I sure do love this design. I think its a very cool and functional design, and not just for outdoors and active lifestyles but for anyone who wants a really nice bag with lots of functionallity. A lower end one is definietly in my future. Spending $100 plus dollars on anything is a luxuary I normally can't afford. But at $40ish I can splurg. Thumbs up...
Excellent comparison. Really informative. Appreciate how you stuck to comparing features & sharing experience rather than showing what you haul inside them. Now I get the differences between the Condor and the Maxpedition and can decide if MaxP is worth $60+ more to me. You have great video ideas. Keep'em coming. A script would help you cover everything topics in the 1st take.
I do like videos like this. Someone people trust that uses the equip. I have the Condor III day assault pack and Condors Compact Assault pack. For long term The Condor III seems to be a good choice yet to be determined but it is quit comfortable. While small you can really pack the Compact pack as a EDC. The Compact Pack is also quite comfortable but again standing and walking in the yard and in the bush quite different. Thanks again for your advice.
Thanks for your time and the great information brother, I am looking just not sure which one yet. Leaning toward the MaxPedition one I like the setup and the size to. I second that they just make a taller version of that pack.
I also like the Condor Level 3 Compact Assault Pack. I have had one for many years using it at least three or four times a week, just for grocery shopping and such. Its held up well.
Thanks mike I've been looking around and this is the first video that I've seen where someone reviewed those three brands at once. This was a very informational and helpful video. I am also interested in a video on your other packs you were talking about if you feel like you can. I've been looking at all three of these packs and the voodoo and the condor are tempting because of the good price but the maxpedition clearly seems to be of the highest quality. So thanks again for the video mike.
Yes I'm still here @26 min haha!!! I really enjoyed this video. Great comparison! You should try to get companies to send you products to review. I haven't looked yet but I'd love to see a review on other gear you use such as knives, boots/shoes, typical gear you bring, ect. Sorry if you have these videos already, I haven't checked to be honest.
Excellent video (and opening too)! I'm surprised that the condor straps won't hold a sleeping bag, they looked pretty long. And you can never have to much water on you. As long as you can czrry it that is lol. It can get heavy.
Mike in the opening of your video where are you at in the picture of you standing on a hill with a vast plain behind you? PS I found the rollypolly pouches.
Also from what you mentioned "OX Smacktickel" Fox Tactical.(obviously) I'm guessing not all lower brands are up to the same quality? Cause theres the Fox brand, Rothco, Red Rock (which I am leaning towards), and others that fall into the same price range as Condor. Some with similar quality some with less. Anything I should particularly stay away from?
You have a good point, one backpack is not for every thing, is no different from having 3 or 4 pairs of tactical boots, 2 or 4 tactical vest, or jeans. Each of them are constructed differently.
Maxpedition does make a larger version of the Falcon II. It's called the Super Falcon (35L) and it's from their Magforce line. Beware it'll run about $200.
Great video! I watched every minute of it and found it very informative. Doing a comprehensive comparison is a is a great idea and something I haven't seen much of of. I have a bit of a backpack "obsession" : ) but very little experience with the "tactical" ones that have come out. Thanks a bunch : )
Great video Mike, I too am a backpack junky. I currently do not have any assault / Tactical backpacks but I have had my eye on the Falcon II for close to two years & who knows maybe 2013 will be the year I get one. Take Care, Londian.
I got a black Maxpedition Falcon II for 88 dollars used. I'll probably get a voodoo later on down the road. I don't think black will be a bad color for a day hike pack.
I have no way to see these bags except online. Is the main compartment on the condor bigger than on the Maxpedition? Is the top front compartments larger on the condor? Are the condor straps "uncomfortable" with the "corners"? Will both be equally comfortable for woman or smaller person? Thank you.
just found your vids, really good comparison video. since this was a couple years ago how is the max and condor packs holding up,i need a pack that will hold up but dont have $300-$500 for the big brands, i do 1-3 day moveabouts as i call them, been using mil-surp alice for years and years, would like something different.thanks, keep up the good work
If you could leave the text up a little longer for us remedial readers, I would appreciate it. I get a little antsy on the longer videos like this one, but all in all I found it very informative. Thanks.
I like your take on everything! I'm a retired Army Paratrooper but I get sooo tired of the tactical/ninja/zombie killer reviews! Nicely done! All of the points you made were realistic and valuable. If it works for YOU, its valuable, if it doesn't work for YOU it isn't! Good on ya!
Oregon Mike You find the condor comfy? I feel like the straps are terrible. My shoulders are always bruised up from hitting the corner of the handle. Great bag, especially for the price....Am i the only one who can't stand the straps??
Great Video. I like your backpack comparison video. Very helpful. Thanks for going through the various features that each pack has to offer. I like the fact that you used/tested each pack & provided your honest opinion (Rather than someone getting a new backpack in the mail & doing a YT review w/o ever testing it. ) Thank you Sir.
I understand you asked this 4 months ago, but in case you didn't already figure it out here is an answer. Yes you can fit a 15.6" Screen Laptop in the main pocket. That being said, don't expect to fit much else besides the charging cables to the laptop or small notebooks (but not usually both).
I agree with the bigger Falcon. I would love it if they made 1 bigger. Because I love that pack and its great, but say I want to go out for a week or a bit longer, it would be a great pack for that if a bit bigger.
Waterproof? No. Some are more water resistant than others tho but no packs are completely waterproof. They do sell covers for bags to keep them dry however. You can pick them up at places like Walmart, Costco etc....
Those look like really cool packs. The Maxpedition ones seem really well made and durable. Excellent video Mike. Keep them coming!

Awesome brother! I really liked seeing the differences, pros/cons and price variations. Keep makin more dude, good job :)
I dig the ranger band idea for loosening straps
I also like the Condor Level 3 Compact Assault Pack. I have had one for many years using it at least three or four times a week, just for grocery shopping and such. Its held up well.

awsome review will will look at that pack that you liked so much and maybe see if i cant find a deal on them...

Yeah i might go with the 3 day asslt pack instead, its only like 40$ more for that one compared to the compact

good video I have the condor one and think its a little too small... are the maxpedition packs wider also?
Of corse I loosened the compression straps... :)
Is the maxpedition heavier? when there both empty...
Dude...great video. Would love to see more comparison vids. I'm kind of a pack rat myself.
... good packs! Thanks for showing and explaining!
Tim
On the second Maxpedition, what exactly are the two packs on the shoulder straps? You have one on each side.
Mike what are the mini rolle polle pouches? Can't find on amazon.
Thanks for all the input. Very helpful. Keep it up.
good info, what color are the two falcon 2's?
Great video Mike, I too am a backpack junky. I currently do not have any assault / Tactical backpacks but I have had my eye on the Falcon II for close to two years & who knows maybe 2013 will be the year I get one.
Take Care,
Londian.

How much larger is the Maxpedition then the condor pack?
great video! which condor pack is this the condor compact or the condor 3 day assult pack? also do u have any opinios on the MIL-tec packs?
I have no way to see these bags except online.
Is the main compartment on the condor bigger than on the Maxpedition?
Is the top front compartments larger on the condor?
Are the condor straps "uncomfortable" with the "corners"?
Will both be equally comfortable for woman or smaller person?
Thank you.
thanks for the compression, It answered questions I had about this type of pack.
Good video mike. You have wayyyy more packs than I have bro.
just found your vids, really good comparison video. since this was a couple years ago how is the max and condor packs holding up,i need a pack that will hold up but dont have $300-$500 for the big brands, i do 1-3 day moveabouts as i call them, been using mil-surp alice for years and years, would like something different.thanks, keep up the good work
the falcon2 is a pretty good bag, however i 'upgraded' because i did not like the lousy hip belt. i have since upgraded to the 5.11 Rush72. :)
about the same, the condor has softer padding...the voodoo's padding is harder but may be bit stronger
Hi Mike
Your videos are really good !!
Can you pass me the models of water pouch? or the web where you buyed them.
Thank very much!!
Condoor Outdoors just search amazon or go to canteenshop.com
Thank you very much!!!
Where did you find the water pouches?
If you still have the voodoo pack, can I PLEASE have/buy it??? I'll pay for shipping too.
If you could leave the text up a little longer for us remedial readers, I would appreciate it. I get a little antsy on the longer videos like this one, but all in all I found it very informative. Thanks.

+FirstSergeant Yellzalot Thank you very much
Are both the maxpeditions green? They look a bit different

Great vid.... I'm getting the Condor pack for my vehicle
I got the same one as u but black I'm excited about it so I hope it holds for what I need..😀😀😀
Good, useful review! Thanks.
What water bottle are you using? It looks nice.
That's a Lifeline bottle, only about $8-10
Which pack can you recommend for a range pack?
Are all of these packs waterproof? Maybe a a silly question but I would like to know if anyone has done extensive water testing with one.
@rjhisle1973 Those are in Asia. Do you know anyplace that I can order it from that will also ship to the USA
Can you fit a laptop in the Voodoo Tactical?

Maxpedition just released the Falcon III. Check it out!
im not seeing it on their website. Where did you see it?
Just type Maxpedition Falcon III in the subject line at the top of the YT page. There is ONE video on it.
They are making a larger one now...soon to be released
Good info here man, thanks for the video
The voodoo tactical back padding looks like some teenage mutant ninja turtle thing.
Appreciate the informative video.
@Mcim29 any of them would be fine
Nice video Mike....
Waterproof? No. Some are more water resistant than others tho but no packs are completely waterproof. They do sell covers for bags to keep them dry however. You can pick them up at places like Walmart, Costco etc....
maxpedition is slightly larger. loosen the comprdssion
helpful, thanks.
Maxpedition, please listen to Mike and make a larger "Falcon 2!" Other companies, same request! Good channel, Mike...
