Whoever did the words in this deserves a crisp high five.
Conductor: Ok percussionists. You go to the drum kit and you... you do the everything else pls.
Honestly this guy tho. Respect.
Basically every musical ever
That was both amazing and stressful to watch.
This is why I love percussion!
im a percussionist in my highschool band and i cant imagine being able to do all of that. props to this man
Yeah , I mean - this man deserves a raise for even just being able to play all the way up there
I'd live in a percussion loft...
Graham Hargrove is amazing!
Gosh. Thanks for filming this. You really rock!!! so wonderful to see behind the scenes. Such work & professionalism. Hope that I can hear the musicians one day at a Meet the Festival...but don't want to really cause you more work. Just a fan. Have a great 2020 season. Play on....as that bard says.
Fantastic mate! Hard work combined with talent and musicianship - pleasure to watch and listen to!
Oh my! So talented! ❤❤❤
Fantastic show, and Graham is ASTOUNDING!!! JUST BRILLIANT!!!!
man the man is non-stop!
What a great video, one of my all time favourites from Stratford, well done.
Instead of the orchestra ditch, it's the orchestra in the fly space. Odd.
It's i an upstairs room, not the fly space!
Omigawsh, this is so much fun to watch! Graham, you’re absolutely brilliant!
This stuff seems extremely stressful and incredibly funny at the same time!
WOW!
Brilliant!
Hehehe awesome job. The end reminded me of that joke ... big breaths ... yeth and I'm only thixteen. lol
That looks really fun
it isn't at all haha
On one hand it is a blast but 10000000% nerve wracking, and stressful! Like the whistles for the dance, and all the other stuff! If you don't hit it 100% everything can go haywire! It is not like trumpet or violin, where you might have 2-6 playing the same thing! And you can fudge if you messed up! Percussion no way! It's loud and you can screw up so easily! Broken sticks or mallets, other mechanical issues with the instruments! Mallets rolling on marimbas, xylophones, vibraphones, tympani! Tympani going out of tune! Wingnuts coming off cymbal stands and cymbals coming off and crashing at inopportune moments! Yeah it's a blast doing percussion! The only section...in my not so humble opinion, but yeah there are a million things that can g o awry!
@@seb._hl it certainly is
amazing ..luv it
Amazing - just great!
incredible.
I love this - well done matey.
Wow, hard job. Its look very stressful, so many instruments.
you are incredible
Damn man.... that is awesome :)
Congratulations! I really enjoyed this video. Which are the percussions used in this performance?
If you mean instruments, there is a marimba, xylophone, timpani, vibraphone, triangle, suspended cymbal and much more...
that dude: "How many instruments do you want up here"
Loft man: "Yes"
That's how I imagine it.
Well that is cool. What track is this? Is there a cast recording of this production?
Your a great percussions
Go Graham!!
In times of staff shortages...
That's how every single employee try to manage their work
Wow!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I rlly wanna see the whole percussion view
You’re god for me
Do you want to be in my orchestra with all your instruments?
the level of stress
That's what job security looks like
Great Job! Whats the name of this trumpet at 1:52? :-)
That's a siren whistle.
That's one guy doing a three man job here.
Wow
*five man job
What musical is it
The musical is "Crazy For You".
What was the musical he was doing
This was our 2014 production of the musical Crazy for You.
Where is the tabla?
I'm not going to check, but I'll bet my life this is not playing now
Nope, but Chicago is!
How is the percussion heard if he's in his own little boxed off room
they mic up the room
Uh...it's called a "sound system".
This looks like a audio techs nightmare
Too busy😂😂
Not quite my tempo.
It’s fun to watch, but as a (retired) orchestrator/arranger, I gotta say, it’s unnecessary. Writing the percussion part for a show is about doing more with less, not less with more. This looks almost as though it was arranged specifically to make a RUclips video out of.
Fun to watch, but that seemed needlessly complicated. Have a second guy there, ffs.
Lol they don't want to spend the money
Too expensive lmao
Listen carefully. There are other percussion sounds (cymbal, snare, probably more), so there's at least one more person.
Most likely the drummer
MsSoundguy standard is drumset/ perc 1 and percussion 2 for most shows. The drum set player might have more than just drums in their book as well.
Almost a one man band 😬
