  • LOOK WHAT WE FOUND?
MY MOST CLAUSTROPHOBIC AND DANGEROUS MINE EXPLORE, left me breathless at the end.........READY????????????????
I wouldnt advise or encourage ANYONE to attempt what we did as this was the most courageous and dangerous thing we have ever done in all of my Caving. Here we were shown a small hole in our friends backyard on the back side of Table Mountain.
A Train use to go by here as well. We make our way to the cutout indent in the Hill and find a hole about 2 feet wide. This use to be the entrance to the Mine. Lower decades of sediment and you have a 10 foot Mine portal.
We get inside and find a concrete wall holding back perfect clear Water that is atleast 5 feet deep or up to my Chest. The Ceiling is right above me. Now...............do we go in? See how far back it goes? I had very disturbing thoughts on what could happen if were in here and the ceiling collapsed. We would be part of the Mountain indefinitely crushed. My voice vibrated and no signs of any collapse so far, all good to know so we make our way in.
My thought was............I gotta do it, slowly. Friends this isnt for everyone, dont try this on your own. WE WENT IN ATLEAST 3000 FEET until we saw the collapse. There are Stalactites hanging, water dripping and rusted Tracks. My thought was "we need to get going we are way the heck in here". Only a spot of light for our only way out. Watch at your own discretion, i dont encourage anyone doing this, it is what WE DO. Now enjoy seeing from your own Home what lies beneath Table Mountain. Shout out to our friend for showing us the entrance.

So what were they mining for originally? Was it all in one straight shaft? Looks like they could’ve gone in many directions to get more.

There are no drifts just one straight shot, mustve been one long vein, however it did end at the collapse, we wanna find where to get back down inside. Probably Gold too, who knows maybe it goes all the way to downtown. also please share to others, pass it on, see to whats under us.
