I’ve been a hardcore cod player since mw1 and I strongly support the game being built like this. The game hasn’t been selling as much as it’s supposed to sell for quite a while. People have been saying that it’s because of the loot boxes and micro transactions, however their wallets contradict that big time so the sales must be down for a different reason. Me and very few friends played the game while the rest of our friends hated it, they didn’t even know much about the loot boxes or micro transactions, they hated it because every time they would try it out they would get repetitively killed by a veteran player and they would end up getting harassed over their 0.01 kd ratio. There were also those times in which they were rejected by our group to play competitively because based on their stats we would’ve gotten our asses kicked with them on our team. So to me it seems logical that the sales may be down because a huge amount of people ended up having the same experience my friends had. The game was full of hardcore players and little to no room for a new player to be introduced to it and no motivation to improve their skills since it’s repetitive every match and re-sold every year. If I were them I would feel like I wasted $60 and would’ve picked up battlefield instead, which is probably what they ended up doing. Now instead of personal experiences with cod let’s use some basic economics. In order to sell supply (cod games) you need a big enough demand. The demand for the game was very low because of the fact that it was only coming from the hardcore players and no one else. This is terrible to rely on because of the fact that this group will eventually die off because of the majority eventually moving on from cod (kids grew up and most cod RUclipsrs turned into Fortnite RUclipsrs) so you’re eventually gonna end up with 0 demand. Meanwhile battlefield 3, battlefield 4, and battlefield one not only did they have their hardcore players but also people looking forward to buy it who have never even played it in the first place. In other words, not only were they staying loyal to their original clientele, they were expanding it with every new release. Something that cod could not do. The only way to make the money needed to support the game out of this may just be finding a way to manipulate the current clientele into paying for more. Thus you get loot boxes (Advanced Warfare) which created terrible press against the devs making them unlikable among the gaming community. Even though they made good money they realized that they were hurting their marketing (Infinite Warfare) by doing this. In order to improve their marketing they decided to finally listen to their main fan base and went back to the old cod days (ww2). The sales were good but it didn’t look like it was going to last long which it didn’t, so then they go down a different/unique direction, they turn to the noobs who have since moved on to Fortnite. Thus you get this game. A perfect game for the bottom fragging noobs with the business of Fortine that hits the mentality of freemium gaming (warzone being free but with expensive cosmetics) Me and my hardcore friends didn’t feel any different spending $60-$100 on this game since we’ve done it multiple times before, did it with mw2 and ghosts during their release so we’ve been happy and disappointed before so we didn’t care. But my noobie friends who used to hate this game, not only did they buy the game at release, not only did they also buy all dlc’s, not only did they also buy the battle pass, but this game is ALL they play now! 24/7 on Xbox, PS4, and PC they’re either on warzone or tdm. And according to the sales numbers, they’re not the only noobs who did this. In the end, the right answer to save this game turned out to be ditching the loyal fan base to create a new one. As harsh as it sounds, the hardcore players including myself were the ones holding this game back from surviving in the industry so the developers made the right call here. Keep in mind that the alternative would’ve been turning this into the biggest pay-to-win mess of all time. I personally prefer dealing with noobie campers everywhere than having to pay $9.99 to unlock the AX-50 most likely on top of a monthly subscription to use sniper rifles. And who knows, maybe this new generation of cod players will be nicer and more likable than the one most of started out with (n-word yelling 9 year olds)

I run an OG MP7 competitive class cause I've played leagues since BO1 and there's absolutely no reward for aggresive gameplay. So yeah, why bother? Run M4 and get chopper every lifespawn.
I am not sure how many competitive games you guys have played or if you play on console but "slow paced" means nothing when it comes to agro in these types of games. You are not forced to play any particular way. When the meta is this clear one week into the game.... something needs to be changed. People sitting around with claymores and the over under with m4 just ruins the experience for anyone. I have stopped playing. This could be the best CoD, but they've completely ruined the multiplayer experience.

I think decreasing the volume of the footsteps needs to be prioritized instead of adding dead silence as a perk. The removal of the perk was a good idea. I don’t want to have a crutch perk that I feel like I always have to run.

As one of the casual “bad” players i can confirm that the camping doesnt make the game fun even for us, because the more experienced players always end up taking control of the major camping spots and it just makes it a bad experience all around, especially in ground war, and im so trash at this game that i have 0 clue as to how to counter any of this, i preferred the older cods because i didnt care about playing well, it was more fun going around with a shotgun with gunho and just going ape 😂 how mw plays is just horrible imo

You guys really have trouble listening, the game pretty much forces you to play that way or you are at a disadvantage. Devs said they made it where new players don't get slapped, no other call of duty has catered this much towards newer players because it effects everyone who isn't brand new.
What annoys me the most is that when I play 10v10 or 20v20 TDM or something there's actually only 5 or 6 people on each team and it makes the maps seem even bigger and of course a campfest

I had a .3 on BO2 when I was 14. My first CoD game. I was bad at FPS games back then. I tryed out WaW on PC 2 years ago and had a 4.5, then I only play custom zombies and eventually stopped playing. I haven't bought any of the CoD games released since BO2.
Dang, guess I’m gonna have to pass on COD again this year. I was going to be pretty forgiving on whatever issues it may have just for the sake of getting to play again, but the fact that they’ve done away with traditional lobbies completely kills it for me. I liked being able to have revenge matches against people I’ve been playing with for an hour and then possibly ending the night with a couple new friends. Only playing one match with people really limits how well I get to know them. It really stinks seeing this game with such crippling initial flaws when the core mechanics of things like gunfights could be the best they have been in years. I’m sure there are some people that will still enjoy the new type of gameplay, but I just don’t think I can get into it. Though, I would jump on board in a heartbeat if they fix the lobbies and put out some better designed maps WITHOUT requiring me to purchase DLC to have access to them.
@@Jellycheez I spent a lot of time playing every gun, mainly rushing with sniper or camp with a sniper. Yesterday I caved and I used the M4 in dom and kill confirmed. It's the first time I got the gunship. I'm not gonna use any other gun than the m4. Can't beat them, I joined them

Cyber Attack is by far the best mode on the game. I feel like the maps play best on there and feel like a lot of the maps were designed around this mode.

I stg if anyone is pissed off about camping PLAY KILL CONFIRMED, no one is camping because they’re all rushing to get the dog tags of the enemy’s they killed, it’s actually amazing.
All you can do in this game is camp. You move you die from some sniper way way way out, so this map has a few glitch spots, I keep seeing people glitch into rocks they can see and shot through and kill people this way. No skill.

The scope glint is way too high, just like the footsteps are way too loud. They should lower footstep volume and scope glint. Scopes only glint if they have sunlight directly on them, so why does it shine like a supernova while I am in a cave?
I feel like I’m just getting whiplash from the cod developers every year. Black ops 4 dropping over 100 kills was impressive but not entirely uncommon. Depending on the game mode of course. If I saw someone get over 100 kills in this game you know that boy is cheating. It just doesn’t seem remotely possible.

I run an OG MP7 competitive class cause I've played leagues since BO1 and there's absolutely no reward for aggresive gameplay. So yeah, why bother? Run M4 and get chopper every lifespawn.
I am not sure how many competitive games you guys have played or if you play on console but "slow paced" means nothing when it comes to agro in these types of games. You are not forced to play any particular way. When the meta is this clear one week into the game.... something needs to be changed. People sitting around with claymores and the over under with m4 just ruins the experience for anyone. I have stopped playing. This could be the best CoD, but they've completely ruined the multiplayer experience.

I think decreasing the volume of the footsteps needs to be prioritized instead of adding dead silence as a perk. The removal of the perk was a good idea. I don’t want to have a crutch perk that I feel like I always have to run.

As one of the casual “bad” players i can confirm that the camping doesnt make the game fun even for us, because the more experienced players always end up taking control of the major camping spots and it just makes it a bad experience all around, especially in ground war, and im so trash at this game that i have 0 clue as to how to counter any of this, i preferred the older cods because i didnt care about playing well, it was more fun going around with a shotgun with gunho and just going ape 😂 how mw plays is just horrible imo

Dang, guess I’m gonna have to pass on COD again this year. I was going to be pretty forgiving on whatever issues it may have just for the sake of getting to play again, but the fact that they’ve done away with traditional lobbies completely kills it for me. I liked being able to have revenge matches against people I’ve been playing with for an hour and then possibly ending the night with a couple new friends. Only playing one match with people really limits how well I get to know them. It really stinks seeing this game with such crippling initial flaws when the core mechanics of things like gunfights could be the best they have been in years. I’m sure there are some people that will still enjoy the new type of gameplay, but I just don’t think I can get into it. Though, I would jump on board in a heartbeat if they fix the lobbies and put out some better designed maps WITHOUT requiring me to purchase DLC to have access to them.

Cyber Attack is by far the best mode on the game. I feel like the maps play best on there and feel like a lot of the maps were designed around this mode.
