I had a VFR750 and a VFR800 and loved them both. I toured France, Switzerland and Italy on the 750, and did a couple of track days at Cadwell Park. Definitely my favourite bikes of the dozens of different bikes I've owned. I swapped the VFR800 for a Suzuki TL1000R which was a fair bit faster, but nowhere near as enjoyable to ride. Plus, I knew it was going to kill me eventually spinning the back tire up out of bends and wanting me to ride faster than was safe on the road. If you have never done a track day and are thinking about it, they can spoil you for road use as they push your expectations and boundaries too high. I have no regrets because while had a few crashes, I am still alive and have some great memories, but it could so easily have gone the other way.
The 1996 Suzuki GSX-R 750 was my first bike.
I still miss it!
