I train at a no gi gym, today they actually started doing gi one week a month to get people used to both. People don't realize how many different submissions there are. Also, there's fun guards to play in each. Spider, Lasso Guard, De La Riva, Rubber Guard, Williams Guard, Cross Collar Sleeve Guard, etc...... some things are still pretty similar (Butterfly guard, X guard )

love this video, it's important to train both IMO. If youre at the beach at something goes down and only do gi, youre gonna be lost. It's so much harder getting certain submissions due to someone being slippery in no gi. If youre in the mountains or in a suit, etc like mentioned it's important to realize how much slower you move. Also another thing I think is very true is i like that in gi you cant do heel hoooks, imagine youre at a cowboy bar or in the mountains and someone how snow boots on.... if youre a heelhooker youre gonna be there not knowing what to do.
