Fixing DFPlayer Mini with no sound

- My DFPlayer Mini module arrived from China as it did not produced any sound on the output. I'm getting tired lately with the quality problems of cheep modules, so this time I did not asked for refund, instead was suspecting a soldering problem. And I was right.
I also measured the current draw [1:56], and discovered the speaker polarity [2:25].

You saved me 2 months of waiting, half an hour of soldering, and you brought a smile to my face! Thanks!
Thank you SO MUCH for this video. Spend a few hours watching others and reading manuals and it wasn't starting! until i saw your video
Excellent piece of information in your video !
Thank you so much i was look for help for 1-2 months now.
very helpful tips. i just encounter the same situation as yours.
You're a lifesaver. Thank you ^^
Thank you SO MUCH for this video
There is no response from my module when I apply Level 0 at pin 9. Is it related to the standby mode? Thanks in Advance
Thanks man i was so close on scrating my eyes out.
You save my fucking live! Thank you so much!
Hello, I am setting up a project that is a plug-in keyboard, (a toy), where the child will put the letters and a led will light and play an audio speaking letters (A, B, C ...).
So I am using MEGA arduino, and the DFPlayer Mini board for this project, besides 26 green LEDs, everything is working fine.
The contacts fit leds and even the audio. But the audio goes into a loop, and I would like the audio of each letter to be played only once.
How can I be solving this?
I'm sure it's something about my code that is attached here.
So how do I disable looping using DFPlayer mini ????
I had that problem when the code was looking for the input in each run of the program loop. Fixed it by using the state change detection sketch to get it to play once per activation.
I connected an 8 ohm 1w speaker to it and the sound is barely there. Do you think doing this same thing to my module will work and make it louder?
All what I can say is that the speakers should be connected to the pins 6 and 8. Did you tried to crank up the volume?
congratulations on the video!
I have a doubt, I did the whole circuit and everything works fine, I've been feeding it with a cell phone charger ...
Now, I tried to feed it with 3 AA batteries of 1.5V in series, but nothing happens, it seems that the circuit is not energized,
Well my plan is to make it work only with disposable batteries ..
I would be grateful if you would help me solve this problem ... thanks in advance.
*Молодец, все понятно модуль многофункциональный*
is the speaker on the left or right audio track?
Good question. The amplified output in the module is mono. Not sure tho, that one channel is just lost, or the L/R channels are mixed into one. It might also happen, that the specs are wrong in this, and SPK_1 and SPK_2 outputs are actually the L/R channels, when connected to the ground. Consult reprage.com/post/dfplayer-mini-cheat-sheet
thanks but this trick is just like standalone player and still can't control through arduino (module isn't detected) :(
Yeap, exactly this - couldn't see anything obviously wrong under the microscope, but this indeed fixes it.
Hell no i try this!My module is not working as well
Thanx for sharing this video. I bought this module yesterday but I haven't managed to make it work. I followed all isntructions and I have this annoying buzzing noise.
In fact, I don't know why if I conect only + and - from a 5v 500ma phone charger, mp3 module LED turns on.
Is my module broken or something? What am I doing wrong. Thanx in advice.
does the module work without renaming the file to 0001... etc?
You can put your mp3 files in sub-folders or to the root (or mixed) with any kind of file name. The 0001... numbering is for the indexing option of the serial interface.
Well, I just want some basic serial commands (play/pause, next, previous get song metadata, etc). I guess I don't really need indexing for that kind of stuff, right ?
I'm afraid you will not be able to collect metadata.
0x4B Queries the current track of TF card
That's what I found in a datasheet
Is there any other reason why I couldn't collect a track's metadata?
Sorry. My wrong.
My dfplayer gets hot I don't know why, my speaker is 0.5 w 8 ohms
Thanks! I rewrite code 5 times ))) but there is no error....
Good job! Can we be friends... 😁
