Revolver” is an amazing album!
She mentiones Revolver in "how many questions aurora can answer in 15 seconds"

Absolutely love this version and played it over and over after I found it when it came out.
That surprised me! The harmony was… wow! She’s gonna save our world. How beautiful.
You really made my day!!!!! Thank you so much for doing my request 🙏🙏🙏 This is so incredibly beautiful and magical 💖💖
Yay! I’m glad this made your day! Loved hearing her sing this song 🥰
She is such a special and unique talent.
Simply beautiful yet sublimely elegant and very respectful to the original. Glad it brought fond memories to you my friend.
So glad you enjoyed it my friend! 😊
You really know how to choose the best Aurora tracks... still so many to go! 4 people a keyboard and bass guitar produced sounds from heaven! There is one cover that Aurora and her band had 1 hr to rehearse after being told which song they had to perform (one they didn't know) - God Is Woman (Ariana Grande). What she they do with that is amazing.
Maybe you can do an Aurora extravanganza over a week. 1 song a day. I really appreciate your appreciation of Aurora. :)
Thank you Rosemay! That’s not a bad idea! 😃
I mean... wow, also :)
Didn't know that performance, btw. Merci.
My ear tells me that every vowel and consonant is important in Norwegian and voiced. I think that is why she is so easy to understand in English.
Another great performance showcasing the greatness of who she surrounds herself with to create magic. I would recommend A Different kind of Human from Christines Radio or any other from the set she did there. A great example of not only her but the talented musicians that lift her to another level.
Absolutely beautiful, wander what John Winston would have done if he had the chance to listen and watch this stunning version of his song always think about this. This is such a great song and Aurora nails it, made it hers with such respect and .... what else can I say.... she's a blessing to us all
Hahaha I love that you knew “Winston”! 😃👏👏👏
That's how Mick Jagger calle dhim
@@panchiolarranaga1616 love that! 👏👏👏
I absolutely love this version ❤️
There’s one thing to say about Aurora, she’s a musical genius ❤️🌍🌺
Some of the covers, the ones from P3 Christine live.
She get the song the radio show has chosen, and they got 1 hour to rehearse before singing it live.
“God is a woman” - A. Grande

“Believer” - Imagine Dragons

Both are better than the original 🥰
So cool! Thank you! 😃👏👏👏
Have not heard her version of Believer but yes I agree, her God is a woman is 👌😊
@@StrateleStudios This song was also a challenge from the studio.
Pure bliss listening to ✨☺️✨
Yes 😊😊😊😊😊😊
She is the greatest interpreter of other artists compositions I have ever heard.
This is my favorite cover they've done, and my favorite version of this song. I'd never heard it until hearing this cover, and had to go back and listen to The Beatles versions. Their version is a bit harsh in comparison, whereas this one oozes softness and comfort. Honorable mention to Fiona Apple's version. Fiona sounds a bit like John Lennon, and the music video is awesome! ruclips.net/video/RhMEKiIb86I/видео.html
For Aurora's cover, the music is of course fantastic, and what Aurora and company do better than most is layer in harmonies over her powerful, high, and yet soft and inviting siren-esque voice. I'm curious if Aurora develops the harmonies or leaves it up to the band members, but a recent interview of hers with Sondre Lerche suggests that she's a harmony machine, seeing harmonies where others wouldn't. When I listen to her songs now, I've started to pay closer attention to the harmonies and layering, which are almost always there weaving through her voice, creating a natural, yet otherworldly feel. Probably because so few of us ever spend any real time in the 'silence' of nature. The harmonies are like wind weaving its way through the sounds of the leaves and branches.
There is something very interesting about her voice, tone, and inflection that makes it easy to harmonize with. Her voice just always seems to break through all of the other instruments and voices in the background, shining the proverbial spotlight on it and her. Deep voices and high voices all seem to go well with hers, while her voice maintains that crystal clarity. Maybe it's partially the sound engineering?
For Aurora's live performances, I think the visual experience is always important to mention as well. Whether it's her outfits, her makeup, her facial expressions, her arm movements, her dancing and swaying. The more I watch her, the more I realize how masterfully she uses sight to generate an empathetic response in her audience, demanding viewers full attention on her, almost demanding they put on her shoes... or dresses when absent shoes. 🤣 I'm not sure whether she's setting up for this empathetic response intentionally or if it's just a natural reaction to her in general, but it's good stuff.
The room is red, and she's wearing bright pink / purple / orange? dress, almost blending in a bit with the background, but the outfit is unique enough to stand out. It makes her seem at home in the environment, a part of it. Then there's her pale skin and bright blond hair, making her face and hands standout from the background, allowing you to concentrate on their movement. The bright pink makeup highlights the brightness and whiteness of her eyes and you can see clearly when she glances to the side or straight at you. Side note, her outfit and makeup reminds me of Hisoka from Hunter X Hunter (anime). Probably not intentional, but kind of funny. ruclips.net/video/wFSDpj_rTHM/видео.html This character is the bad guy (usually) and is a terrible person in general. ;) But he's hypnotic, a lot like Aurora. Welcome to anime.
But going further into the visual, she literally looks like a porcelain doll with eyes that can move around. Her eyes looks like some African cultures where they paint their faces a bright white or yellow and open their eyes wide and exaggerate their eye movements: ruclips.net/video/y-DVyZWyxSQ/видео.html
Her movement and style also reminds me a bit of Indian dancers: ruclips.net/video/JWhA3ldZcyY/видео.html
I love, love, love your comment. Thank you for gracing my channel with your words! 🎉🎊🤝👏
Not that we need it when Aurora and her folks are on the mic(the way they arranged and performed this was nothing short of wonderful and absolutely captivating), but I just gotta say, your joy in hearing this is contagious, man. Seeing your appreciation in the moment made my smile that much wider. Liked this one a lot. Enjoy your day.
Thank you John! 😊😊😊🫶
Love it!!!!
You wondered how she makes the selection of which songs to cover. Well, many covers are not selected. For example, when she visits the P3 radio show to sing one of her own songs, she is challenged to create a cover of another song in 30-45 minutes. But they are phenomenal as well. Try Rasputin (yes the disco song), God is a woman (she doesn't like Ariane Grande), or Believer. Not sure about this Beatles song. It's just this one recording I think. Other covers are chosen. Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, David Bowie, etc
Thanks Jos! 😃
Like a Version, the show she is on here, has a similar challenge for the musicians as P3 in Norway. She did not choose the cover song, it was a surprise.
tbh I put aurora and the beatles in the same tier, so It's very fitting for her to have done this song :)
How beautiful 😍 😍😍
Oooh! Loved this! I hope you do the whole documentary…it’s a really great insight into Aurora as a person. Thanks for this reaction.
😃👏👏👏
I realized I forgot to specify which documentary in my comment. You mentioned reacting to her concert out in the forest but there’s actually a whole documentary that leads up to it that if you watch that first everything that happens at the concert will be that much more cool for you… and by extension for us to watch. :p
@@sapphosmuse1243 oh ya for sure! I know about that documentary and would love to react to that beforehand! 😃👏👏😃
@@StrateleStudios I just want to add that HAIK is not a documentary per se, but a series in which Christine Dancke honour norwegian artists by taking them on road trip with surprises, and ending the day with a concert at a surprise location. (Haik is norwegian for hitchhiking) . When they drive around between the different events they talk about who they are, what inspires them and so on.
Are you gonna save my world ❤ ...
Wooooow
Really enjoyed your reaction on this. I think you got a little emotional there.👏
Who me? Uh no…I had something in my eye and I was cutting onions right before 🤣😉
There is a version from Laibah....end of 80es.....never hear enething beter....but sure, taste we have not the same
I have a suggestion for a reaction to another phenomenal Norwegian singer. Her name is Angelina Jordan. A true prodigy. Check out her performance at age 13 of Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' on America's Got Talent (AGT) - Champions edition, broadcast January 2020. She won the Norway version of that show at age 7 singing jazz compositions. Here's the link to the AGT performance: a masterpiece.

too Crystal clear hearing popping sounds and stuff not fun for my ears
