  • A rare video performance of a classic comedy sketch from TCG members Harry Shearer & David L. Lander -- literally years behind its time! (taken from the 1977 movie "Crackin' Up" which also features members of the Firesign Theatre, Ace Trucking Co., and The Tubes)

"It's 1987, some of these old bands are gone and you'll need new ones to bring in the younger crowd. Do you have any?" "I do." "A-ha!" "Exactly!"

    Lander: You are twisted, sister.
    Shearer: They're next week.

I heard this on the radio back in the 70's and thought it was brilliant! I've been looking for it ever since. Finally, 40 years later and it's still brilliant. Why is it so rare and hard to find? Thanks so much to the uploader.

Note: altho Abbott & Costello made it world famous, "Who's on First?" was a staple of Vaudeville acts for decades in many variations.

Apart from the butchery of the Tomorrow Show sketch, that flick's a treasure for the classic routines we would otherwise not have any visual versions of!

  • @johnlongville595

I enjoyed this, and I'm a longtime Harry Shearer fan. But it can't measure up to the original. No one could deliver this routine as well as Abbott and Costello did it.
