Hey Gunner. Just watched this video from a couple years ago. You’re understanding of the mechanics of streamer tying is unbelievable! You created an excellent chassis for that hook to carry the buck tail and breathe life into all that material. Beautiful, just beautiful. Many thanks.

    Great ties!!
For your swim tank. Tie your mono to a dowel stick to get your angle right. Love the good work man!

Well buddy the day is getting closer when I can either tie flies ore fish pretty much to my heart's content. I've sold my house, and I'm looking for an RV to live in. I'm not sure it gets any better. Keep the good stuff coming.

Awesome, Thank You, all your instructive videos saves time on the water, knowing the flies are well engineered, and have been proven to work. That instills confidence when you’re on the water.

So good! Your explanations and reasons behind why you do specific things is fantastic! That mono straight idea is brilliant.

Fantastic tutorial. And thanks for the comment on bucktail being unruly right after it's tied. I've tried up a few that looked like angry cats. Thought now way could this make a bait fish profile. Ran them under water and they looked just right.

Another AMAZING tie, brother! I especially loved the tank testing. Hope you continue that! Congratulations on the hook. I am hoping 🙏 that I get some under the tree.

I will definitely have to get me some of those hooks and tie a bunch of patterns with them. Might even try to do a weedless crayfish, frog 🐸, bluegill and salamander/lizard, perhaps even a curly tailed worm. Thanks for sharing Gunnar.

I can't wait to try this. I ordered the stuff for the chosen one. Kind of want to tie this one on the 2/0 for bass and trout.

Nice video! Could you please share a video on your channel where I can found how you put a ratlle on a hook (how you tie them together). Thank you

A little thing I do with the glass rattles is add glitter on to the UV resin then hit it with the light.
A lot of flies that call for mylar tubing over the rattles I use the glitter.

Could you use a Texas style worm hook and maybe use thicker moon (instead of buying a special hook ) ?

Love your vids! I’m half deaf 😂 Forgive me, but @ 3:17, did you say “fast snatch attachment”? I’m asking for my bf, he ties flies, but isn’t cell tech savvy (GenX). He’s learned a lot from you. Could you please, show more closely, explain more in depth, how to make them or where to get them? Thank you! Or if anyone else can help… that would be great!

Superb how-to vid but what I wonder about is why you make a whip finish knot after each stack of bucktail. Is there a specific reason for that? I just apply zap and continue tying. Always eager to learn! Keep up the amazing videos!

It is similar to taking tight wraps forward and then back onto the ramp. It's a way to lock in the tightness of your wraps so they don't loosen when you let go of your bobbin.

Slow down man, I'm just now messing around with the other weedless extension option you have to where it swings freely and forms a weed guard. These are epic ideas for fishing through lay downs and other snaggy areas.

Would that hook work in salt water?

    • @willwailes9298
      @willwailes9298 4 года назад +1

It's black because it's plated with nickel. The saltwater hooks I use most are tin plated. It should be fine, because the plating is still preventing the hook from oxidizing. I'm thinking about tying these up for the salt too.
