Habibati! Sorry about the use of the watermark, tried uploading this 3 different times and this is the only version that didn't get blocked by YT. Sarah Bareilles is clear-cut music awesomeness. Mounds and mounds and mounds of talent, would absolutely catch one of her shows if I get the chance because she just brings so much music performance in such a simple package. I really want to react to more of her stuff, if the youtube content ID Gods are willing to let me of course. Let me know in the comments what other songs I should react to.

You need to watch her "She Used To Be Mine" video. Please! It is high on my "Songs That Make You Cry Every Time" list. It's SO freakin' emotional. Perfect storm of heart-breaking lyrics, music, passionate emotional performance and singing.

Thank you for reacting to her and GREAT REACTION! Bar-ellis is the pronunciation. Sarah also wrote the music for the Broadway musical The Waitress and has had numerous hit songs. She is an incredible artist.

I have this entire show of hers on dvd and it's incredible. She is so incredibly talented. Elton himself said she took this song and made it hers.

Dunno if you've checked out any of her other concert videos, but she is well-known for being *incredibly* funny and down-to-earth between songs and then immediately captivating her audience with the performance. I don't think any video shows this better than "Sara Bareilles - Once Upon Another Time (Live at the El Rey - 5/14/2013)"- it starts with a chatty story about writing the song and then the first half of the song is a cappella and you can literally hear a pin drop the crowd is so enraptured. Then she accompanies herself with a harmonium and it's so eerie and beautiful and haunting and melancholy and stunning.

@@AliciaPinATX YES!!!! So good. I recommended the other video just cuz it's solo and has the funny bit contrasted with the heartbreaking song, but the Ben Folds/Caroline Shaw/Sara trio is exquisite on a whole other level. But of course, I think you simply can't go wrong with a Sara B selection...😂
She won a Grammy for Saint Honesty. It’s a beautiful song and her voice is sublime!
She does an amazing version of In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel as well. You'd dig it. 🤘🏻

I loved your reaction to this. I feel like my face looks just like your face when I listen to this song - even though our faces couldn’t be more different. I also love her cover of Chandelier; I’d never really understood the poignancy and heartbreak of that song either until I heard Sara sing it.
This is one of those covers that I feel like is better than the original. Sarah Bareilles is one of my favorite singers of all time. Two other pieces I highly recommend are "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" (I prefer live at the Blue Door in San Francisco but there's no video I know of. I love Sarah and listen to her on the regular. She has a song called Orpheus ( ft T-Bone Burnett) that is gorgeous, but I don't know if there's a video. As a matter of fact that entire album, Amidst The Chaos Live Fom the Hollywood Bowl, is absolutely fantastic. She has had me in tears many a time. Her last name is pronounced Bar- ill - ess. ... "Once Upon Another Time" should be reviewed. Look for her live performance with Ben Folds. It's astounding.
I just stumbled on to this after watching your Angelina Jordan reactions. Sarah is great. I know you have a list you’re following for Angelina’s songs, but her second live performance on AGT was Yellow Brick Road inspired by this Sarah Bareilles version. It’s stunningly beautiful. Sarah is my favorite female vocalist. I would highly recommend that you delve deeper into her catalog - but try to do live versions. Her studio work is incredible as well, but as you heard - live? she really is the best. And yes - "She Used to Be Mine" live at the Hollywood Bowl would be a good one.
