    I've watched quite a few DIY scaffolding videos. Most are good. But this is exactly the kind of scaffolding I need for a similar project. I appreciate the useful tips in the comments as well. Great job. Thanks.

    If the joists from the sides and center ledger are only connected to the posts with screws, be aware of the sheer strength of those fasteners; live load from multiple people, tools, and material add up. Consider upgraded fasteners, or add brackets or blocking, maybe jack studs sistered to the posts under the joists like door framing under a header, etc.

      Agree, I should have mentioned that this scaffolding is built more or less just to hold me + some power tools + some few roofing tiles. The screws are quite brittle (compared to nails or brackets).

The roof is SHOT, the facia is SHOT from the leaking and the angles on the 1 to 2 STORY roof are horrendous/Dangerous to crawl on a roof for. This Video gave me the confidence I had back in the 80's to reroof like I did back then! Thank YOU !!! This by far is the BEST!!!

    Great idea, but could you have added an L-bracket to the side of the house on each side to attach the scaffolding to? It's a more permanent solution that could be used as often as you need to get back up there again.

    • @kihestad
      @kihestad  2 месяца назад

      Absolutely possible, but I did not want to have any "trace" of the scaffolding after I was done. Having a lot of sticking out from the wall will not be very pretty 🥴

    Double ha. What a great video. What did you use for the board walk?

    • @kihestad
      @kihestad  2 года назад +1

      Thanks 🙂 It's 15x1500x750 oiled plywood, typically used as panels for concrete formwork. They are not very expensive, and they can handle some rainy days - and even some days with snow 😁

  • @thaifoodtakeaway
    @thaifoodtakeaway Год назад +1

    I'm a bit late to the party, but a great video again from you. One note is that the regulations also require a kick board, which is a board that covers from the base of the walking level and up 15-20cm that will prevent you from accidentally putting your foot out into the air/slipping off the scaffolding. not usually a problem from that height, but not a bad idea to have in any case. Anyway, the cat approved, so you're good to go.
