Made my first skin today thanks to your video!! 👍😎
Excellent! Congratulations.
@@danmcnarry Quick question....how do I identify all the different parts of a template to know which section I'm working with? I know which section is the side, hood, back, etc...but there are a lot of pieces that I don't what they are and where they go. (Pete389 Ultra Cab)
Worked a treat, first time. the only thing you dont mention is when it comes time to select the truck model, only a few appear under "simple truck", while others (the KW900 in my case) appear under advanced, with many more options. I winged it and got it to work first time but might wanna add info on why some appear and others dont
I really appreciate your videos Dan. Thanks for all that you do. Ya know, I've always been hoping someone would come out with some old school retro scroll pinstriping skins.
I'll take a swing at it at some point Joe.
Not really any good tutorials out there. But I love the way you explain everything. Please do more of these. I want learn all I can. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. Will be watch the vids !
Thanks very much! I have quite few more planned and as learn more, I find my old ones need updating. Cheers!
lovin these vids brother
Thanks very much TL!
Great tutorial Dan :)
Thanks EJ. With any luck, 50% of it made sense.
Thank you for the indepth Turtorial, however, I've a hard time finding ETS2 templates, any suggestions?
thanks for this
This is super helpful but I do have a question, how do I assess skins from mods I installed from the steam workshop? I have a few modded trailers that come with extra textures that are or you to reely skin but I'm not sure how I'm suppose to get to those.
did you make a video about uploading modded truck skins to steam workshop? i cant find the 386 in the mod studios app.
The xml for the truck you are wanting to publish goes in a specific folder. I guess I'll have to check this video and then see if I need to make another video.
hi i love the tutorial you made here and thanks to you i found out how to make skins my own but when you import them to your game it goes wrong for me because i have the mod set up and ready but when you open the game it isn't in between my mods how did you do this because i would love to know it thanks already tho for the rest of the tutotial!!
Hi great video. Do you know how to install mods in 1.50? As I dont have a mods folder anymore. Any help would be great.
I tried to download the mod studio and I keep getting a bunch of ads. Is that normal
Maybe, I am a Patron so that cuts out the adds for me
@@danmcnarry I ended up joining the Patron program to get the direct link. Definitely worth it, that sharemod site scares me, lol
Thanks for posting….but it’s very confusing when you flip flop around with the Mod Studio installation info, and constantly try to push becoming a patron?? Are you taking a cut?
Sorry about the flip flopping around. I'm a bit scatter brained and don't rehearse so I guess it shows. Maybe I need to take a more measured approach. As for the Patron thing, of course I don't take a cut! I mention it because I use the Pro version and things I show are only available in it. I need to point that out as I come across things you wouldn't be able to do with the free version. If there are things I can do better or haven't explained in the video, please let me know and I will redo it when I get a chance. Thanks for watching.
Haha I knew you weren’t on the take, it was only meant in jest.
But many thanks for the response and I would definitely be interested in a do-over with info on the free methods of use.
I do like to support creators/devs etc. but only if I have used their stuff first and find it truly valuable and useful. I use the pro version of SimDashboard which is definitely worth paying for due to its multitude of features and functionality.
I have only just started playing so there’s certainly no need for you to rush a new version. I still have a lot to learn about the game and all its intricacies.
I do only follow a small number of ATS/ETS creators on RUclips, as some are just plain irritating and don’t post much that is useful at all. You are one of the few as I do like your style and down to Earth approach
Thanks again ;-)
I have tried to do one for the Kenworth W900 but the image is converted and not lined up with the truck. How do I fix that please!
Hello Michelle. Are you referring to the Ruda W900?
I am not sure what that one is, But I was trying to create a new truck Skin for the Kenworth W900 and it looks off. The images are not where I placed them. Seems like it somehow was sized incorrectly when I finished in Mod Studio 2 and Exported it into game. When adding the skin in game it looks not centered and the images are distorted. I would have to show you because I feel like I am not explaining it very well.@@danmcnarry
ok I fixed it. Forgot to uncheck the UVmap
Good news. That can be a bugger and I have done it more than once or fifteen times!
btw, you break the thought processing of a tutorial when you go off at tangents talking about stuff not directly related to the task at hand. it gets very hard to follow and leads to a lot of "get on with it!"
When I got to the Add Template part where it asks me which truck I want to use, the truck I want to use is not on the list, which is the Freightliner Cascadia. How do I fix this?
Does the path to your Mod Studio 2 installation look like this... C:\Users\username\Documents\Mods Studio 2?
If so, there should be a folder in there called UserVehicles. The XML file for Cascadia goes in there if it is a mod truck. If it's a stock SCS truck then the XML goes here.....C:\Users\username\Documents\Mods Studio 2\Data\ModData\SCS\Vehicle ...in this vehicle folder.
hi dan. i got a message while trying to export from mods studio that says: Mod Manifest Icon Icon Image dimensions is out of bounds Make sure the image width is equal to 276px and the height is equal to 162px
how do i change the image dimensions?
In Mod Studio main window, you will have your Manifest and your Truck or Trailer Skin. The
manifest icon is 276 x 162. If you look at the Mainfest then on the right, select the icon tab. You will likely see that the icon is not selected. Just select Default for now. That should get you over that hurdle. The Truck or Trailer icon will be 256 x 64. It too can be set to default.
So, what's the password for mod studio 2.
my mods studio 2 isn’t loading
Is this a brand new installation? If so you need to go into the application files and find the Activation.exe and activate the app.
@@danmcnarry alright let me see quickly
@@danmcnarry it doesn’t work
It give me a virus on my pc
What gave you a virus?
I tried this on Ruda's 362 and the mod just doesn't show up
Nevermind, forgot to add a SCS file
Whew!
