I’m amazed these landed in hands so fast. Ordered asap got here on Friday. It’s honestly way better than I was hoping for. Good job to the spirit Halloween crew.
All the good crap comes out when I'm broke!!! Hopefully these will be still available by the time I get some money together. Overall, for a budget pack, they look pretty good.

i was honestly expecting it to be quite a bit smaller than it is. i’m really impressed with this release, and i’m definitely going to be picking a couple of them up. i missed the haslab version, and the fun/halloween costumes pack is just a bit out of my price range, not to mention the repeated delays. super stoked about these, and i can’t wait to see what the custom scene does with them

Quite the improvement, especially for the price. Sure there's gonna be mods, but less mods to do. Just add the Alice frame, possibly extend the wand tip. Also, a great option for those on budget and couldn't get the Hasbro Spengler pack.
Also if you’ve never been on spirit Halloween‘s website, or if you clear your Internet browsers’ cookies, they offer a 20% off coupon that pops-up....well if you put your email in, and it does work. Also, I know it works because I was able to get two of them, and the base price was only $200 each, it took 50 bucks off.
I bought the first spirit pack released in 2017, and at the time I was super happy finally being able to have a proton pack. Unfortunately I learned how much smaller it was than a real pack and it drove me nuts. I couldn’t afford the HasLab pack at the time it was available but…I just got this new pack yesterday and I almost cried! Such a beautiful pack for one heck of a price!

I'm pretty confident that this won't be the last iteration of the Proton Pack that Spirit Halloween does. This is the third version and with Hasbro and other companies making more accurate packs, I'm willing to bet that Spirit sees this as an opportunity to step up their game. Personally I love the pack itself but I'm a bit disappointed with the Neutrino Wand, which makes sense why Hasbro and Mattel make separate wands with more detail.
And I’ll keep paying haha
As detailed as the thrower is, I think when I get mine, I'll swap it out for the Hasbro one, add the V-hook from this Pack to the Hasbro thrower (as they appear to be much more accurate), and convert the Spirit thrower into an Afterlife-style temple sentry turret.
Pretty funny that the budget spirit pack has a proper V Hook while the super duper expensive movie accurate prop casted proton pack doesnt
That's why I added magnetic guns mounts (55 pound pull) to my Haslab pack and neutrona wand.
My wand doesn't budge, unless I remove it myself.
The patches remind of the ghostbusters jumpsuit I got as a kid when the second film came out. I LOVED AND LIVED in that thing for years until sadly out growing it. Still have it too and I’ve always chuckled at the “back off man ima ghostbuster” on the back lol.

Same here! I just got mine today and I love it! I adjusted the straps so everything fits great but I'm thinking of buying an ALICE frame for it once there's videos on how to attach this pack to one.
@@HelmetCowboy I was thinking about looking in to ALICE frames, too. My pack also just arrived yesterday and I feel like it's going to be kind of hot to wear with all of that foam on my back. The frame might help with that... in addition to making it more accurate, of course :)

Kudos to Spirit Halloween for listening to the fans. This pack looks great! If it weren't for my Haslab Proton Pack, THIS would be my go-to fullsize pack.
Movie sounds, powers up from the wand, and it STAYS ON (come on Hasbro) - this is perfect for those that felt like they missed out.

Definitely a true fact: Bill Murray wasn’t very pleased with how heavy the proton packs were. With a little bit of upgrading and fittings, he would totally enjoy this type of pack; onset for the upcoming sequel. 🚫
The wand lack of lights broke the deal for me. I'm not likely to mod, and it lacks a bit much.
But I know this will be great for others and I'm happy they made it.

Ordered mine the day I found out and it arrived before the weekend. I missed out on the Haslab pack, but this is a pretty nice consolation. Definitely seems to be some room for modding, but generally speaking, the 7-year-old-me is still over the moon over this!

yeah that's weird. it's 2023, there's no reason why any electronic device shouldn't be able to be charged.
If I'm able to get this I'm taking my haslab neutrona wand and all my gbfans guts from my 80% pack and putting it in this. Switching all my resistors,my clippard, Alice frame ,elbows the whole 9. And making this my second pack after my Haslab one. Thanks for the great review of this new pack! 😁

I'm definitely gonna get the new one. The upgrade from the old SH pack is absolutely wonderful. It may not be the Hasbro pack, but this is a fine substitute.

For the price you really can't ask for much more. It's a great base for people to no doubt upgrade and mod to be more accurate. Also, I've said this many times before, but I keep waiting for someone to do a Real Ghostbusters pack. Considering Spirit put out those RGB costumes a few years back I'm surprised they haven't done it yet.
In every conversation we've ever had with companies such as Spirit or Halloween Costumes, we always ask about RGB gear! Hopefully, eventually, someone will pull the trigger!

I ordered mine. Looks like it will be minimal modding on my part. Adding a light bare, a few switches, a ribbon Cable, and moving the speaker. I plan to reposition it in the N-filter and fill in the speaker holes.

Do you think they might later on make the wand more screen accurate? Perhaps next year? With all the lights and buttons on the right places etc..
Awesome review! It’s such a great alternative to a heavy custom built pack. Also, if your looking for some mod parts, Great Scott Prop Shop has really good quality parts to upgrade. But overall a great pack for the $250!

I have the original spirit pack, a Haslab pack and I still picked up one of these. Got it Saturday and used it for an event on Sunday. This thing is awesome for when you have to wear a pack on your back for 6 to 8 hours!
Where on the pack do you put the batteries. I ordered one on Friday and mine already shipped. Really excited to get it.

It doesn't. The v-hook on the Spirit pack is slightly smaller.

Not to be mean but HalloweenCostumes might as well just cancel theirs now. After multiple delays, the less than stellar appearance of the prototype, the price equal to the Hasbro pack and 1st run wand together and with hardly any of the features with that high price point, I can’t see anyone preordering or buying one now. Spirit put out something that looks better at half the price.
HalloweenCostumes’ pack is pretty much dead in the water.
WOW!! Just WOW!! I was SUPER disappointed that I wasn’t even aware of the Haslab pack until after they cut-off pre-orders/backers. While the Haslab will (very likely) remain the best officially released Proton Pack replica, especially because of its ability to be disassembled and “repaired,” however this new Spirit Halloween pack is the best official licensed, mass produced, “bargain” (aka low cost) version released so far, and very likely will remain so for MANY years. For one, it provides a starting template for anyone that wants to use it to build on top of that is far less expensive than most any other means currently available to use to make a custom pack. Simply by adding decals alone can make it much more screen accurate. The biggest improvements I can think of off the top of my head without taking a super detailed exam of the pack would be to add a secondary on/off toggle on the pack itself as well as the details/improvements that need to be added to wand.
I do wonder how difficult it would be if the Hasbro wand was used to replace the default wand?? One of the potentially simplest ways would be to take the on/off switch (maybe replace it with a toggle) and simply move it to the back of the pack and just then attaching the hose to the wand. The pack would have its lights going and the wand would operate as normal. Any kind of cross platform functionality would require far more work

Sold my haslab pack and bought this. I always wanted a full size pack, this spirit one fits the bill and won’t break the bank or my back! I wonder how many more folks will sell the hasbro pack and pick this up

Love the video ordered mine hope they send you a kickback, thanks for your videos and yes my ocd went full on Monk when I saw the decals... I have a full set of metal ones here to replace mine and going to mid this out.
I have one custom build that is HEAVY. I have one small 80% spirit pack that I took the ALICE frame off of (it was completely modified) and I put the Alice frame on my Haslab pack. I totally could see myself getting one of these to have a lighter proton pack but the face that they molded the cyclotron bumper in place in just a hangup to me. Sure, some people have cut up a 80% pack and 3D printed new parts to circumvent that and make a more accurate looking pack, but I look at that as extra work. My custom build is mostly 3D printed by me and I don't think I would ever do that again due to how long 3D printing actually takes, lol. If Spirit ever separates the bumper, I most definitely will be on board.

Man, hasbro really screwed up with that timeout 😢 I’ve since replaced the entire microcontroller and couldn’t be happier. Have options to add cyclotron lights, smoke and much more!! No timeout. 😂
Do you know what I hate about the old Spirit Halloween proton pack is that when I had it the peg whenever it was connected it just easily fell out 11:44
I just got mine, I'm going as a Ghostbuster to a Halloween party this year (Provided my HasLab Two in the Box set arrives in time since I got to wait for that) Even though I got a bit of a belly the thing actually fits me when it comes to the belly strap...very few ACTUAL bags I've seen that have those work for me so the "One Size Fits Most" is actually accurate. It's a nice piece to get, especially if you couldn't get your hands on the HasLab version. My only issue is reholstering the wand but that's just gonna come down to practice, practice, PRACTICE...I got till October of this year to get good with it.
