I just found your channel and I am so glad. I have been thru so many examples of this Afghan and yours is by far the best. You speak so clearly and your instructions are so easy to follow. Oh, and you are funny. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Wish me look on my first attempt at enterlac crochet. My name is Minney and I am from the great state of TN.
@@ThimbleHooks Tiffamy is my daughter. I was using her phone because she takes mine to work at night because she can only use hers on wifi and she has an hr drive and eaves me hers.
Hi Beth. I'm a little late to the party but just wanted to say what a great instructor you are. This C2C is so much easier than the other entrelac. Forget the knitted one. I'm sitting and watching TV and have not missed a stitch yet! Yeah for me and thank you.
Thank you so much! I finally understand how to do this. I was getting my pieces all messed up on the ends and this is so easy to follow! New subscriber!❤
I’ve been wanting to learn Entrelac (I know how to do Tunisian), but wanted to make a rectangular blanket with each row a different color. I couldn’t find a tutorial. Then, I found you! Thank you so much. Your instructions were very clear.
Wonderful! Thanks for letting me know that Judi! Bethany Here is how to get to my entire Entrelac Playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLt9khymC5a3gAVGiePPb9TaTMqx0-BSfK
my 'normal' chains look horrible, so have gone to long tail KNIT cast on, which gives me a nice edge that is easy to work into for a border, looks nice, and gets my loops on the hook ready to go. love your channel and how you teach!
I am loving the way you are teaching, could you please tell what to and how to do if I just want to use only yarn because it has different colours. Please do show.
On the third row start at the top of the triangle and work two squares across. On the 4th row start on the far right side of the triangle and work 3 squares. Repeat these two rows over and over.
I'm happy I found your video. I was watching someone who I really like but she wasn't showing us how to end the row so I had loops everywhere and coming undone somehow... TFS, I will be a new subscriber 😊
Thank you soo much for your clear instructions, i tried many times, but never got the hang of it. I know already that i will do many many more baby blankets and so on. Thanks from the Netherlands
Hi Anita! I have many more Entrelac episodes on my channel, so check them out as well. I would so love to see the Netherlands. It is on our list... Bedankt voor de vriendelijke woorden! Bethany
WOW! I have watched other vids and yours makes the most sense. Easy to follow instructions. Thank you for sharing. I will definitely be on the lookout for your other videos.
@@ThimbleHooks I have and found so many projects that I need to put on my to do list. I have made so many afghans and shawls over the winter (I give them to a hospice near me). This will be a welcome addition to my collection.
Thank you. I enjoyed this tutorial. I now feel confident to try the Entrelac pattern for a baby blanket. I will use three seperate colors. How does this pattern work up using multicolor yarn?
Could someone please help me. I’m somewhat of a beginner. But I never understood the math portion of the starting of the chain. My friend tried to explain it to me but I still don’t understand you said 11+1 but I want to make a blanket big enough for them to wrap Themselves in kinda like a twin size. So how many chains will I do? Please and thank you.
Hi Dianne! Are you referring to my name? If so, it is the 3rd word I say in every video. I am Beth (Bethany). "Ciao friends! Beth with ThimbleHooks - thanks for stopping by!" And thank you, Dianne, for stopping by! 😉👍
Quick question- I am using Mandala cakes. I’m I correct that for horizontal Entrelac you always start a new row on the right. Just want to make sure as I am not doing rows of different colors, just letting the cake change as I go. Thanks
If I want to make a baby blanket would I just chain the width that I wanted, making sure to use the correct multiples. How will the height come out? I want to have a square blanket when finished. Like the others have said I am glad I found this tutorial as it is the one that makes the most sense to me 🙂
Hi! Use my math in this one for your chaining width: ruclips.net/video/TgI9PPa73us/видео.html Then make rows until you are happy with it's "squareness"...😉😃 Easy Peasy! Hope this helps and makes it easy as promised! Bethany
I love this. 😍 I have a question. How do I figure out how many chains or inches to make if I want to make a twin size blanket since the chains measurement shrinks when you make the squares? Thank you for showing us this 😍
That is trial and error jlee. I have never made a twin size, but I would make a small swatch from my video and then measure and divide by the width (or length) of the blanket size you want, then make that many squares. Bethany
Thimblehooks Can you expand on your explanation for me. I was wanting to make a throw. Say a 50 by 70 throw. How many rows do I need to make in a swatch to do my measurement? I would think 2 and measure the 2nd row. Would that be correct. Then how would I do the math? Can you give an example please. Also I have looked a many videos on this and yours is by far the best one. Thank you for doing this. I am so interested in the reversible entrelac pattern too, but need to get this one down first. Thanks again for your help and time.
The 3rd row would match row 1. Same square count. Make sure you watch that video closely since I can't be there with you - I describe it pretty thoroughly. I just know you can get it! 😀😉
@@ThimbleHooks oh okay, so I pull up loops on top of 1st square of 2nd row and connect to side of 2nd square. And no more chaining. Got it. I think I asked a silly question 🤪 Thank you 🙂

Rebecca, I don't know what you are making and I cannot explain it any better than what my tutorial shows. You can try watching this one, ruclips.net/video/TgI9PPa73us/видео.html but honestly you will just need to try to figure it out since I am not there with you. Hi Judi! The 3rd row is generally the same as row 1, but not exactly. I have all of this in the video - watching it will be much easier than me trying to explain it here. Writing it here just wouldn't express it as well. Thanks for the question! Bethany
