My biggest highlight ( although bad) was Hyman’s goal. That was the game changer. Boston had them outshot by a big margin until that goal. Edmonton, then got momentum. Once that happened (like you said) the B’s started doing simple mental mistakes. Merry Christmas to you too brother.
100% agreed with you on this. Edmonton found a way to capitalize on some big Bruins mistakes. I was hoping Korpi would be in net against Calgary too and then figured maybe he'd play last night. Hopefully he's in net against Buffalo.
Yes, indeed. Swayman hasn’t given me any confidence. He’s just great, statistically, but it seems that he doesn’t win when it really counts. He can still learn, however. I would just like to see him study these games from the bench, learn how to compete, and then be a starter. Right now, he shouldn’t be leading any team into a battle. Still, I have hope for him, just not confidence in him. 👍
@youngo1252 He’s definitely been labeled “the no. 1 starter” too early in his career, but he can still be an asset. He’s just not a “leader of the troops” guy at this point. That’s why I’d prefer that he watch & learn for now. ‘Course, the Bruins don’t have any other NHL experienced goalies from which he can learn but that’s whole ‘nother issue! ✌️
Just wanted to say that I liked what I saw from Wahlstrom. It's true he wasn't too confident with the puck but it was his first game in this team. I watched him closely and I liked how he reacted and how he was able to hold the puck and make a play out of it. I believe we'll see more from him. Anyway thanks for the video. Merry christmas :)
I loved the 2-0 lead, but could see the Oilers flying around the third period, Bruins almost protected the 2-0 lead, alas Edmonton tied it and a quick OT exit. I guess wasn’t surprised.
It’s a shame the Bruins lost this one but they have generational talent on their team with McDavid and D. I mean they did a good job defending him in the first few periods but it just seems like they kind of fall apart in the third period sometimes. Good video thanks
Like you said Since we’re doing amazing most of that game the only issues I had was looking at their line changes. I saw pasta in OT allowing McDavid to set up a beautiful goal. Freeman was playing great but at first was sloppy with Hyman’s goal
Thought the first period was a good continuation of the last 2 periods of the previous game. Seemed to sit back a little in the 2nd. Not going to miss Johnson. Wahlstrom gets a pass as he is trying to learn a new system. Thought he was ok but I hope to see more from him as he adjusts and we move forward. Thought we still had a few guys who seemed to disappear as the game progressed and that has to stop
Swayman was ok, the first Oilers goal was pretty weak though. Pasta looks off to me, maybe he’s injured more than they are letting on. The B’s still have holes in their game, but it seems like they are getting smaller. PP still sucks, it’s the same thing waiting for Pasta one timer from the left circle. I’ll take 5 point for the road trip. It could have been much worse
I was expecting a 2-2-1 road trip. Maybe not the way it actually happened but still. Happy with that. Not happy with the nonchalant play by Lohrei and Marchand on that OT goal though.
👍Kastelic goal 👍Ollie got off two shots, one hit, no giveaways. No harm 👉 We all knew we needed an insurance goal. A 1 goal lead is worse than a tie. Of course we'd hear from McJesus by third period. 👍 Jeremy is actually starting to play. 🥳Yes, should've had the first goal. But he's starting to see the puck. Not as good as ullmark, ever... that's never going to happen. It's not intentional, yet the ullmark news alongside a Bruin's tough loss, is like rubbing salt in the wound. 😔 Seems you're as a big Ullmark fan as I am Linus' performance is not a surprise 😐 this is the time of year he kicks into his groove. B's best not let Freddy end up in Ottawa with his Buddy, Brady... Or Matt & the rest of the Eastern conference will not be happy Thanks for the update. 🎄
@bruinsdiehards these little tweaks in the roster usually tell us Sweeney has something up his sleeve. I get confused and I don't want to assume anything - it seems obvious but I'm going to ask you please... When we buy out a contract like Tyler johnson, that frees up cap space for THIS season? Does a 100% buyout count under the salary cap? Or just the remaining amount of money left on the contract when they buy it out? I know this isn't as straightforward as it seems. I started hearing about how buyouts affect the current salary cap a couple years ago - But I just... turned off. 🙉
Lots of good things but they have to clean up the details. Sway has to keep that leg down when hugging the post. Lorhei has got to figure out his assignment. Pasta has got to get his breakaway scoring to 50%. The entire team has got to stop quitting at the end of the shift. You quit when you're off the ice. Pasta is making over 11m and he's only got 12 goals in 34 games.
You can break Swayman’s play down however you want but the equalizer and the OT goals should not have even materialized. Swayman’s goals against after 3 periods was above 900 and a team that was being crapped on after the first game of this road trip ended up 500 and held an explosive Edmonton offence to 2 goals in regulation time. I think the Bruins showed that if the coaches can help them clean up these sloppy areas that they have some potential going forward. After the first game of the road trip I was curious to see how they would respond… I’m impressed. p.s. don’t worry about the standings… if they keep playing above 500 they will be in the running for a playoff spot, and they are 6-3-1 in their last 10.
Bs played a good game for 48+ minutes Edmonton seemed to want it more and had more energy. Whalstrom showed up as a nice addition, when he settled down
Honestly to me for Swayman, this is just karma for a kid who thought he was big boy until he realized that he will have to take on big boy responsibilities. Playing more than half the season as starting goalie is not the same as playing 37-41 games. Not only that but he no longer has the same team in front of him as he did in previous years, adding on to his responsibilities to BE and DO better.
Ulmark had to go sadly, it was a salary cap issue. Swayman kind of sucked last night. But the Bruins went into a defensive shell after they hit 2-0 , keep forechecking, don't let up! One more goal and I think they Win. 3-0 is s good lead . The team is also to blame. 😂😜.
I’m just plain tired of losing to any team that has a record above .500. And Jeremy Swayman might play well but, ultimately, he doesn’t win when it really matters. I just haven’t any confidence in him when it counts. And the Bruins are paying how much?! I’d rather have a goalie who sucks but one who wins these kinds of games. Still, I can’t quit on Boston, it’s merely a hard pill to swallow. Ah, well. “Keep hope alive!” 🤷♂️
The B's are 2-2-1 on this trip, against better quality teams. Now if Swayman can get his stuff together and start playing like the goalie he is. The kid has the talent, he needs to get his head straight. I like the addition of Wahlstrom, much better than some of the lesser players....like Johnson
I told everyone from day one when bruins pto him, there’s a reason why no other team has signed him , he’s not good, old and has attitude problems. He had one good pre season games. He is slow for someone his size. But I know nothing, everyone continued to think he would be an important piece and like a 20 goalscorer since he had a few good pre season games. Not to say I told you so but, I told you so😂
Often they bring pto's in to keep practices competitive. Make prospects compete for their roles. Danton Hainan was a fluke of a PTO. We can never expect that again out of pto's. That was the most efficient way to bring him in at the time. Best of luck to tyler. Just because the player doesn't belong on our team doesn't mean we need to boot him out the locker room door and kick him in the arse! ✌️ 🎄
To add some positivity, all things considered, getting a point on the road in EDM at the end of a road trip isn’t too bad. And maybe Elias will get goin. I also think sway will return to form soon
That line change by Pasta in overtime was pathetic. I rarely have many complaints about him because he alone is like 60% of this team's offense, but a leader of the team just lazily gliding from the slot all the way to the bench while a player with the puck skates towards him is ridiculous. Either skate hard to the bench or at LEAST pretend like you want to make an effort to stop the player with the puck.
I disagree. I think they played 1 great period, 1 decent period and 1 poor period. In the third period, they looked like the puck was a hot potato that they couldn't wait to get rid of. The giveaways have to stop. Luckily the Oilers missed the net on a couple of their prime chances after a giveaway. And Oesterle is godawful. Hampus hurry back, we really need you.
What was your highlight of the game?
My biggest highlight ( although bad) was Hyman’s goal. That was the game changer. Boston had them outshot by a big margin until that goal. Edmonton, then got momentum. Once that happened (like you said) the B’s started doing simple mental mistakes. Merry Christmas to you too brother.
@ merry Christmas
Bruins leading by 2 goals in the first period .. then Swayman happened.
@ yeah that first goal was bad. The second and the third on the team
Kastelic 😃
i like the way we played! Good on elias to get his confidence back.....im liking wallie!
Yeah great game for Elias
Kastelic had a beautiful goal
100% agreed with you on this. Edmonton found a way to capitalize on some big Bruins mistakes. I was hoping Korpi would be in net against Calgary too and then figured maybe he'd play last night. Hopefully he's in net against Buffalo.
Yeah he has to at some point. I was so confused when Korpisalo didn't get the start

Yeah I hope to see more of him tonight against Buffalo. His defensive game was very good too
The break will be nice but they still have 2 home games Friday and Monday! Keep up the good work.
Yeah hoping for a good showing after the break
I loved the 2-0 lead, but could see the Oilers flying around the third period, Bruins almost protected the 2-0 lead, alas Edmonton tied it and a quick OT exit. I guess wasn’t surprised.
I pegged this as a loss before puck drop so kinda happy with a point
That's why you always hear, Play the full 60 minutes, it's often little plays or poor changeups that cost goals.
I was impressed with the effort I saw in the highlights. The game was on way too late to watch😂.
Dude, I cannot with these western road trips. Enough already lol
We're done now, though. Right? Right? 😂
@ for now lol Buffalo next
