Beautiful work! I’m making a much smaller gasket but the technique will transfer perfectly. The only source of the gasket I need that I can find wants about $50 CAD before taxes and shipping. Going into this I thought I might be spending more like $5… So this seems like a good skill to build.
I'm trying to make a gasket for a tactix storage box to use as a vacuum box to store 3d filament which is hygroscopic. Normally I have success using cling wrap on the box then expanding foam in the lid and lock it down. It's not working so I decided to try silicone using vasoline as a separating agent on the box. I didn't leave it long enough to cure (needs more than 3 days due to depth of cure apparently! Big mess and I suspect I'll be needing to rip it out. I've learned a lot from your video in terms of ideas - thanks :).
Hi, sorry for the slow reply, our new Brewery is well underway and we are very busy at the moment with the new building fit out. Once we get the chance I will out together a follow up video, but it is still working well.
Thank you very much for demonstration.
Coincidently I also need to make a custom gasket for my fermentor :)

what a great idea! i needed a gasket for my espresso machine, which no silicon gasket is available. this will be a fun DIY.
Did it work?
How did it work? I'm here because I've also got a vintage espresso machine that I need a group gasket for
wildly late to the convo but you might be able to find food-grade silicone SHEETS that you might find easier to cut smaller gaskets from :)
thanks for a great idea and video 😊
Thank you.
nice video thanks
Thanks! i will do a large gasket 62 cm in diameter, with your method.👍👍👍
The Amazon link is broken. What is the make and model of the silicone? Or could you post a New link? Thanks
If making a food grade gasket, use beeswax not candle wax.
he is not burn it so its still safe unless you are too puss to eat it, you`ll sick and die easier being too clean and chemical free lol
Well done 👍👍👍
great work
Thank you! Cheers!
This helps allot. Thanks
Your most welcome,

Done like/subs.....
That funny you trust the FDA it's probably fine but that's a bad assumption
lol. That ain't no fermenter....
