For anyone wondering what Contrapoints ACTUALLY said about Blaire, the video's called "Cringe", this topic starts around 1:01:00. Honestly I'm a bit disappointed to see how Blaire misrepresented what Contra said. She doesn't say that calling out Yaniv was wrong (on the contrary, she literally says she's glad to see Blaire "pick on someone who deserves it"). Contra simply challenges the idea that Blaire's main motives are "protecting children" and "exposing a predator" (without discrediting these motives entirely), considering the yaniv-themed merch and the "following Yaniv's make up tutorial" video. Which Contra sums up: ""When I look at this, I don't see a high-minded activist working to protect children and trans people's image. I see a tabloid entertainer who's discovered a way to monetize milking lols from a mentally defective pervert. And I have to say, Blaire, as a connoiseur of trash myself, I'm very entertained by all of this. Following a sexual predator's makeup tutorial, that's genius. I wish I'd thought of that. But just be honest, this isn't activism, this isn't justice, it's a lolcow cult." (1:05:50) Also, Contra talks about Blaire for about 9 minutes (and then mentions her a few times while talking about Rose of Dawn), so it's not really that big a part of the video.

So while it's good for the algorithm for you to hide the word "rape," you may want to find another way of censoring it. Though I don't know how true this info is, so you may need to vet it. RUclips is so commercial. Way to punish people for making it normal to talk about difficult topics. I for one would not feel deterred from buying a product if it was endorsed on a video with heavy topics. In fact, I buy things when I'm sad.

Most ads appear based on your prior viewing history; if you watch 20 car videos and then a cat video, you'll get an ad for a car on the video about cats.

I saw Contra's video and I thought she was more inviting you and Kalvin to examine why it feels so cathartic to blast certain trans people you guys perceive as cringy, and why it's so cringe worthy to see them. She was definitely not trying to defend Jessica, more just questioning the feelings it brings you to take her down, because her video was about cringe. about contra, i feel like blaire didn’t do the best at explaining the situation. natalie has features blaire in a couple of her videos, but blaire was never the main focus. maybe 10-15 minutes out of her usual 45-120 min long videos. and natalie agrees with calling jessica out, she was okay with that, in her video she said it was the extra videos you made of her that were unnecessary such as following her makeup tutorial.

You completely missed Contra's point (no pun intended, lmao). I suggest you go back to the video and rewatch it. Contra was merely pointing out that your goal wasn't limited to catching a predator, seeing how you continued milking Jessica after the debate (like when you replicated the makeup). Contra wasn't a hypocrite, it's more like you completely misunderstood the point.
Blaire was trying to milk her success by selling shirts and makeup tutorials when catching a predator. Nats saw she was not only catching a predator but obsessing over the predator for profit. Nats didn't hate Blaire for condemning Jessica but rather the motivation and the fact she was trying to profit from this rather than focusing on putting a spotlight.
Personally, I love both you and Contra. I think in her video she does specify that at the beginning she really liked that new style of video of yours (calling out predators), that's why I guess she DMed you, but then she just started questioning the whole thing and if it's really worth it. Also, it was really just a small part of the video, not the whole 1.5 hour. I think at the end of the day, you have different viewpoints, but they do not differ as drastically as you might think. Would love to see a new debate/conversation between you two, since you've both grown so much since then.
My thoughts exactly like...I've never really seen videos centered solely on Blaire so it was a lil weird she said Contra made over 5 videos about her like...noo??? Kalvin’s a bully, period. Several trans youtubers/tiktokers have come out and told about how Kalvin and Blaire sent tons of hate their way by making “cringe” videos on them (mostly mocking their appearance) when they were still minors and exploring their gender identity. They were unrelentingly harassed by Kalvin and Blaire’s fans for months after that, which pushed them to the brink of suicide. This is so irresponsible; Kalvin and Blaire know they have a big platform, they’re aware of their influence, and they use it to bully kids, _trans_ kids, who are already vulnerable as it is. It’s just unforgivable as far as I’m concerned.
Contrapoints made a video that dived deep into the social psychology about "cringe culture" and why people act as they do. It was definetly not just a long video where she went after you. Trans individuals are fundamentally different to normal genders, so it makes sense why some wouldn't want to date them, while others are fine with it. Transphobic means you hate trans people. Natalie agreed with Blaire that that person needed to be stopped and agreed with her that they were bad. Which she made it very clear in her video she did not.

Same here! I don't agree with 100 percent of everything Blaire says, but I can't help but be a fan. I don't have to believe everything she believes, her videos are informative and entertaining. A lot of my friends who are also left wing are shocked and horrified to hear that I'm a fan, but I sincerely don't believe any of them have ever watched any of her videos.

I feel like you're intentionally misleading people on Natalie consistently. She's not saying you're wrong for giving her a platform, she just noticed that there was a somewhat sadistic pleasure in humiliating Yaniv to the point that it was obsessive. to be fair, Natalie misleads people on Blaire consistently, and talks about Blaire in her videos far more. She even said in one of them "Come on, Vanessa, feud with me!!" I get the sense that Natalie is a bit envious-- she and Blaire have a comparable amount of influence as trans youtubers, and she finds Blaire to be much more pretty, passable, and of course young. I understand the difference in opinion, as the two women could not be more dissimilar, but the minor hyperfixation seems tied to envy. At least it comes off that way to me.

@@skurinski Hey, so I took your advice and watched the Rose of Dawn video. first and foremost, why put natalie's name in quotes? that's her name. secondly, i think rose does exactly what she blames natalie of: misrepresentation. i don't deny that natalie has used caricatures of people to hyperbolize a point, but rose repeatedly pins natalie as a radical sjw who attacks all right wingers which is absolutely not true. her work is incredibly nuanced, and rose often takes clips out of context to rid the layers of ironic humor and self deprecation. she always uses herself as forms of conversation, and rose really missed that. i respect her, but i also just don't really agree with her viewpoint that natalie is being a hypocrite in her video. i don't think she's humiliating people for entertainment.

I think you might have misinterpreted what contra was trying to say in her video. It's a bit long but if you haven't watched the full thing, maybe consider doing that. Honestly I'm a bit disappointed to see how Blaire misrepresented what Contra said. She doesn't say that calling out Yaniv was wrong (on the contrary, she literally says she's glad to see Blaire "pick on someone who deserves it"). Contra simply challenges the idea that Blaire's main motives are "protecting children" and "exposing a predator" (without discrediting these motives entirely), considering the yaniv-themed merch and the "following Yaniv's make up tutorial" video. Which Contra sums up:

My thoughts exactly like...I've never really seen videos centered solely on Blaire so it was a lil weird she said Contra made over 5 videos about her like...noo??? Contra Points also said that she appreciated BW addressing/apologizing about the whole Riley thing in a considerate way. The purpose of bringing up the JN thing was about how Yaniv did *not* deserve to get so much attention/airtime. When dealing with a dangerous person (like JY), the best way to handle the situation is calling them out, turning them in, and cutting them off. Yaniv fed on the ongoing publicity, even though it was negative.

If I had a guess it's probably because she knows they're mostly not necessarily "bad" people, they just have some views she disagrees with mildly to strongly. She's also secure in herself so feels no need to get nasty I suppose. Her chill attitude is inspirational 🌸✨

I think you might have misinterpreted what contra was trying to say in her video. It's a bit long but if you haven't watched the full thing, maybe consider doing that. She portrays it a bit more nuanced than I think you saw it and as much as I agree with calling out predators (of course), I think she raises some interesting points about what we find entertaining these days.
