  • The movie is said to be a sort of "Robin Hood" fugitive story. This excerpt is all I have of it. But it does give us a nice glimpse of the 23 year old Lucia shortly before she made her escape to the West from what was then Czechoslovakia. The language is Slovak.
I'm grateful to RUclips contributor Dobrib for providing some information about it.

Love Lucia Popp so much. I know it's just film scenes, but I still have a sad feeling. I wouldn't like to see such a good lady be treated as so, even just in film. She is a jewel.

and of course, no lady should be treated as so.

It seems that Lucia would make a good actor, though it's lucky for us that she chose singing. I read a book about Janošik when I was young but then I lost it and I don't remember much, except that at the end he was captured (and killed I suppose).

Janja, is there much similarity between the Slovenian and Slovakian languages? Can a Slovenian person understand much or any of this?

I can understand a word here and there, but I can't really follow the talking. Probably I'd understand a written text a little more.

@@BazzasBest Hi there...as a Slovak I can tell, that for me personally is hard to undedrstand Slovenian ,Polish,...and other Slavic langs. But tell ya one thing....Lucia speaks here really proper Slovak(we have many dialects, and the funny thing is, she was born in the part of Slovakia, where people speak almost Czech..... and us Slovaks, we are veeeery accent sensitive).

And unlike Robin Hood, Jánošík was undoubtedly a real person.
