Jarrod, which thermal paste is the GOAT for gaming laptops? If money is no object and all that matters is purely longevity and low temps, which one is the best in the market for laptops that we can repaste with?

Will you be reviewing any of the upcomming Snapdragon powered laptops? I know they're not really gaming focused, but I like your review style and I'd love to see your take on the new player in the CPU arena.
Laptop prices should be the following; Rtx 4050 for $800, 4060 for $1k, 4070 for $1200-1300, 4080 for $1800-2k, & 4090 $2-2.5k, anything higher is too much imo.

@4evahodlingdoge226 agreed. Most 4080 laptops go for 2.5k dollars, while a 4090 can net you anywhere from 3k to 4k.

Hi Jarrod, thank you so much for your great work! I was wondering if you are going to review the Acer Predator Triton Neo 16 in the future?
Nice review, Jarrod. Would you recommend this with i7 or the Acer Predator Neo 16 with i9?
Jarrod, your reviews are always the best.
Glad you like them!
For us Australian tech enthusiasts, is it possible to try out the Metabox VX lineup? Specifically the 4060 because im very keen on buying a gaming laptop rn but im very picky on both cooling and if USB-C allows PD. As well as i very much enjoy your videos and as a fellow aussie, i usually go to every one of your videos for whenever i decide to check out said laptop. Good videos and reviews, very thorough and i hope you get way more subscribers.
Amazing video as always Jarrod! im waiting for the 17x variant, i want to know the differences between 2023 and 2024 model, if there are great improvements, i will buy it.
Just Bought this laptop few weeks back and now since the new bios update ( F7/F006 ) my power button
Isn't working when trying put the laptop to sleep ...button works as usual to turn it on and off tho
( Yes I tried checking power options to change what pouwer button does all looks fine there)
Other thing is inbuilt speakers randomly make crackling sound

Hello there
I have a Cyborg 15 and I’m always worried about its fan being filled with lint and other debris that can affect my laptop
Can you do a general video of how to clean a laptop?
Hey Jarrod If you can, Do a review on the new MSI Vector 16.
Hi jarrod. love your videos! one question:
is there any major issues with zephyrus g16 2023 version? i'm about to buy it and i wanted to know your thoughts on it.
No major issues other than low CPU power limit (I think like 25 W when gaming) but I'm sure you're aware that thin and light gaming laptops don't get as good performance as heavier ones.
Should I pull the trigger on a Legion Pro on sale with Ryzen 7 and RTX 4070? It will be my first laptop

Is there any chance Acer Nitro 16 will be reviewed?
hello jarrod can u pls help me on this
I had a faulty CPU temp on my lenovo legion laptop I did a repaste on the CPU myself, it had metal liquid on it which I cleaned now still temps are not good though as it reaches 100C and temps are not stable. do u think lenovo would repair my laptop or it void the warranty? should I clean the thermal paste and send it to warranty?
bought this laptop 5 days ago and it was smooth. Got the i7 14650HX/4060 16gb RAM. Light laptop for it's punch.
one thing to note is that reviews should also include the packaging, mine came with a free waterproof Aoros bag, an Aoros gaming headset and mouse.
Hey Jarrod, I really like your solid reviews on these gaming laptops. I was wondering if possible, can you please review the MSI Vector 16 hx laptop? I am thinking of buying this laptop since it's a little bit cheaper at 2700$, with 14th gen i9 and rtx 4080. But I haven't been able to find reviews on this laptop on the internet.
Probably no point as far as I know it's the same as the 13th gen we already covered, and 14th gen i9 is basically a rebrand of 13th gen i9 - doesn't justify a week+ of testing sorry.
@@JarrodsTech Hey Jarrod, thanks for your response. I completely understand, you have other laptops to cover as well, so no obligations. But when you say you have already covered the 13th generation one, are you talking about MSI Vector GP 68? Because I guess Vector 16hx probably has the 14th gen CPU, and not the 13th gen. But if you're talking about the Vector GP 68 that you have already reviewed, I have watched that video, and you concluded in your video that the GP 68 has good performance, but its screen is really bad with poor colour reproduction. For the Vector 16hx I guess they have a new 1600p display, with 100% colour gamut, that's what is written on their website. So, will you recommend me to buy the vector 16 hx ? My budget is around 2700$ Also in vector 16 laptop the CPU power limit is 65 watt when GPU is running I guess, and the combined CPU + GPU is 240 watt. But for let's say raider GE 78hx it has a combined power limit of 250 watt (75 watt for CPU), and the newer ge78hx model with 14th gen CPU costs 3000$, so is it worth spending 3000$ just for 10 watts of performance difference, where other specs are the same? The older ge78 model with the 13th gen CPU is priced lower (2600$), which I had selected initially, but it's out of stock, so I had to change to vector 16hx. What do you think about vector 16 hx Vs Asus scar 18 (4080 version) since both have 65 watt CPU limit? Sorry for this very long comment.
Jarrod, My lenovo Legion slim 7 keeps overheating to 90 degrees C only with chrome. I had to solve it by force it to 30W from lenovo vantage. Is it common? (my room temp is 36 degrees)
Assuming you're not doing anything hardcore in chrome, maybe needs paste change.
Bro make a video of it, send it to Lenovo and get a heat sink+motherboard changed. DO NOT repaste the laptop. Lenovo uses a modified version of Honeywell PTM 7950, it is called PTM 7958, so do not repaste your laptop.
Room temp 36 CELSIUS? That's pretty hot. My room temp is like 20-25c
I had to do the same but I have an asus advantage edition it would just 96c on any game even with new paste so I'm forced to use 30-35w on CPU
undervolt the GPU, set the CPU clockspeed limit via Windows settings or power consumption via Throttlestop if you have Intel
Can you do a video about the 2024 Loq 15ahp9? I can hardly find anything about it
Not quite sure if theres really a point tho, since theres just a new cpu and a new chassis design im aware of
*Edit: spelling mistake
Thanks, please also review legion pro 5i gen 9 (2024)
I don't know if there's any point as it's the same as 2023 just with a "new" CPU.

can you review aorus 7? and if you do get the bios update from their website, without it the batterylife sucks and the price for performance is decent and what shocks me that it gets near the best intel best batterylife holder, it's 2023 and the secondary functions light up no worries hahaha

I got the 17x with a 13900HX and a 4080, and aside from not being able to overclock the cpu or ram, im pretty happy with it, especially considering i only paid $2,500 after tax. Its also crazy thin, and despite the hardware inside and the thin build, it's also surprisingly quiet under load
Hi, is acer helios neo 16 with rtx 4060, i73700hx with 1tb ssd and 16 ram. Is this a good laptop to buy? Aside from the weight and battery, ive checked that it is cheaper than lenovo Legion 5i and even this gigabyte 16x. In my Country those cost like two to three thousand more. Is it good bang for buck or is it a bad laptop?
It's good
I am actually waiting Asus Tuf A14 fa401wv, and wondering too much. Please review next time
Hoping to review it
Man that 100 watt cap is the most annoying thing ever. Lucky that you guys hit 100 though. I got a 140 watt rtx 4060 and the highest Ive ever seen is 88 watts. I feel the the GPU should be allowed enough power to keep fps at over 60fps at 1080p and 1440p native. It would be nice if it actually hit the 125 watts minus dynamic boost.
that's why I chose the 14.5 inch 1.75kg legion slim, since going thicccer, larger and much heavier doesn't increase performance, instead its just a waste since the bigger chassis has only disadvanteges and no benefits, except a larger screen
Will there ever be a zephyrus g16 2024 review?
Hopefully. We've been trying to get it from ASUS for a few months now. They assure us it's coming, but it's been coming for a while.
Please do a dusting test, because dust accumulation lowers the performance dramatically(I am getting lower performance due to dust in MSI GE67HX 12UGS) (Note: I blow compressed air to get out of the dusts). I haven't used asus but asus have a good dust protection system and it seems like this gigabyte aorus laptop have too.
Also, I wonder that can the fans be extracted without lifting the whole heat sinking because repasting(with ptm7950 and upsiren u6 pro) can be dangerous especially for those who are not experienced now don't want get trouble with the laptop which prices can be up to 4000 dollars easily
For instance I bought my MSI GE67HX laptop 4000 US dollar ,despite release price of the laptop is 2500 us dollar in the United States.
For those who need some performance and good panel, This is the cheapest gaming laptop with Dolby vision display
Did it run on nvidia gpu on battery?
It can be intel gpu
Yes it can run on Nvidia GPU on battery but the wattage is so low you can't do anything intensive with it
Do you think the Lenovo legion 7i gen 9 is too loud for college cs classes?
I own a legion 5 pro 5800h version. Its okay in quiet mode. Through once i had some heating issues, and the class could clearly hear my fans spinning even in quiet mode😂
@@Blackowl2202 yeah that’s my fear

When Asus Tuf Gaming A16 2024?
Should i buy a legion slim 5 with ryzen 7 cpu and a rtx 4060 or pay $200 more and get a strix g15(2022) with ryzen 9 cpu and a rtx 3070 ti?
3070 ti is not worth $200 more imo
You always try so hard, I think that's very good about you.
I have 2023 gigabyte aorus 17h 4080 laptop and it foes everything i want.
If the AI mode on laptops like the Legion series only works with a particular set of games, who are were to say that they’re doing anything more impressive than the .plist or .xml in use here? Like, if it is AI, why can’t it optimize power when in running Microsoft Word?
Because you aren't power limited in that scenario. In gaming, laptops are heavily power limited and the components could draw twice as much power if they were able to. "AI" finds the best distribution of CPU and GPU power depending on how CPU or GPU intensive a game is.
The intenal just like asus tuf a15 2023 btw
The only laptops i am barely intrested in are the zephyrus g16, due its display and the legion 7i for its looks.

Why no AMD options? Intel is just too hot and expensive and slower.
You'd have to ask why Gigabyte choose to only make Intel options.
Not on the laptop side, where at 50W they have about the same performance..
The only reason why Intel seems hotter is because they can boost up to 120W or somewhere around that point, when AMD usually limits it to 80W, so less heat. Equal TDP generally means equal heat generation, so Ryzen at 50W will heat up as much as any Intel CPU at 50W, unless the architecture has an issue with evacuating internal heat.
But regardless of the laptop, these max TDP (even 80W) can't be sustained and cooled efficiently in any laptop, unless you get one of these watercooled laptops or one with top-tier air cooling.
+ the fact the 14900HX here is capped at 55W and performs like any other 14900HX and 13900HX, so no, even here Intel doesn't need to push TDP up to 100+W.
Last point : in some continents, Intel CPUs are the budget option in laptops. It has also been a while since I've last seen a Ryzen 5 in a current generation gaming laptop. (not counting the Ryzen 5 7535HS because it's just a Ryzen 5 6600H, which I have also never seen in a budget gaming laptop)
when i had my Ryzen 5 with legion 5, it seemed to me much slower than my core i5 ultrabook (lenovo as well). And AMD in my country has higher prices than intel. Don't know what u talking about. Besides, I don't think amd has resources to supply all OEMs, they are still small company and depend on TSMC, who has 3 more prioritized clients - Apple, Nvidia, Qualcomm
@@JarrodsTech also the battery on the intel is abysmal, an 8845hs or 7840hs is so much better in battery life, that's why I got the slim 5 14
Every laptop with Nvidia GPUs are only worth buying with the "60" version of that GPU - 960, 1060, 2060, 3060, and 4060. Anything higher just isn't worth the money for the loss of performance. When the 50 series come out, I'll buy the the Gigabyte 4060 version. I have the Aero 15 4K oled with the i7 11th gen and 3060 gpu. And boy what a great laptop. I added 2 TB ssd and another 16 gigs and it's still a beast running any games at 1440p extremely well and any editing software and 3D software.
The 60 versions for Nvidia and i7 for Intel or any AMD comparable to an i7 of any generation is best for laptops. Higher than that and it's not worth it, and to just buy a desktop, then that will be worth power per dolllar.
I got a 4090 laptop for double the price of my previous 4060 laptop but performance quadrupled so this isn't always true. VRAM is becoming extremely important and the 60 series GPUs don't have much of that.
@nocommentarygaming2644 If we compared laptops to desktops, your laptop would not even compare to the true power of a desktop with a 4090. I hate to say this because I used to be a laptop guy until I realized how expensive laptops were becoming and can't even compete with the same specs of a desktop. So, I got smart, I buy a monster desktop then keep my laptops with the 60 versions. The laptop is just to start a project and the desktop is to finish it and polish it.
@@zoopfvisualeffects4721 I just like having everything on one device and my 4090 laptop plays everything at max settings at 1440p which is enough for me. This was unlike my previous 4060 laptop which would run out of VRAM. But I did get it for $2500 on sale - and desktops still offer better price to performance. I can't argue that point obviously.
@@zoopfvisualeffects4721 I like having everything on the same computer, but yes I'm aware how much more powerful a fully specced out desktop can be. That being said, I did get mine for a really good sale which makes it more price competitive.
