She was so important for him. Sad they couldn't have stayed together. But then Nevermind was largely about a different woman and I wouldn't want to ruin that.
@J Tube I am married and I still think and love those who meant something to me in my life. I love them but not in love.. You never forget or stop loving those who touch your life...
SUMMARY: "Journalist with decades of experience lost work, but has an archive of old interviews. The first episode is an interview with Nirvana from 1989, where Kurt Cobain discusses the creative process, intensity required for Nirvana's songs, and hints at "Smells Like Teen Spirit." They talk about being from Aberdeen, Washington, a fishing and lumber town. The band is on their first national tour and not homesick yet. Nirvana writes songs based on anger and frustration towards typical punk rock attitudes. They want to escape and celebrate. They aim to make people conscious and have a purpose with their art."
Idk if it's Lithium, but it isn't Teen Spirit. That was written in early 1991 and this is from 1989. Edit: i'm pretty sure he started writing lithium in 1990 so can't be that. Same for In Bloom. And Breed was written in about october of '89, this is july. But Dive has a demo from 1989 which i believe to predate this, and it was originally going to be in Nevermind, so i'm guessing it's that.
It could actually also be Breed, which would have been called Imodium, and if I’m correct this is the European tour for Bleach? Which is around the time that he wrote it, it was first played live on October 8th, 1989. 🤷🏽♂️
I definitely don't think he was talking about 'Imodium/Breed' as it was a song that didn't fit into mainstream chart singles from 1989 as most chart singles where mostly crappie (in my own opinion) eg. 'New Kids On The Block. Kylie Minogue' etc. 'Imodium/Breed' is a classic punk rock song which unfortunately wouldn't fit as a chart single in that era. Maybe it might have been slightly too early for Kurt to be talking about 'Lithium' or 'In Bloom' in '89 as the song he was talking about as a new pop direction song he was hinting about. But we all know he certainly wasn't talking about ',Teen Spirit' in '89'. I actually now think that there is a good possibility that he was actually talking about 'Sliver' as that song definitely falls within that era, and is far more (if you like) radio friendly than previously released songs on Bleach. 'Sliver' was releaded as a single and had a more popier feel to it like 'About A Girl'. Someone mentioned 'Dive' which was released as a B-Side on the 'Sliver' single. So yeah, after thinking he was possibly talking about 'Lithium' but then on further reflection, thinking it may be slightly too early for him to be talking about that as a new popier direction song, I now think there's a good chance that the song he was talking about was probably 'Sliver'. In any case it is all speculation and is best guess when it comes to the song that fits into that popier style and year this interview was broadcast. But what is a 100% certainty is it wasn't 'Teen Spirit'!
they're taking down some interviews, not many from your channel but they're doing it, hope someone is out there archiving this stuff, I know we all need a good nirvana binge sometimes
He probably doesn’t get loads from the royalties as about a third of the songs on the album don’t have him on drums (Dale Crover played on ‘Floyd The Barber’, ‘Downer’ and ‘Paper Cuts’)
I love listening to them talk in their earlier days with such an optimistic tone and hearing them laugh, enjoying their freedom of opinion. Treuly is amazing to hear and feel.
And they were so damn happy at this point! He was always laughing and joking and was so positive about the future in his interviews. Loved being on tour... loved seeing America... And 3 years later he was the biggest music star in the world and and seriously depressed.
ibanez black eagle bass krist was throwing at his amp all the time today they're worth like over 1000 dollars easy(non reissue). Same with the univox guitars kurt was smashing, 600 to over a thousand dollars. just smashed. just goes to show how little 60's gear was valued in the late 80's i guess
It seems that before the Fender Mustang, Jaguar, and Jazzmaster were declared the official guitars of the indie rock scene of the 90’s they were looked at as outdated body styles that didn’t fit with the more modern 80’s aesthetic.
1989 "What do you think of touring then, is a good escape?" Kurt Cobain: "I love it. I love it. I am seeing America for free well, while working 2 hours a night, 2 nights." It is amazing how much things changed. There is this interview and another one on video from a similar time, a really HD video interview from about 1989 or early 1990 and they are so happy and on an exciting journey. Then just a year or two later, he was like a completely different guy....
@@startervisions Don't need to be there to see the change. Look up that HD video interview. He is so happy, his skin and hair look healthy, he is excited for the future. Then look at the HD video MTV interview from late 1993 and he is a total mess, looks like shit, slow speech, lying constantly, keeps talking about killing himself, etc.. etc... 6 months later he was dead. These early interviews really show the difference.
Saying that Kurt wrote Smells Like Teen Spirit around this time is simply idiot, your options for around this time are Stain, Been a Son, Breed, and (maybe) Dive.
Tracey was a great woman
She got Kurt a guitar while on the road.
She loved him and still does.
She was so important for him. Sad they couldn't have stayed together. But then Nevermind was largely about a different woman and I wouldn't want to ruin that.

But he didn't love her that way.She couldn't accept that. She just wasn't the One. Not many people find "the one".
You know her?
Still does?
Dude she's married 💀💀

Dude in the middle got kicked out of both Nirvana and Soundgarden right before they got huge. He joined the Army and became a legendary SFO.

I wonder if Chad gets royalties from bleach?

I like Nirvana.But I hate drugs.
Lol Love America style is...... War! 😂
But I still can't figure if he was evil and a user,or not
he was a man that was gifted why you crazy?
I love listening to them talk in their earlier days with such an optimistic tone and hearing them laugh, enjoying their freedom of opinion. Treuly is amazing to hear and feel.
It's so wild to think that at this point he was just considered another guy in a band.
That's probably the way he liked it.
And they were so damn happy at this point! He was always laughing and joking and was so positive about the future in his interviews. Loved being on tour... loved seeing America... And 3 years later he was the biggest music star in the world and and seriously depressed.
Always respected how nirvana always gave other bands props instead of just talking about there band.
Well that changed once nirvana became. Popular
Nice to hear a not so jaded and tired/fed up with fame Kurt Cobain
