Well done video. I wish I had watched something like this years ago. I am embarrassed to say that when I first saw the title I thought " What kind of tips can there be for using a ladder". Boy was I wrong. At this point I plan to watch your other videos. I hate to paint but at least you have helped make the task much easier. Kudos to you.
Omg!!! I do mostly interior painting and that inverted ladder is a game changer!! I have Been in construction for over 20 years and never seen this trick! My father in law was a painter for over 40 years and taught me a lot of tricks but even he never thought to invert the ladder in a stairwell!! I will be using this tip from now on!!
I learned a lot of tricks in the paint game over many years of working with different painters. Like the saying, 'Two heads are better than one' for sure. You will certainly find this one very useful. Happy days :) And thanks for commenting
Inverted ladder on stairs, great tip! I never would have never thought of it. But I had seen the need one time that I had to pass over the opportunity to do it.
Just wanted to thank you for putting together such an informative and useful video. I have several upcoming projects; installing a metal roof, as well as house painting, but for now I simply need to lay some tarp in order to keep the rain out. Knowledge is key, and thank you for sharing yours.
Good job, Thanks for taking the time to share its been real helpful and greatly appreciated. They should give a link to your video when purchasing a new ladder!!
They should have this video conebup when you search for “ why does scaffolding cost so much “. So people can see that a lot can be done with just a ladder, wire and a ladder jack
This came up in my utube suggestion. Great video and a pleasure to watch. Beats television anytime. You have demonstrated a great innovation and free thinking inventor type. Painters have used me to do large patch work which is too big for them. Thankyou for your upload.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I knew there must be a way to safely work up high without buying or renting expensive scaffolding. Now I can finally knock out a siding job I've been putting off.
Cool tricks How would you get place a extension ladder replacing a fascia board about 15 ft up? If I lay the ladder against the house it pins the fascia board with the ladder and I can’t get at it to pull it and install the new board
this video is super helpful & so real. thank you for the tips. i guess my only question is do you have links to some of the items used, like the old school ladder jacks & brands you prefer?
It's an aluminium plank, very light weight and I think that one was 4 meters. Plenty around for purchase but they are not cheap. Thanks for the question and commenting :)
!!!! Wow is the word ya got this been lookin for awhile tryin to find someone to build somin for my ladders it don't look hard to make and easy to use thks again for Sharin this ya got my Vote subscribin cause ya make it look easy thks again Farmer
You can't purchase them anymore, illegal. OHS deemed them too dangerous. Had these all my life, works a treat and so much easier to use than the legal ones unfortunately. Happy trails
When leaning an extension ladde against a sheetrock wall, how do you avoid the ladder legs making a hole in the sheetrock wall with the weight of the ladder and yourself against it at about 12' high or so?
I really enjoyed watching your vid, I found it very informative. If it wouldn't be too much trouble could I ask if the chain ladder jacks you used were home made. They would be really useful for a guttering project that I want to undertake. Cheers.
Thanks, I thought health and safety would be involved in it somewhere. What a handy bit of kit to have In your tool kit though. I'll be giving some thought to fabricating a pair to use on quick light jobs. Cheers
Gosh, so many years ago now. This kind of ladder jack is illegal now, but they work so well. No idea where to get them or even if it’s possible now days. Maybe talk to a metal fabricator? Good luck.
Yea, I think they are illegal now. I purchased the ones in the video at least 20 years ago, maybe more. The new ones are a pain in the arse, I won't use them. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks, that was useful stuff...and I do understand about being a "one man band". I had not seen ladder jacks with the chain before...do you prefer them over the fixed Werner short body jacks? They seem to offer better adjustment possibilities? Where can I buy them?
To my understanding, they are illegal these days but sooooooo much more useful and efficient than the fixed. Not sure if you can even purchase them today. Hunt around, you may find them. As a last resort a machinist could easily slap up a pair for you. Good luck
John Terkuile Sorry bout that. Some of my viewers have mentioned watching on a different device works. And fortunately I’ve gotten better at rendering videos these days. 🥳
@@RickBushell1958 thank you. I'll try and watch on a different device. And thanks for all the helpful information. Appreciate it as I'm going to repaint entire inside and outside of my house. Retirement project! Cheers John

Great information
We are planning to install functioning shutters on second story windows. This is genius and will help us stay safe.
Cool tricks
How would you get place a extension ladder replacing a fascia board about 15 ft up?
If I lay the ladder against the house it pins the fascia board with the ladder and I can’t get at it to pull it and install the new board
Use a ladder stand off and set it below the fascia boards.
Thank you. Great tips on ladder jacks.
No worries Bob, and thanks, glad it came in handy for you. :)
Thanks for your tip.
Very helpful, thank you for sharing these tips.
jie zhou no worries, stay safe on your ladders. 🙃

Hi, thanks for all your excellent information. Could you give us information on the plank you are using? Length? Weight? And where you got it?

Nice work Ratch. Can't be too safe. :) Thanks for the comment mate.
Also, where did you get the adjustable chain link ladder jacks?
You can't purchase them anymore, illegal. OHS deemed them too dangerous. Had these all my life, works a treat and so much easier to use than the legal ones unfortunately. Happy trails
A wealth of great tips you can use.
Interested in the plank you used where can I find one
I guess in this case, Google is your friend. I have a handful of aluminium planks and mostly because they are lightweight. Not cheap tho
Excellent video.

You're very welcome Jay Em :)
Thanks for passing on your experience.
Happy you appreciate it Brian, :)
Very good job 👏
clever, you make it look so easy!
I may not ever use ladder jacks and scaffold, but if i did now i will know how to do it safer, or smarter. I like hanging paint can trick too.
What are these style ladder jacks called?? Can’t find them anywhere online. In the US
I think they are illegal now.
Good tips, good video!
Man you are something else,thanks
LOL, thanks mate. One picks up lots of know how from decades in anything tho. :)
Great stuff.
How do you make the ladder jack?
I purchased this set, I believe they are illegal now.
Great stuff but can’t hear a thing from that video, where did the sound go?
Thank you!
When leaning an extension ladde against a sheetrock wall, how do you avoid the ladder legs making a hole in the sheetrock wall with the weight of the ladder and yourself against it at about 12' high or so?
Try wrapping the leg ends with cloth and a bit steeper to have less weight on the wall. :)
I like ypur suggestion of durning the step ladder 1/4 turn and placing a board on the needed atep and then putting your plank board on rop of thak.
Wow. Plank that high up?? Do you tightrope as a side gig?
What's going on with the audio??
Nice, thank you!
I really enjoyed watching your vid, I found it very informative. If it wouldn't be too much trouble could I ask if the chain ladder jacks you used were home made. They would be really useful for a guttering project that I want to undertake. Cheers.
Not home made, purchased many years ago before they became illegal here in Australia.
Thanks, I thought health and safety would be involved in it somewhere. What a handy bit of kit to have In your tool kit though. I'll be giving some thought to fabricating a pair to use on quick light jobs. Cheers

A real master. Thank you for sharing your valuable tips.
You're welcome jie zhou :)
where did you get the chain hung ladder jack?
Gosh, so many years ago now. This kind of ladder jack is illegal now, but they work so well. No idea where to get them or even if it’s possible now days. Maybe talk to a metal fabricator? Good luck.
Hello, it seems they don't sell your kind of ladder jacks with a chan any more.

Looked on amazon and ebay for chain type ladder jacks with no luck. Could use detailed info on how to make.... thanks
Hello. I really like the subject but couldn't hear the audio. Is there anything I can do about that?

Thank you for the informative video. I imagine it also makes a great drinking game... every time you hear the word ladder, take a drink!
LOL, just make sure they're not your employees! :)
Cool background.
Rick, Can you tell me what the name of that Chain adjustment Ladder Jack and where to purchase?
Hi Bill, I answered your question on your other comment. Happy days. :)
Thanks again
Good info

There's no sound on this video, now.
What happened to the volume??

@@MarkH10 lol, Those were definitely my early days, much better now. :)
Great!
Thank You, great tips!!! Can you tell me where to get your chain Ladder Jack from?
Hey Bill, not sure you can get them anymore. At least not here in NSW Australia, they were banned as being too dangerous. I found the ones in the video somewhere in Sydney, but no idea where, I just can't remember. The good thing is they can be made. pm me through my facebook page: facebook.com/InvinciblePaintingBasics/ and I will take some pics today and send them to you if you like.
Thank You for letting me know.
Amazing
great!! tx
Audio is messed up.
Best Video
a couple of good tips there for sure. get checked for copd
they banned ladder jacks in the uk like 15-20 years ago can't even get them imported
Invincible audio but I get the idea. Bucket hooks are not that expensive to buy and always rim out your paint bucket..
Thanks
Audio is distorted.
