There was some considerable work done on that pack, bar graph LEDs on the neutrona wand were nicely done, and finding that ribbon cable is hard as hell to get a hold of. A grand seemed like a fair price, hell even 1500 for that matter, but damn anyone going there should expect a low ball offer first. Aim high and work em down to what you really want, haha.

I remember hearing that they weren't sure how the marshmallow man would go over & were relieved when test audiences loved it ... and I could see that sure, a studio might be concerned that people would see it as hockey or fake or who knows

I am not knocking your techniques, but you can't make a real Proton Pack for $200 unless you are making it out of paper, cardboard, glue, etc. Ours are made form hand laid fiberglass, CNC cut aluminum, a real ALICE pack frame, custom electronics. It takes us about a week to build one of these, and that's by guys who build these for a living, 5 days a week, using real shop tools, large belt sanders, air tools, etc. We have the labels printed by a place that makes all the UV outdoor graphics for police cars. There is no wood, or glue in our packs. They are made of metal, rivets, bolts, nuts, epoxies, hard case high heat resins, etc. Go search youtube for "Bobs Prop Shop Proton Pack" and look at some of the reviews my customers have posted and also our other videos. We are the experts in these and have built and sold more of them than anyone else on Earth.
I think it was more about appearing on Pawn Stars for publicity and spreading the word, than the money. How many times have you been on Pawn Stars since?

Oh my god these rubes got taken by this guy ! That pack is a kit you buy online from a company Macks Factory. The only thing the seller got right is you have to assemble and wire it yourself. Everything the seller described is a lie! Stickers and all parts are included in the kit.
Pawn shops for the most part..rob you blind because they know you need money. Some things you can get decent money for. But in many cases I would sell your goods online at auction. You will get more money for them.

I’ve built a few in my day. It only costs about 200 to make. It just takes time.
