detail to notice, in the original game, only the guitar played the melody because meloetta has forgotten the relic song, but in this game meloetta herself sings the relic song... meaning that this meloetta is the same one from the event in the original games!

I'm gonna CRY My Meloetta in my original copy of BW2 Meant so much to me-I hope you don't mind me spinning a bit of a story here. But I was like-10 years old, and I was excited 'cause this new pokemon looked so beautiful and I loved her-but she wouldn't listen to me. I hadn't worked out the gym badges thing so I just thought she hated me-so I spent SO Much time and effort in join avenue and anywhere I could Trying to max out her friendship so she'd like me. Fast Forward to Elesa's gym, the very same for the badge I needed for her to finally listen to me (Not that I had known) and I was having a HORRIBLE time-She was my last pokemon left, and somehow-she REFUSED to go down. and On One HP, she took down Zebstrika and won me the badge and had been one of my aces ever since. I adored her, and I was CRUSHED when-on a trip to Canada, I LOST the gamecard she was on, never to see her or my team again. ...Until now. To think this could be the same Meloetta-MY Meloetta-man, I just wanna BAWL. Thank you So much!
@@Geekwithapencil2048 God I can relate to this comment so much, I felt the exact same way with the mystery gift Darkrai from the last trailer. He's always been my favourite mythical and one of my overall favourite mons, but the only one I had back then was hacked and got stuck in my White cartridge which I lost at some point. To finally get a favourite of yours back after so many years is a beautiful feeling.

I can agree with that but if they really have to, they can at least add some events tied to them like they already did.
So far we have Deoxys, Keldeo, Celebi, and Meloetta as events in game. (Mew and Jirachi being from BDSP for having SWSH and LGPE Save Data, as well as Manaphy and Darkrai from BDSP Save Data in Arceus)

It was so wild watching this develop in real time, from "We know there's a Meloetta encounter but have no idea how to trigger it" to step-by-step guides to encountering it. Feels like the good ol' days, doesn't it?

Funny that a lot of guides actually overdo it. For example, the Castelia track at the club is not a requirement. And multiple sources say up to 20 seconds of spin while I just took 10 or so

Indigo Disk truly was a love letter to Unova fans
I wonder if its just an appetizer to something larger or not. There's dialogue hinting at Larry being a representative at a competition in a well known region (Most likely the PWT), and then on top of that we have two new characters who are directly related to gym leaders from Unova that we could possibly see more of in the future.
And a tease for a remake❤❤

In the original gen 5 Relic Song it was kinda unclear if Meloetta actually was singing, it transforms right when the flute melody comes in so it’s possible that the flute was its singing
But I’m happy that now we can know for sure that it is in fact singing, and it still remembers the Relic Song from all that time ago :)

I like how a guitar is always there in both Masters EX's version and here. Even in the years long gone, Meloetta remembers the guitarist that brought back her melody.

I never experienced the event in Gen 5, so I don't have the same nostalgia for it that a lot of other Unova fans have. But somehow this still made me tear up.
For the first time, I can catch a meloetta in a friend ball because she’s a friend.
It seems that I wasn’t the only one who did this
I put her in a luxury ball so she can be comfortable and happy
I opted not to catch her at all. I have a Meloetta or two in my HOME, and I sure could add this one as well, but then I won't be able to come back to listen to her sing her little heart out.

Normally I don't use Legendaries or Mythicals... but Meloetta was an exception. For my favourite Mythical Pokemon, I knew I had to use it on my team the moment the method to capture it was discovered.
Me too! I was already using Ogerpon ‘cause of its connection with Kieran, but I knew Meloetta also had to have a spot on my team. I’m so happy to finally be using her!
My own Dusclops OC has a friend who's a Meloetta named Annabella, so because of that, I named the Meloetta I caught Annabella

I didn't expect that Meloetta was going to be singing its Relic Song. Meloetta had such awesome events, first in fifth gen with how to teach it Relic Song and now this.
I noticed in the BW event, it was just a dude playing the Relic song while Meloetta dances around
But in Indigo disk, it was Meloetta herself singing the Relic Song.
I miss events like these so much im glad Gamefreak brought these kind of things back lately (no fr this is some spongebob bubble blowing level of complication lol)
When I hared this song for the first time in 11 years snice BW2 came out, I felt a huge wave of nostalgia hit me like a truck. I love this so much snice Meloetta is one of favorite Mythical Pokémon along with Mew and others. And I love Gen 5 also.

Meloetta is probably my favorite Pokémon in the whole franchise, and was my primary reason for getting the DLC. I just finished the stories of both parts, and I had Meloetta by my side the whole time. It was genuinely so gratifying watching our friendship strengthen over the course of the game, and I couldn’t ask for a better companion💚
Meloetta is the only pokemon in this game I felt was worthy of the Master Ball, so after figuring out where to go to get her, I used it immediately after letting her sing once in battle. Such a cool mythical

I'm so glad that they finally got to sing Relic Song. Meloetta has always been one of my favorite pokémon, and actually hearing their voice in the song is incredible.
Back when Sun & Moon were still new, I went through the trouble of hatching a shiny Charmander for my ex gf, who loved Charizard a lot. Things didn't exactly pan out and I was never able to gift her that Charizard. Years later, I wound up breaking up with her and now that Charizard still sits in a box because I wouldn't feel right releasing it or giving it to someone random due to the sentimental value behind it. Today (the 20th of February for those reading this in the future) is my birthday and I was able to catch Meloetta in Violet, so I suppose that's a gift to myself. While shiny hunting for Charizard is something I want to forget, catching Meloetta on this day on the other hand is something I want to always remember.
Tl;dr Doing nice things for others is great, but sometimes you deserve to treat yourself to nice things, too.

In BW you got an event Meloetta, and in a city named Castelia city is a bar with a guitarrist, that guitarrist is able to teach Meloetta the signature move Relic Song, and it does it in a beautiful way. While playing in the song in a guitar Meloetta comes out of the pokémon and dances around with the song, and in BW2 things are better because during the same cinematic Meloetta changes its form. But the event now, just by hearing the Relic Song made me tear up so badly.
I played BW and never heard that song either since I never had the event Meloetta
My jaw dropped when I heard this little cutie had been added into the DLC as well from a friend who found out from one of AustinJohnPlays’ videos.
I never got to own one of these back in the day, so I was happy to get her as soon as I knew where to find her.

Took me about an hour to catch them in a love ball.
Took even longer to get a love ball, but it's all worth it in the end for my favorite pokemon.
I never played the original game, but seeing the clip of how Meloetta is unlocked in this game and the phrase "Sepia-colored memories" combined with how somber the song itself sounds, I cannot help but shed a tear
I just realized this is the same Meloetta from the event, it knows the relic song, even though in the original game, only the guitar played the melody. So it’s still the same one, also, its song is beautiful.
This theme actually gives me the chills it’s just so elegant
I couldn't bring myself to catch her.
I mean, when I finally figured out that surprisingly tricky secret and found her at last...I just kinda stood there listening to her for a good 5 minutes. She sways perfectly to the song, and just...looks so at peace. Who am I to rough her up, catch her in a ball and ruin that serenity? It felt wrong!!
So there she sways, singing in that field invisible to all except me. One day will I catch her? Honestly...I don't know.
(I really wish I could ask her if she's cool with coming along with me though.)
If you haven't caught her yet, what you could do is try to chuck a pokeball at her once a day at full health - and a ball with no increased catch rate. Then, when she stays in, you'll know it's because she's ready to adventure with you :)

It made me cry when I first heard it. It's like reuniting with a old friend. I remember sweeping through White 2 with the Spring 2013 Meloetta.
I refuse to catch the Meloetta in Coastal Biome. Mostly because I already have one, but also because I just like to come back and visit it, and let it sing away with no worries in the world. It's just pleasant.

Yes but the difference is that there were obvious instructions albeit in braille. There was a hint here too but most people probably wouldn't have known about it or brushed it off as strange dialogue.

I learned to play this song on the piano but i just cant get the medieval feel of rhe song right-
I am a bit late, but I wanted to share some tips that could perhaps be useful. The medieval feel could very much be a sound thing, but what helps me is playing broken chords (a chord where the notes are not all played at the same time, but (quickly) after each other, mostly down to up) with my left hand and the melody with my right. Another option could be following the guitar notes in the song, so at first quick left hand arpeggio's (mostly following the notes that belong to the chords) and broken chords in the 'chorus' part of the song.
