These guys sh*t and get. No wasted moves. As soon as the route is completed, they can go home. By noon time already home sipping on a cold beer. These boys deserve it. Thanks for the post.
Love the speed of this crew. I think it'd be hard to work like this. I could see a bunch of people covering the same house and skipping houses accidentally.
Definitely not an easy task. But I'm sure their motivation for speed is they're being payed by the stop and they want to beat the heat of the day which would make it just miserable to work out there.
I have an interview with Parks and Sons on Monday for this very position (the dude who rides on the side). Looks like a good amount of work for my 21 year old ass and hopefully I can glean an efficient work ethic from it- wish me luck!
In the 90s in Kansas City we used to have big 90 gallon yellow tote barrels that we rolled down the street from house to house. Overland Park Kansas had a law where you couldn't have trash on the curb so we went up to every house and loaded up these barrels. Slowly that Ryle went away and now OPKS is almost all automated now. It was a skill you had to learn to roll the barrel and run with it. Some guys like myself could roll two, and empty one in the left and a partially full in the right. When the right one got full you drop it off and use the other one. This way when the truck got full you could stay behind and keep bringing stuff down to the curb, we called it stacking.
Nice truck and great work! I'd love to have a cab over rear loader! I drive a conventional cab rear loader with right hand drive but its a ways down to the ground! It really slows my production
Yeah or conventional cabs have school bus doors on the right and can be driving from right side but it sucks picking up subscription routes cause I have to drive from the left and its a flight of stairs to get in and out lol
Very interesting! Three men routes, no warning lights on the back of the truck! Sunken cans in the front yard. Drivers using hand trucks! And! No cars on the street! Definitely a young man's route! What time do they start 1 a.m. due to the Heat? Not quite like the SF Bay Area!
In Malaysia, trash crews hang plastic bags at the rear of the trucks so that they can collect recyclables from household garbage and sell them for money.
Cool vid. But how much more efficient would these guys be if the customers had carts instead of cans? These guys are fast but with the current set up, what they make up in being fast/quick, they lose in the inefficiency of transferring trash to can to truck. Pretty good idea to bury the trash cans also. Sweet pete to.
Exactly, they working hard! Been there done that, our company did backdoor service for rich neighborhoods..i definitely prefer curbside, you can slay those neighborhoods!

huckster78Yeah, I don't get why more companies don't buy low entry cabs for their RLs. Cost I'm sure but still

Why not just put wheels on the Orange carts. Simplify
If you would see the bottoms dont have any were for wheels to be put on.
i doubt they work this fast in the middle of summer
phoenix240 They work even faster honestly. They start around 5:30am and work fast to be done by 10am to beat the heat.
