Building Terminology - Flat roof

This time we are looking at the Flat Roof
Based on the Australian National Building and Plumbing Terms
www.constructi..., these terms may be common to Australia and New Zealand but may have other meanings worldwide.

have seen some interesting rendered designs online with flat roof & what appears to be parapet wall on either side.
I'm having difficulty understanding how it comes together from ceiling upwards when looking at a 2 storey building.
Can you shed some light on this for me or give some practical drawing descriptions etc. Most of these types of videos do not show any drainage solutions.
I have seen some of your other videos & found them extremely valuable resources to get good factual information

Hi Mate, with a parapet wall there is what is essentually a box gutter behingd the wall. There are some details on this webpage.

Personally I have never seen a box gutter that has not leaked or overflowed into the building at some stage and I aviod them at all costs. Hope this helps.
