so many thanks for this video. I didn't understand how to play it. Now it's clear : I need a third hand.
Yes....and the same is true with The Plan, and How Could You Lose Me. (three hands required!) I can play two-hand versions of these pieces, but they wouldn’t sound exactly as how Dave Grusin played them. He would have needed to multitrack the third part (unless he has three hands, lol) Luckily Memphis Stomp and Rays Blues can be played with two hands though, and they are both excellent fun to learn! Waaait! I have been searching for a kind of tutorial for this for YEARS now and then today i search again and found this..a four year old video. Like wtf?!
Haha, well I’ll glad you found what you’ve been looking for after all this time! I actually had a solo piano version of this on the go since the 1990’s, but of course this piece is really a piano duet due to the multiple parts. Dave Grusin must have multitracked the top part after recording the main section. Enjoy!
