13.34 is where we stayed, Radisson Blue. Although we had a campervan, after three weeks camping all over Scandinavia, we fancied a break. Worst pizza I ever had in that hotel, but fabulous view of the bay from our room. Lovely town Kristiansand. We were there on Mid Summer day/eve and there was a huge bonfire next to the sea, with a stage and bands and food and lots and lots of boats and people. Norway is my favourite country in the world for driving, especially towards the north.
And breath...thanks both of you for reducing our stress levels, been a tough few days. Watched as usual before bed last night. So relaxing, like taking a night all. Looking forward to the next episode.🙂🐕🚙
Been loving the videos, new subscriber so just watching them as they come. This video totally blew our minds, never heard of google lens but thanks to you we have been using it on google images of foreign signs, plants and our fish tank!!
We must’ve missed your Bruges video so that shows the importance of you mentioning your previous video at the beginning. We’ll catch up on that one. Looking forward to this series, Norway is high on our wish list 🤩
After reading the ominous title I was pleasantly surprised you guys weren't trashing my country of Norway or having a terrible time here. Please return later you are both most welcome!
Once you're on board that's the start of the holiday for me . I'm like Carol i like the sweet stuff and it looked moreish. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the Norway trip. XX ❤️💙
Fantastic start to your trip. I love your Carpe Diem approach to taking the trip. I have never seen Carol look so happy. Thanks for all the info on parking, prices etc, will be useful to us for next year. 👍👍
Carol had no idea we were going to do the trip. The van makes it easy to be spontaneous. Someone on here told me I need to be more spontaneous recently. 😁👍
An excellent introduction to Norway. The ferry accommodations look very clean and the public areas of the ship seemed interesting to me. I would be very interested to know more about that library at the Nazi museum. The following episodes of your wild camping in the Norwegian countryside will be interesting, too.
Carol and Ken your making this very hard for me being in my Fatherland, I hope you both have a fantastic journey around this beautiful land which has a lot to offer, watch out though for the Mischievous Trolls
always good to get the pole position on the boat ( ex HGV DRIVER) mind you when I came off the ferry from Ireland I would have pulled into the 1st lay-by and let the eijets tramp down the road first and let them rustle the hedges for the Police and Vosa
Very nice cabin. Belly Rules 🤣😂. Quite a nice ship. I am with Carol on the puddings (Graham). Beautiful sunset. First off 👍. Museum was very good. The bunkers were interesting. Parking apps seem a nightmare to sort out. Furry ears for the mic 🤣 thanks for the video 🙏
Totally enjoyable. The size of that ferry was surprising, it looked like a luxury cruise ship to me! I hope they don’t shut things down because of C. At least you got to go before any of that could happen. I’m hooked, and will be waiting for the next installment. Mary
I think ferry companies work out the cost of fuel, tolls, accommodation, a shorter ferry crossing and charge accordingly (Brittany Ferries). If the ferry runs all year round to service truck transport, high season customers partly subsidise the rest of the year. Of course the accountants know exactly how much the ferry actually costs the company per trip. I travelled to Norway from Kiel on a fabulous ferry, still pricey, booked meals at time of booking the ticket, a gamble if sea sick.
Nice video! One may avoid going back up the steep hill on Odderøya by walking around/across the peninsula 😉😁 Walking around it takes 45-60 minutes in total depending on your pace.
I DID enjoy your video of entering Norway! To be fair, I have no recall of a video of yours that I did NOT like. So thank you for that! I am very interested in seeing the upcoming video(s) of the less populated countryside there. I have seen another series of videos of the Norwegian countryside but it was somewhat disjointed and it pushed the idea that it was a fairy tale of a place. And maybe it is. I will soon find out! Great video!!!

Kristiansand looks quite nice (have not been there). You had lovely weather. When I was in Norway in August, it was chilly, but refreshing after the heat at home, which I don't like 😉. Looking forward to your next episode 😊
Great Vlog Ken & Carol. The Ferry was really nice. Kristiansand looks like a nice town, that is where the Ferry from northern Denmark "Hirtshals" comes in as well. There is a really beautiful Ferry sailing from Oslo to Copenhagen, the sights coming down from Oslo are beautiful. Looking forward to next week when you get in to the countryside proper.

Interesting ferry crossing. We were wondering what would happen if we wanted to take our dogs? Do they have pet cabins? What fabulous sunshine you had 😮 Trev n Sue
