Thanks for the video, I’m a week post op and looking to shred again soon. Not enough time in the day for me to visit a PT facility. So awesome, your my new therapist!
3-day post ACL (Bridged Enchanced ACL Repair (no allograft)) and bucket handle/horizontal meniscus repair. Able to not feel pain anymore, doing straight leg raises with the brace. Not sure if I need to take the brace off to do it or keep it on. PT starts on April 12th, 2023. It doesn't feel like I've lost strength in my leg.
That’s great! You will likely lose some strength as the muscles atrophy but keep training it. You have to be careful to not flex the knee too far but everything here should be good for you. We are about 5 days post op in this video.
I’m one month post op from a complete tear of the acl And a horizontal tear at the anterior horn of the lateral meniscus. I’ve been on a good track doing my pt 2 or 3 times a week but at home I do it here and there kinda lazy on it. Recently I’ve been able to have the confidence to go outside and attend family events. So my leg has considerable strength. I could stand up on it on one leg with the help of something. But I’ve been walking around a lot. Here and there. But recently for 3 ish days straight I’ve noticed swelling. And I think it was because of those days I’ve been at real life everyday things and places to be at for like the first time after one month of bed rotting. But something feels off. Like I cant put weight on it without some uncomfortable feelings. I feels when I tore it. Those like steps and to the whip or something. Right after the injury at the pitch. I don’t know what it could be. Or if I’m just sore.
You probably just agitated the healing tissue and overexerted yourself a bit too much too early on. I would keep an eye on it and rest it for a little while as well as talk to your therapist about what you are experiencing. I wouldn't worry about it too much, just take it easy and make sure you are not pushing yourself too much as in many instances, people prematurely add stress to the recovering structures when it is not quite ready. Hope this helps!
7 days post ACL reconstructive (allograft) with meniscus repair, able to walk one one crutch (able to walk without crutches with hard brace on too, with a limp ofc) achieved 90degree flexion and full extension, is this pushing myself too fast? i dont think ive talked to anyone yet that has such rapid progress and it scares me that i might just retear the ACL.
Are these excersises good also for general knee ligament pain?!?! I didn't tear my acl i just do lots of basketball and athletic and probably I've strained it!!! It hurts honestly i don't know what's the problem..
Midline Incision Patella tendon avulsed from the lower pole patella (Scarring Occurred). 15 day's after operation and still cant raise from knee down without knee bend. Is this an unsuccessful operation or does it take longer ?
I did straight leg raises on the second and third day. It was really hard. Now its day 7 and leg still hurts, more then on first days. Did I harm something with early exercises?
Stoked to see you using BFR for post-op therapeutic exercise & hope your buddy is able to retain as much muscle as possible.

Glad you’re enjoying it. I’d still suggest formal PT but glad you’re finding good success with my videos.

That’s fairly normal for my patients in terms of where you are at. Just listen to your body and how it recovers

No, it will recover. The straight leg raises are fine. You are probably just using it more. Nothing to worry about.
All knee bending for me hurts really bad
How many days he out of surgery? And his doing all that man he has to rest first 2 weeks man
He’s a week out
