- "Infowars" host Alex Jones has claimed that 9/11 was an "inside job" and that the Newtown massacre was "fake." Now, his lawyer is saying not to take him at his word. As part of a child custody case defense, Jones' attorney said he's "playing a character" on his show. Anna Werner reports.

Oy. Did anyone come after Colbert for playing a character for, what, 11 years? I loved his character on the Colbert Report, as mist of us did (right? please say yes)! So, what is the problem if Jones IS playing a part? Christ, it's just a ride, darlings! Do your own work, come to your own conclusions, act accordingly and take comfort in knowing you made a choice vs. being told what to do.
The problem is he tells people everything he said was like fact.real news or at least people believed him.. .it was like he is playing a snl skit with each show but does not advertise it that way.

My thinking is he would just use any leverage to get custody of his kids. They probably mean more to him than money. But on the other hand, when I watch him Im constantly wondering if he is hamming it up
Of course he's a "character artist", there's no way he can be that animated all the time without going crazy. But that doesn't mean he's making all the information up...and I'm not even an Alex Jones fan. I personally think he gets at least half of his info wrong or it's at least exaggerated or twisted somewhat. But he's certainly not wrong on everything he talks about, far from it - alot of what he says is 100% true, with verifiable and prooveable facts (and by that I mean in the 50% of his reports that are actually correct, for those claims his facts are 100% true and verifiable, if that makes sense).
But there's a reason he has such a huge audience. Because it's not enough to have the information nowadays, nobody is going to listen if you bore them to death. Jones uses his larger than life persona, highly exaggerated for entertainment, to increase the size of his audience so that he can get his info out to more people (whether it's right or wrong).
You can't really use this claim to debunk him. And remember this is being made for the specific reason of winning a custody court case...the lawyer wants to portray him in the best possible way to a jury that may not necessarily be of a similar mindset to Jones or his fan base. This is about seing his kids at end of the day, I would do exactly the same thing if it was me.
