Today's themes are so watered down. The original MLB and NFL themes from the early 90s were the best, not to mention the old NCAA basketball theme. CBS had the best themes and then ruined them.
The amount of production that went into this probably required a team of a dozen or more people. Now networks would rather save money and air commercials. They also feel like people won't sit through 3 minutes of an open in this every second counts world now.
The nostalgia. The excitement I used to feel watching football back then especially being a Broncos fan watching a game at mile high stadium. Everyone knew it was the pinnacle of football when you played at Mile High Stadium against John Elway in the 90s.
My Jets should’ve maintained the 23-10 lead in Indianapolis in Week 11 that season and even added to it, without giving up anymore points. Then, we would’ve maintained our 10-0 lead in that AFC Championship game in Denver and even added to it without giving up any points and we would’ve won Super Bowl XXXIII against the Minnesota Vikings who should’ve had a perfect season that year and Vinny Testaverde would’ve thrown 8 touchdowns that postseason without any interceptions, including 2 touchdowns in that AFC Divisional game in Giants Stadium against the Jacksonville Jaguars, which would’ve then given Testaverde Super Bowl MVP that year and rightfully so. We’ve been rebuilding since Vinny Testaverde. I was born on 3/28/96. Never mind our 1st 2 seasons under Rex Ryan. Like I said, this is the year that we actually should’ve won the Super Bowl.
There used to be this game in its entirety on youtube but for some reason its not anymore. Probably something to do with copyright. Makes no sense because there are plenty of AFC championship and super bowl games on youtube. I really would like to see this game again in its entirety. The first three quarters were great. And as Jets fan I thought for sure we were going to the super bowl when we went up 10-0. If anyone has this game please post it in full.
SnowyOwl fuck the jets..this game was great..haha bums couldnt cover a kickoff.. that's how they lost...i was so fucking happy...no way this scrub team would be the great Elway..
That's just it. The Byars fumble, fizzled out first drive (missed FG to boot), bad bounce kick off, and 1 bad pick from Vinny. 20 point swing (14 to NYJ minus 6 for DEN). 17-17 game likely comes down to 1 drive, coin flip.
Why? Because they were up 10-0 in the third quarter and the Broncos were playing sloppy? The Broncos weren’t really focused on the game early on and then they got their shit together plus the Jets committed a hail of turnovers.
This was the Jets opportunity to shed the label of the Giants' inferior little brother, and how many opportunities have they had to rid of it. They will always be the second class citizens of New York, with the Giants being one of the class franchises of the NFL.
Brian OSullivan well this year jets had a better record than giants and jets won a super bowl before giants and still hold the biggest super bowl upset, sb 42 is close second
I gotta say football was better back then. The game was fun to watch the bull shit was at a minimum. Now it's commercial after commercial to much talking, u name it.
Frankie Vinci's NFL on CBS theme deserves special mention...by me if nobody else will do it.
Intros were soo much more epic back then
Yeah the days when things had a more serious mythical tone.
Today's themes are so watered down. The original MLB and NFL themes from the early 90s were the best, not to mention the old NCAA basketball theme. CBS had the best themes and then ruined them.
Now it's more corporate.

1:53-2:03 Yep
I love this one this is epic…do you also by any chance have the 2006 Patriots Chargers intro

I believe Westinghouse/Group W owned CBS at that time. It is now under Paramount Global Corporation. 👌
Everyone was watching the falcon Viking overtime. At the beginning of this game
Countdown to the UNOFFICIAL start of the Millennium that is. The new millennium officially started on Jan 1, 2001.
John Elway's final game at Mile High Stadium.
Came here for the epic NFL on CBS intro. Stayed for the glimpse of Bill Belichick before his glory.
Denver has changed so much since
Matt Wells is something wrong with Bill Belichick???????????!!!..he wasn't smiling even then in NY..he's not a smiler huh????????!!!
I think he was mad that the sun was in his eyes.
I wish they'd bring THIS NFL CBS theme back. It sounds more epic than today's.
A game the Jets truly should have won. Parcells is a genius.
How was Kyle Brady?
CBS should’ve kept this theme music
Kinda funny that just as the AFC broke the curse NBC lost that package to CBS only to see the AFC basically dominate Superbowls since.

Yeah I can’t find it either
ruclips.net/video/XqHpi6wcsYM/видео.html the entire game
The first AFC championship game on CBS and not NBC.
+daboys1215 at the time I found it weird to see that!
That really sucks; I wish NBC would have kept AFC games and CBS would still broadcasting NFC games.
But, because Fox Network outbid CBS for the NFC rights, they have continually aired the NFL the longest.
Wasn't this the first year the Jets went back to their old school uniforms and how ironic Parcells gets them into the AFC title game
Parcells insisted on these uniforms
Omgggg, just like the buffalo bills choke in the super bowls, the jets choke in the AFC championchips..
:-(
all on the road.
but, certainly should of won this game. Six turnovers did them in!
And now neither Greg Gumbel and Phil Simms are involved with CBS’ coverage of the National Football League
BTW Vinnie was a backup quarterback for the Carolina Panthers when Jake Delhomme was injured in 2006.
5:29 Mo Lewis, the man who started Tom Brady's career.
Matt Dixon yeah he f'd drew up bad
I was watching that game when it happened.
Matt Dixon pretty sure Brady had a career before Mo Lewis’ hit, he won a national championship and a rose bowl fgs
Jets really should have won this game
honestly, yeah, probably. Even as a Denver fan I'll say that
@@jrino1979I don't know why, the Broncos were the far superior team that year. It was a slippery first half but in the end the better team won.

Once Curtis Martin was starting to get warmed up Parcells tried to let Vinny throw more. Bad idea

I heard that Bellchiek guy turns out alright 😛
Why didnt Aaron Glenn start that game? Was he injured or Mickens just played 1st play
Disney announcer Mark Elliot appeared in this video right before the "NFL on CBS" presentation intro of the time.
Bill Ratner
The good days of football.
Mo Lewis?? I heard he's famous 4 altering the course of NFL history with some hit!!
by the year 2000 Viacom would have control over CBS only to be broken up five years later yet still be controlled by national amusements
But in 2019 they’re both reunited once again as todays ViacomCBS
Now it's Paramount Global Corporation. 👌
Is this the only video of that game? I can’t even find highlights of the game
ruclips.net/video/XqHpi6wcsYM/видео.html
The whole game
The Broncos had Trevor Pryce and Keith Traylor at defensive tackle. that's a lineup.
James B. Their whole team was stacked. I have heard that they cheated salary cap, honestly wouldnt be surprised if that turned out to be true
@@отпирайте Elway took a pay cut and so did other key veterans like Neil Smith and others.
A B still did

You are an absolute fucking moron. Jets are easily one of the most well respected franchises in the NFL and are easily the team of NY.
Giants did the one thing the Jets couldn’t do this year.
back when running backs actually existed
Yea😕
So does anyone have the actual game?
ruclips.net/video/XqHpi6wcsYM/видео.html
1998 AFCCG: NY Jets (10) Denver (23)
This took the Broncos to Super Bowl 33.
Super Bowl XXXIIi: Denver (34) - Atlanta (19)
I believe this was the last game at Mile High Stadium before it got demolished, right.
nope it was demolished in 2001
Bill Parcells........ the man of tricks
Bill Belicheck in another conference championship game.
I gotta say football was better back then. The game was fun to watch the bull shit was at a minimum. Now it's commercial after commercial to much talking, u name it.
But only one player would, become,a meme,SKIP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unc Shay Shay
Now serving them Hot L's every morning to Skiiiup
Typical Jets beating themselves
Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh) did the last voice over.
