No you don’t need stupid mods for fall damage. Just hit jump before you land and you basically parkour roll. You can fall from any height and not take any damage

@@beerus553 the issue with signs is you only have one button to use them. The game makes you switch back and forth. Therefore I only use Quen because it's the most useful.

Me fam, I played this many years ago on the PS4 and only just got it on Steam around a couple days ago. Been playing in ultra and my God it's gorgeous, I'm so addicted and playing on Hard mode this time for a different experience, loving it!
I know people talk about the near pure manticore build being God tier... and they're not really wrong. but I found a way to make adjustments to this build to give you the feline bonuses that 'we' all like so much & take advantage of the manticore's toxicity increase. *For NG+* Swap out the Feline chest that you kept as master level.. for the Manticore chest. (Enchant it to lighten it.)... and instead of the random potion imbibed perk. select Metabolic control. (A swap perk locations accordingly.)... Yes, you lose some vitality from not having 2 green skills in one of the packs of 3 slots. but you can now imbibe 4 decoctions. (troll, Water hag, Exidna, Ekimmara.) You can now cast Quen to heal yourself between fights. (Any skill that uses stamina heals vitality) and enchant the two swords you use with Invigoration (When at max vitality any vitality increases turn to added damage upon your next strike.) ... Combine all that together with proper oils. and you can run with 4 decotions and make use of no less than 3 potions at a given time. if you stagger when you drink them (So that your initial Toxicity spike wears off.) Meaning you can also run with Full Moon, Tawny owl... and swap out any of the others as needed depending upon the fight in question. And you can get your damage increase in excess of 220% when it's spiked at its highest. *Edit as of the Next Gen Update* They nerfed the Manticore chest piece. It's now only 5 points of Toxicity increase, so it hurts you being able to use potions on top of the 4 decoctions. (With all recipe's learned, and changing nothing else from this build, I am at a max toxicity of 219. (So, any potions over a 20-point spike to imbibe are out if you are using the decoctions that I recommended.)
@@Storyteller_max want to know what's interesting? That nerf i referenced was a bug. The chest is back to 10 points of excess toxickty. So i am probably going to do another edkt in a few days. Adjusting for the changes to other things. Short version, my new recommendation is to use the legs and chest from manticore for 20 points plus the steel cat school sword with either same for silver or aerondight. But given how buggy some things in the game are, i'm waiting to see what is, in fact, a bug, and what may be an intended nerf. Not that big of a deal, this is probably my single most liked youtube comment, ever. Naturally, for me at leasg, i came back to it to help out others who would come looking for info. Esoecially given how much has changed mechanically since this vid was posted. (Max of 3 points in each skill instead of 5. That changes a lot of the math.) Maxing the same skills as this nuild describes is still very effective though. Just takes less points to get to final build. I think i hit it right outisde of white orchard with a few p.o.p.'s and level 53.

@@Storyteller_max It does change some of the numbers. But the game also made adjustments to the health numbers of the things you fight. So, you don't notice it as a nerf. I still play the build described above. (Mostly) I had to adjust the armor/weapon combos because you end up with less total max toxicity. I had to scramble to get my maximum toxicity above 225. (The threshold to be able to run the 4 decoctions and use any of the single potions you can craft at least once. Like Black Blood for when fighting vampires. But the build itself is still very viable. It now has the benefit that it takes less time to have everything that makes it work. The extra points also allow for you to play around with your build in end game by just buying other skills with your excess points.
@@robertdavis5693 Honestly those extra points are a godsend for me. I'm not necessarily looking for the most OP build. I just want to be comfortable enough in Death march, and still be able to play around with gameplay diversity, and fashion, for more fun. Now being able to switch out the cat gear, for bear or manticore gear (whatever), replacing the corresponding school technique skill, replacing the igni tongue for yrden traps etc... it's what I'm after. That's why this hybrid build guide is perfect, and your comments are super helpful
Hey Cowboy, I just want to make a suggestion with the decoction choice. The Ekimmara decoction gives you vitality as you deal damage and from what I've tested, it scales with the amount of damage you do and the Water Hag decoction, which increases damage by 50% at full health, makes you absurdly powerful if you face a large number of enemies
I thought so as well. Also this build gives you over 15 000 health so the Troll decoction is useless. It is better to use Ekimmara.I was also thinking about Forktail - increases attack power when combining fast and strong atatacksand about Gryffin - taking damage increases damage resistence.
yep, that's what i use. water hag, ekimmara, and alghoul (most use troll but i see little benefit from it, esp when i usually have gourmet turned on unless I REALLY need the 25% dmg reduction alchemy talent swapped in for a contract monster like 30lvs above me or w/e).
I've been testing out a few combinations and the Ekhidna/Archgriffin combo isn't that effective nor is it very consistent imo. Your suggestion on Water Hag/Ekimmara works so much better. I especially also like to use it w/ Troll and Shallow.

great build, I use nearly the same. You can combine the healing of ekhidna decoction with water hag which gives you 50% more damage at full health, even more overpowered.
Great guide. 5 years later and this guide and build are still relevant and OP. I just started another playthru on NGplus due to my recent delve into the Netflix series. So many things I forgot about in this game. I had to change some gear around because I was too OP in the game.
With this build can you use any armor set like for example I like the wolf school armor the best because I think it looks Cool or do I have to use this armor set??
@@hazel9193 You can absolutely use the wolf school set. Just swap out the Cat School techniques for Griffen. Remember, you won't get all that extra critical attack power that you get from the Feline set but you are still so OP. The point is to have fun, and if wearing the Wolf set makes u happy then go for it.
Thank you for the video! This build made a total difference for me!! I also got hold of the Manticore armor, as somebody suggested in the comments below, and is fantastic! I can use four decoctions and even another potion like black blood or killer whale.

This build has been nerfed but its still very strong. You need to have heightened tolerance though so you can have at least 2 decoctions running without damaging you. (Personally recommend water hag with ekimmara)
@@penguinguy50 I replaced endure pain. I run ekimmara (heals on hits) and water hag (50% damage increase at full health) so I dont have to use potion or food to heal. I also replaced hunter instinct with battle frenzy for more crit chance

I suggest replacing the troll decoction with Gourmet in the brown skill tree which will allow all consumed food to last 20 minutes in real time. On top of that, troll decoction only restores 20 hp during combat whereas certain consumables such as the chicken sandwich can restore 80 in and out of combat. Just buy a bunch and hotkey it and you're set for life

I beat the Witcher on death march 3 times and pro tip if your playing on higher difficulty get the gourmet skill in the general tab it regenerates vitality for 20 minutes
Starter this game a few days ago I'm very low level and I literally downed 4 potions and didn't realise it was killing me. Then I tried eating like 10 apples to counteract it 😂 noob moves

I managed to gain up to 40 hours of free time a week, and I’m not even exaggerating. This quarantine really was a bless for me, I 100% the Witcher 3 in two weeks (no gwent though). Now going to play it again on death march and getting into gwent to earn the last trophies :) In my normal life it would have taken at least 3 months

This build still works. For those asking why their stats don't match, go back to the main screen and use all 4 of the decoctions, then go back and check your Stats!
What a fantastic build! I'm level 25 at this time, and was going for a signs/tank build, moving between Ursine and Griffin sets. But this is great! I'm getting myself a potion of clearance and re-assigning my ability points to focus more on toxicity-alchemy-based abilities in the tree. Though I do want to check out a signs-main build that can non-stop spam signs, I'm looking to main on combat/versatility in the short and medium runs. I'm probably at 30% of the game, so I'm sure I'll have the time to experiment! Great video, great build! Thumbs up!
I think one of the best and more flexible builds is going for alchemy but not too heavy: you only need to increase your toxicity threshold and increase your mutagen bonus, that way your stats will be buffed with decoctions/potions and the mutagens of course: so basically you just increased your vitality/damage/signs/survival with only 2/3 alchemy skills. Then with this as a starting point you can literally go any build you want, you can go for: - a full fast attack or strong attack build, a mix of both, you can opt in whirl and/or rend if you like them (personally I'm not crazy about them) depending on your playstyle. - an adrenaline generation build, this one is pretty good. - you could go signs, literally any mix of them, or just focus on the ones you like. - even an adrenaline/signs build with the two general skills: one that makes adrenaline points increase sign intensity and the one that makes signs generate adrenaline points - even more focus on alchemy, boosting your vitality if that's your think (great for survival), or focus in oils or bombs if that's your playstyle. I think the oil ones is op if you use the right oil. And the bombs one is super fun.

For steel swords the "toussaint steel sword" is nice but both "Gesheft" and the "Hen Gaidth" feature higher base damage (with the same bonuses to critical strike chance and multiplier). I think with "Whirl" high percentages to cause longer lingering damage over time effects are a waste of good slots. If you choose potions that heal you and stay at full life anyways you would gain amazing synergy from the runewrights "Invigoration". Otherwise I personally find "Prolongation" broken, as it increases "White Raffards Decoction" 3s total damage immunity by 0.5s each time you hit, which is a lot with "Whirl". I personally prefer "Severance" though, because with a sword that hits enemies half a screen away it cant get any easier.

I've been looking forward to this for quite some time now, I absolutely love your play style, and needless to say I'll be playing your god mode build for sure, I already have a very similar style, but all the little details are such a help. I'm level 33 now, so I've definitely got my work cut out. Can't wait for the "summer of witcher" streams, keep up the awesome work, cowboy!!
Just a note, because this build regenerates vitality quickly and you often open battles at full health and rapidly regain vitality with troll and ekhidna decoctions constantly bouncing you back up to full health, the water hag decoction can also be very useful. At full vitality it increases attack power by 50%, which is pretty good. And the Ekhidna decoction restores such an insane amount of health, depending on the situation, you can run Ekhidna, ArchG, and Water Hag, and do even more insane damage using the formula you just outlined. I'm 16 levels below you and have not even unlocked the advanced skill tree, just using all superior level feline gear, not having all the perks you have aquired, and this build still has a very high damage output and very high survivability with the massive health pool you have amassed. This is not for early game, but once you have all the decoctions made and oils maxed out, alchemy becomes crazy strong. Great build.
@@Ogilla 500 Crowns isn't that bad, and 99% of the time in the game they just let you fight them instead of paying or delusion. Delusion really isn't that good it's more of a quality of life thing
Put together a NG+ melee build that sustains 10k+ Silver Sword DPS. It's somewhat of a glass cannon build, but you put out so much damage it's ridiculous.
my NG+ build sticks with ~4.2k silver dps before euphoria and any pots kick in,and in combat (with only decoctions) i usually sit at 7-8k (but get 50% more dmg at max hp). I don't want to raise my dps too much as most things die in a hit or three anyway and that's already annoying to me. I'm lv 66 and still using toussaint tourney armor that i started ng+ with (only thing that ever changes is the steel sword - Teigr atm). Nice thing is that my build sits at ~18k hp (lv 66), 73%/73%/73%/65%/28% for the 3 melee resistance, monster, and elemental and somethin like 25/90/40 for poison/bleed/burn, along with over 700 armor and 25% extra resistance vs monsters from alchemy talent. So far I've easily taken down monster contract quests and kill quests that are 30+ levels above me. All straight combat, no fancy tricks with signs or anything. Only thing odd about my build is I somehow (I think I know how it happened but I can't test it to see) kept my 65% monster base resistance between a gear swap (monster gear -> plate/human gear) even with my toussaint plate armor (which should be 73/73/73/0 - 0% for monsters). And it is not just a char sheet bug as far as I can tell with some testing. Lucky me I guess? I don't like cheats but I swear this game is so easy even on death march with upscaling turned on in NG+ that i said what the hell. I think once I get legendary superior/master ursine armor I may just swap to that at that time. I just really hate the fact that I don't see myself changing anything except the steel sword for god knows how long. Aerondight alone makes ng+ a lot less exciting since the most exciting upgrades (silver swords) are now just vendor fodder for the most part
I should hav enever listened to all the ppl saying to make SURE to get Aeondight and even the extra mutation stuff before starting NG+..... Really killed it for me since I'm a min/maxer mostly. If ihave superior equipment I'll use it. Everyone talkin about how you should get it to "prepare" for ng+ death march blah blah.... shit is retardedly easy now. Hell, I played most of my first playthrough with death march on with upscaling but I wasn't sure it was even working cause i initially started he game at sword&story cause I'm noobish at games like these (or so i thought?)... that, and I didn't get the death march achievement even tho I beat it with death march on.

Just wanted to let you know for future reference that in general when there are difficulty achievements you have to start the game with that difficulty turned on and you can never lower it otherwise someone could theoretically because 99.9% of the game on the easiest difficulty and then turn the difficulty to the hardest right before they start or beat the final boss/quest/etc

by the way i know its pretty late but, about that hoodie on Grandmaster Feline armor, if you have the console commands enabled enter additem('Geralt robbery mask'), that will spawn you an item Street Ruffian Mask (doesn't show an icon) in the Quest Items inventory, and when you put in in the Pocket slot, it removes the hoodie, while not covering your face at all :)

Might I say that why the need to invest in both fast AND heavy attacks? Those skill points can be used in better places. Sure "Endure pain" increases max vitality but you still suffer the negative effects of unsafe toxicicity, exchanging it with "Heightened tolerance" allows you to chug without fear of any negative effects of toxicity at all. Another amazing skill is "Refreshment" which heals 25% of your total hp every-time you chug a potion or decoction. Since you are using poisoned blades, "Fixative" prevents oils from ever losing charges and "Protective coating" reduces damage taken by 25% when you have a sword covered in proper oil. Another amazing skill combo is "Bomb creation" and "Cluster bomb" the burst damage is massive and dealt on a wide aoe (with grapeshot). Euphoria is OP af though
True, alchemy-combat hybrid is ridiculously powerful. Puts those quen spamming sign buids to shame. BTW love your builds from DS3. I'm running that OP CMW/DMB gotthard build right now and it wrecks people left and right.

With this build levity and manticore armor you can swap troll decoction for ekimmara decoction and every time you damage enemies you gain hp. I never found myself in trouble as long as I keep it toxicity up in battle by using superior tawny oil
I know this is old but if you go to the river wright, the rejuvination runs allows you to get 25% stamina with every fatal blow, so if you get a big group of enemies using "beyblade", would continue near indefinitely until all death
Sooner is mathematically/theorycraft possible. But realistically the 5 on Touissant and the majority of the story-locked Places of Power cannot yet be reached by that point on NG+ *Especially now that NG+ scales to your level when you start it.*

May I ask why you don't use the Toussiant KNIGHT's Steel Sword? It's stats are :- 300 Armour Pierce 30 Quen Sign 100% Crit hit bonus 20 Crit chance 15 Burning
Newuxtreme probably because bleed and burn outweigh just burn but with better stats I guess or it's pretty easy to miss a single item in a massive game like this
Runnin something similar but at a lower level at the moment. Only change I'd suggest is adding the Deflection runewrite skill to your armor. Being completely immune to arrows is awesome.
@@itsknowledge6139 potions you have to use ahead of time. They make things easier but they aren't actively contributing to whether the combat is "fun" or not. Signs would be cool, except you can only use one of them at a time and have to pause the game to switch between them. That IMO takes away from the fun. You're fighting a cool monster and all of a sudden you have to stop and flip through signs. If they implemented a control scheme where you could use different buttons to cast different signs it would be much more fun and fluid. As it is, I'd rather just keep Quen selected as it's clearly the most useful at any given moment.
@@peoples2296 there's a way to swap signs without pausing the game, while you're defending with your sword you can use the directional buttons to change them.
I have been wearing my nifty glasses ever since I got them at the auction back in my normal playthrough. If you equip them (or any mask), the hood disappears. I always thought ppl used a mod to get that hood until i once (moooooonths later) unequipped my glasses for a quest item in ng+ and noticed i had a hood while wearing cat gear! The glasses are pimp as hell, imo, lol. Esp with high lv ursine armor
There is a better steel sword called the belhaven blade you can get the diagram from a lower eastern hidden treasure near drowners and some water in blood and wine
I personally prefer the crit damage myself, but thats just me. I don't think it really matters as once you got the base of the build down with 230% damage from Euphoria and max crit% you really just face roll everything anyways on DeathMarch and yes even DM on NGP is just faceroll, no real challenge at all. Sure you could use any sword :) EDIT: You know I stand corrected, after looking up the Toussant steel sword I think It is better overall with the armor piercing and extra stats, even with 25% less crit damage. Although I think both are fine. I think I'll swap sword, thank you for this.
I do, but I'm 83 in NG+ so I have more skills than he does. However, nearly everything is the same especially the alchemy tree + Euphoria, but I use razor focus with the skill that increases sword and sign damage with adrenaline points because adrenaline point gain is ABSURDLY high. Because of the bear armor being more geared toward strong attacks and adrenaline I have a couple skills more toward that but that's just preference. I've also worked in some alternate sign usage but that's because I'm so powerful I wanted to mix up gameplay a bit.
Getting to this build rather late, I know, but a recent Steam sale made me want to replay this as I've never done any of the DLC (which I hear is incredible). I'm only level 14 at the moment, but one suggestion I would make for the leveling up process would be to swap Undying (Tier 2 Battle Trance) for Fleet Footed (Tier 2 Defense), since you are going for a Feline armor build and are trying to maintain Adrenaline as much as possible, meaning one is going to be very keen on the dodge mechanics while leveling up. It's a minor point, since you won't be using either of them late game, but I feel it fits better with the overall theme of the build, personally. Either way, it's an amazing build and I appreciate you sharing it with us!
This, and any Euphoria + Synergy build, is just too OP. Trivializes death march. If you wanna get even more OP. Water hag decotion (+50% damage at full health) and the enchantment that turns any vitality regen when your at full HP into extra damage (up to 50% IIRC) makes for some crazy high damage. Worth it over 3 bleed runes IMO. Great video though. Loved the DLC.
Severance is still a better Runeword. With Severence Whirl hits everything. Plus you attack so fast that it out DPS's an extra 50% attack, if you manage to get it and keep it.

You don't need to try hes build, with the amount of mutagens and gear you can get at that point in the game, you can get a almost any build to reck everything
Maybe somebody already commented but i haven't see it. In my experience: All critical effects (bleeding, poison, burning) do dmg that is percentage of target's HP, therefore it is GREAT for enemies with great HP pool. So it is not scaled with your attack power. The problem is with bleeding from Crippling Strikes talent because it is FLAT dmg (it does exact dmg always = not scaled with anything). So, I agree that Crippling strikes are bad almost always but can MAYBE good for lots of low hp enemies, like wolves, nekkers, etc. Didn't test it tho. And btw, Poisoned Blades % is more that 15%, if you use high level oils. 35% is max if I remember well (from that talent only).
Awesome build! Having some real fun with it! Might seem like a daft question but would this still be effective with the Wolven armour? I just prefer the way it looks, even it's Grandmaster bonus' are pretty crap!
demonstrating the five chivalric values in the basegame also applies. i went into blood and wine post game immediately roamed. aerondight was the first thing i claimed having only paid the boy the five coin after i ignored the ditches and rode off instead of venturing to the tourney.
It looks fun, but it's really not that OP. The guy is really freaking fragile compared to other OP builds around. I got a build at ~ level 55 or so who takes almost no damage from guards and has high stamina regen, intensity and damage through severance. When it's higher at New Game Plus, it's just gonna be insane..
If you want an invincible build don't ask me for it because I had a regular attack/signs build with not much else. I beat the game in broken bones with a pretty weak build and im proud of that.
WhiteBones I went heavy and quick with combat but I mixed it up by adding skills to increase quen and yarden then a few for alchemy and it works well so is that a hybrid style as that's what I was trying to go for

Ursine (with levity) with Euphoria, alchemy with fast attack skill, all Great Red Mutagens in mutagen's slot to get more % for attack power, even NG+ on DM is just to EZ
succubus, ancient leshen, grave hag, best combo plus you can push basilisk too if you use the general talent to increase 30 toxicity and full manticore set, pop basilisk decoction then with 4 decoctions active remove the talent and reequip your armor of choice, you'll have maxed out toxicity and the most you can squeeze out of euphoria
Everybody focuses so hard on DPS in this game for some reason. I don't understand it. You do not need DPS at any point in this RPG - there are no damage checks. All you need are utility/quality of life talents and defensive stuff. Protective coating + resistances on armor, then quality of life. There is no advantage to being a glass cannon in this game compared to being invulnerable on death march
@@gumenski Well if that's what you want you could always play on a lower difficulty. Personally I prefer a harder challenge, but to each their own I guess.
Now, I haven’t watched the whole video, so I may be making an ass of myself, but if I may make a suggestion, I would suggest you put the Severance runeword on your swords. It increases the range of Whirl by 1.1 yards, and Rend by 1.9 yards, making them far more useful, and look a lot cooler.

@@beerus553 the issue with signs is you only have one button to use them. The game makes you switch back and forth. Therefore I only use Quen because it's the most useful.

I know people talk about the near pure manticore build being God tier... and they're not really wrong. but I found a way to make adjustments to this build to give you the feline bonuses that 'we' all like so much & take advantage of the manticore's toxicity increase. *For NG+* Swap out the Feline chest that you kept as master level.. for the Manticore chest. (Enchant it to lighten it.)... and instead of the random potion imbibed perk. select Metabolic control. (A swap perk locations accordingly.)... Yes, you lose some vitality from not having 2 green skills in one of the packs of 3 slots. but you can now imbibe 4 decoctions. (troll, Water hag, Exidna, Ekimmara.) You can now cast Quen to heal yourself between fights. (Any skill that uses stamina heals vitality) and enchant the two swords you use with Invigoration (When at max vitality any vitality increases turn to added damage upon your next strike.) ... Combine all that together with proper oils. and you can run with 4 decotions and make use of no less than 3 potions at a given time. if you stagger when you drink them (So that your initial Toxicity spike wears off.) Meaning you can also run with Full Moon, Tawny owl... and swap out any of the others as needed depending upon the fight in question. And you can get your damage increase in excess of 220% when it's spiked at its highest.
*Edit as of the Next Gen Update*
They nerfed the Manticore chest piece. It's now only 5 points of Toxicity increase, so it hurts you being able to use potions on top of the 4 decoctions. (With all recipe's learned, and changing nothing else from this build, I am at a max toxicity of 219. (So, any potions over a 20-point spike to imbibe are out if you are using the decoctions that I recommended.)

@@Storyteller_max want to know what's interesting? That nerf i referenced was a bug. The chest is back to 10 points of excess toxickty. So i am probably going to do another edkt in a few days. Adjusting for the changes to other things. Short version, my new recommendation is to use the legs and chest from manticore for 20 points plus the steel cat school sword with either same for silver or aerondight. But given how buggy some things in the game are, i'm waiting to see what is, in fact, a bug, and what may be an intended nerf.
Not that big of a deal, this is probably my single most liked youtube comment, ever. Naturally, for me at leasg, i came back to it to help out others who would come looking for info. Esoecially given how much has changed mechanically since this vid was posted. (Max of 3 points in each skill instead of 5. That changes a lot of the math.) Maxing the same skills as this nuild describes is still very effective though. Just takes less points to get to final build. I think i hit it right outisde of white orchard with a few p.o.p.'s and level 53.

The max 3 points instead of 5 doesn’t come with any changes in the stats, so it just looks like you can hit every build earlier than before or am I wrong? @@Storyteller_max It does change some of the numbers. But the game also made adjustments to the health numbers of the things you fight. So, you don't notice it as a nerf.
I still play the build described above. (Mostly) I had to adjust the armor/weapon combos because you end up with less total max toxicity. I had to scramble to get my maximum toxicity above 225. (The threshold to be able to run the 4 decoctions and use any of the single potions you can craft at least once. Like Black Blood for when fighting vampires. But the build itself is still very viable. It now has the benefit that it takes less time to have everything that makes it work. The extra points also allow for you to play around with your build in end game by just buying other skills with your excess points.
@@robertdavis5693 Honestly those extra points are a godsend for me. I'm not necessarily looking for the most OP build. I just want to be comfortable enough in Death march, and still be able to play around with gameplay diversity, and fashion, for more fun.
Now being able to switch out the cat gear, for bear or manticore gear (whatever), replacing the corresponding school technique skill, replacing the igni tongue for yrden traps etc... it's what I'm after. That's why this hybrid build guide is perfect, and your comments are super helpful
Hey Cowboy, I just want to make a suggestion with the decoction choice. The Ekimmara decoction gives you vitality as you deal damage and from what I've tested, it scales with the amount of damage you do and the Water Hag decoction, which increases damage by 50% at full health, makes you absurdly powerful if you face a large number of enemies

I thought so as well. Also this build gives you over 15 000 health so the Troll decoction is useless. It is better to use Ekimmara.I was also thinking about Forktail - increases attack power when combining fast and strong atatacksand about Gryffin - taking damage increases damage resistence.
BTW I must thumbs this up as I use this combo and its how you see so many people hitting 100k crits, it works so good.
yep, that's what i use. water hag, ekimmara, and alghoul (most use troll but i see little benefit from it, esp when i usually have gourmet turned on unless I REALLY need the 25% dmg reduction alchemy talent swapped in for a contract monster like 30lvs above me or w/e).
I've been testing out a few combinations and the Ekhidna/Archgriffin combo isn't that effective nor is it very consistent imo. Your suggestion on Water Hag/Ekimmara works so much better. I especially also like to use it w/ Troll and Shallow.

great build, I use nearly the same. You can combine the healing of ekhidna decoction with water hag which gives you 50% more damage at full health, even more overpowered.
Great guide. 5 years later and this guide and build are still relevant and OP. I just started another playthru on NGplus due to my recent delve into the Netflix series. So many things I forgot about in this game. I had to change some gear around because I was too OP in the game.
With this build can you use any armor set like for example I like the wolf school armor the best because I think it looks

@@hazel9193 You can absolutely use the wolf school set. Just swap out the Cat School techniques for Griffen. Remember, you won't get all that extra critical attack power that you get from the Feline set but you are still so OP. The point is to have fun, and if wearing the Wolf set makes u happy then go for it.

Thank you for the video! This build made a total difference for me!! I also got hold of the Manticore armor, as somebody suggested in the comments below, and is fantastic! I can use four decoctions and even another potion like black blood or killer whale.

This build has been nerfed but its still very strong. You need to have heightened tolerance though so you can have at least 2 decoctions running without damaging you. (Personally recommend water hag with ekimmara)
What should you replace?
@@penguinguy50 I replaced endure pain. I run ekimmara (heals on hits) and water hag (50% damage increase at full health) so I dont have to use potion or food to heal. I also replaced hunter instinct with battle frenzy for more crit chance

Great commentary for a start and very well described, have only been playing for short time but will attempt this build asap, was pleasantly surprised with the lack of points in Signs as well as a large number within Alchemy but from video appears very effective, congrats on great video
I suggest replacing the troll decoction with Gourmet in the brown skill tree which will allow all consumed food to last 20 minutes in real time. On top of that, troll decoction only restores 20 hp during combat whereas certain consumables such as the chicken sandwich can restore 80 in and out of combat. Just buy a bunch and hotkey it and you're set for life

I beat the Witcher on death march 3 times and pro tip if your playing on higher difficulty get the gourmet skill in the general tab it regenerates vitality for 20 minutes

Andrew Moore I feel you bro, I still work too but from home and I’m saving the time to go/go-back from the office so I’m very lucky I guess. I managed to gain up to 40 hours of free time a week, and I’m not even exaggerating. This quarantine really was a bless for me, I 100% the Witcher 3 in two weeks (no gwent though). Now going to play it again on death march and getting into gwent to earn the last trophies :)

This build still works. For those asking why their stats don't match, go back to the main screen and use all 4 of the decoctions, then go back and check your Stats!
Nice to see a build that looks actually fun to play. I've been using a rend build and it's pretty boring and sucks the instant I try to use any signs.
What a fantastic build! I'm level 25 at this time, and was going for a signs/tank build, moving between Ursine and Griffin sets. But this is great! I'm getting myself a potion of clearance and re-assigning my ability points to focus more on toxicity-alchemy-based abilities in the tree. Though I do want to check out a signs-main build that can non-stop spam signs, I'm looking to main on combat/versatility in the short and medium runs. I'm probably at 30% of the game, so I'm sure I'll have the time to experiment!

I think one of the best and more flexible builds is going for alchemy but not too heavy: you only need to increase your toxicity threshold and increase your mutagen bonus, that way your stats will be buffed with decoctions/potions and the mutagens of course: so basically you just increased your vitality/damage/signs/survival with only 2/3 alchemy skills.
Then with this as a starting point you can literally go any build you want, you can go for:
- a full fast attack or strong attack build, a mix of both, you can opt in whirl and/or rend if you like them (personally I'm not crazy about them) depending on your playstyle.
- an adrenaline generation build, this one is pretty good.
- you could go signs, literally any mix of them, or just focus on the ones you like.
- even an adrenaline/signs build with the two general skills: one that makes adrenaline points increase sign intensity and the one that makes signs generate adrenaline points
- even more focus on alchemy, boosting your vitality if that's your think (great for survival), or focus in oils or bombs if that's your playstyle. I think the oil ones is op if you use the right oil. And the bombs one is super fun.

1234 5678 in the blood and wine dlc you unlock the mutations which give you the extra slots
For steel swords the "toussaint steel sword" is nice but both "Gesheft" and the "Hen Gaidth" feature higher base damage (with the same bonuses to critical strike chance and multiplier). I think with "Whirl" high percentages to cause longer lingering damage over time effects are a waste of good slots.
If you choose potions that heal you and stay at full life anyways you would gain amazing synergy from the runewrights "Invigoration". Otherwise I personally find "Prolongation" broken, as it increases "White Raffards Decoction" 3s total damage immunity by 0.5s each time you hit, which is a lot with "Whirl".
I personally prefer "Severance" though, because with a sword that hits enemies half a screen away it cant get any easier.

I've been looking forward to this for quite some time now, I absolutely love your play style, and needless to say I'll be playing your god mode build for sure, I already have a very similar style, but all the little details are such a help. I'm level 33 now, so I've definitely got my work cut out. Can't wait for the "summer of witcher" streams, keep up the awesome work, cowboy!!
Just a note, because this build regenerates vitality quickly and you often open battles at full health and rapidly regain vitality with troll and ekhidna decoctions constantly bouncing you back up to full health, the water hag decoction can also be very useful. At full vitality it increases attack power by 50%, which is pretty good. And the Ekhidna decoction restores such an insane amount of health, depending on the situation, you can run Ekhidna, ArchG, and Water Hag, and do even more insane damage using the formula you just outlined. I'm 16 levels below you and have not even unlocked the advanced skill tree, just using all superior level feline gear, not having all the perks you have aquired, and this build still has a very high damage output and very high survivability with the massive health pool you have amassed. This is not for early game, but once you have all the decoctions made and oils maxed out, alchemy becomes crazy strong. Great build.

@@Ogilla 500 Crowns isn't that bad, and 99% of the time in the game they just let you fight them instead of paying or delusion. Delusion really isn't that good it's more of a quality of life thing

Put together a NG+ melee build that sustains 10k+ Silver Sword DPS. It's somewhat of a glass cannon build, but you put out so much damage it's ridiculous.
my NG+ build sticks with ~4.2k silver dps before euphoria and any pots kick in,and in combat (with only decoctions) i usually sit at 7-8k (but get 50% more dmg at max hp). I don't want to raise my dps too much as most things die in a hit or three anyway and that's already annoying to me. I'm lv 66 and still using toussaint tourney armor that i started ng+ with (only thing that ever changes is the steel sword - Teigr atm). Nice thing is that my build sits at ~18k hp (lv 66), 73%/73%/73%/65%/28% for the 3 melee resistance, monster, and elemental and somethin like 25/90/40 for poison/bleed/burn, along with over 700 armor and 25% extra resistance vs monsters from alchemy talent. So far I've easily taken down monster contract quests and kill quests that are 30+ levels above me. All straight combat, no fancy tricks with signs or anything. Only thing odd about my build is I somehow (I think I know how it happened but I can't test it to see) kept my 65% monster base resistance between a gear swap (monster gear -> plate/human gear) even with my toussaint plate armor (which should be 73/73/73/0 - 0% for monsters). And it is not just a char sheet bug as far as I can tell with some testing. Lucky me I guess? I don't like cheats but I swear this game is so easy even on death march with upscaling turned on in NG+ that i said what the hell. I think once I get legendary superior/master ursine armor I may just swap to that at that time.
I just really hate the fact that I don't see myself changing anything except the steel sword for god knows how long. Aerondight alone makes ng+ a lot less exciting since the most exciting upgrades (silver swords) are now just vendor fodder for the most part
I should hav enever listened to all the ppl saying to make SURE to get Aeondight and even the extra mutation stuff before starting NG+..... Really killed it for me since I'm a min/maxer mostly. If ihave superior equipment I'll use it. Everyone talkin about how you should get it to "prepare" for ng+ death march blah blah.... shit is retardedly easy now. Hell, I played most of my first playthrough with death march on with upscaling but I wasn't sure it was even working cause i initially started he game at sword&story cause I'm noobish at games like these (or so i thought?)... that, and I didn't get the death march achievement even tho I beat it with death march on.

Just wanted to let you know for future reference that in general when there are difficulty achievements you have to start the game with that difficulty turned on and you can never lower it otherwise someone could theoretically because 99.9% of the game on the easiest difficulty and then turn the difficulty to the hardest right before they start or beat the final boss/quest/etc

additem('Geralt robbery mask'), that will spawn you an item Street Ruffian Mask (doesn't show an icon) in the Quest Items inventory, and when you put in in the Pocket slot, it removes the hoodie, while not covering your face at all :)
I'm playing W3 in 2019 and I tried your build against some humans and I nearly got my butt handed to me.Geralt is not nearly as devastating as I had before the switch.😎😎

"Gourmet" is probably one of those ability worth of your ability point lol.
Might I say that why the need to invest in both fast AND heavy attacks? Those skill points can be used in better places. Sure "Endure pain" increases max vitality but you still suffer the negative effects of unsafe toxicicity, exchanging it with "Heightened tolerance" allows you to chug without fear of any negative effects of toxicity at all. Another amazing skill is "Refreshment" which heals 25% of your total hp every-time you chug a potion or decoction. Since you are using poisoned blades, "Fixative" prevents oils from ever losing charges and "Protective coating" reduces damage taken by 25% when you have a sword covered in proper oil. Another amazing skill combo is "Bomb creation" and "Cluster bomb" the burst damage is massive and dealt on a wide aoe (with grapeshot). Euphoria is OP af though
True, alchemy-combat hybrid is ridiculously powerful. Puts those quen spamming sign buids to shame. BTW love your builds from DS3. I'm running that OP CMW/DMB gotthard build right now and it wrecks people left and right.
BTW, just watched the first episode of "The Witcher" on Netflix. Stars Henry Cavill of Superman fame. It's fantastic. Best thing on Netflix all year.

This is THE witcher build. It shows how much of their famed power comes from alchemy. Which is why wichers are so secretive about it.
Am I the only one who uses the Gourmet perk? Game changing for me. Eating food replenishes your vitality for 20 minutes. Great perk for Death March

With this build levity and manticore armor you can swap troll decoction for ekimmara decoction and every time you damage enemies you gain hp. I never found myself in trouble as long as I keep it toxicity up in battle by using superior tawny oil

I know this is old but if you go to the river wright, the rejuvination runs allows you to get 25% stamina with every fatal blow, so if you get a big group of enemies using "beyblade", would continue near indefinitely until all death
With Places of Power, this build can be 100% complete at lvl 80. (That includes how many ability points must be spent to unlock all 4 slots.)
Sooner is mathematically/theorycraft possible. But realistically the 5 on Touissant and the majority of the story-locked Places of Power cannot yet be reached by that point on NG+ *Especially now that NG+ scales to your level when you start it.*

Just wanna say thanks for this build. It’s the base for the build I’m running with slight adjustments, the bigger one being the use of manticore set that allowed the use of 4 decoctions thus 210% increase from Euphoria,
May I ask why you don't use the Toussiant KNIGHT's Steel Sword?

Newuxtreme probably because bleed and burn outweigh just burn but with better stats I guess or it's pretty easy to miss a single item in a massive game like this
Runnin something similar but at a lower level at the moment. Only change I'd suggest is adding the Deflection runewrite skill to your armor. Being completely immune to arrows is awesome.
Would be interesting to see how would a runewright such as severance affect this build

There is no need for a "god-tier" mode. Spec into quen, master the Dodge, put everything else into combat and Death March is a breeze.
@@itsknowledge6139 potions you have to use ahead of time. They make things easier but they aren't actively contributing to whether the combat is "fun" or not. Signs would be cool, except you can only use one of them at a time and have to pause the game to switch between them. That IMO takes away from the fun. You're fighting a cool monster and all of a sudden you have to stop and flip through signs.
If they implemented a control scheme where you could use different buttons to cast different signs it would be much more fun and fluid. As it is, I'd rather just keep Quen selected as it's clearly the most useful at any given moment.

@@ryanwilliams9466 on console you have to open up a menu and select another sign. It's annoying to do in the middle of combat and disrupts the flow.
@@peoples2296 there's a way to swap signs without pausing the game, while you're defending with your sword you can use the directional buttons to change them.
Yeah, if you like the beaten path. I prefer more of a challenge. No Potions, oils or decoctions.

I felt the same about the hood, HOWEVER I found dying the hood black with everything else made it look way better. It grew on me.

I have been wearing my nifty glasses ever since I got them at the auction back in my normal playthrough. If you equip them (or any mask), the hood disappears. I always thought ppl used a mod to get that hood until i once (moooooonths later) unequipped my glasses for a quest item in ng+ and noticed i had a hood while wearing cat gear!
The glasses are pimp as hell, imo, lol. Esp with high lv ursine armor
There is a better steel sword called the belhaven blade you can get the diagram from a lower eastern hidden treasure near drowners and some water in blood and wine

+Isa Mohammed yeah you can, but I'd suggest enchanting it with levity to make it light armor for faster stamina regen.
I personally prefer the crit damage myself, but thats just me. I don't think it really matters as once you got the base of the build down with 230% damage from Euphoria and max crit% you really just face roll everything anyways on DeathMarch and yes even DM on NGP is just faceroll, no real challenge at all. Sure you could use any sword :)
EDIT: You know I stand corrected, after looking up the Toussant steel sword I think It is better overall with the armor piercing and extra stats, even with 25% less crit damage. Although I think both are fine. I think I'll swap sword, thank you for this.
I do, but I'm 83 in NG+ so I have more skills than he does. However, nearly everything is the same especially the alchemy tree + Euphoria, but I use razor focus with the skill that increases sword and sign damage with adrenaline points because adrenaline point gain is ABSURDLY high. Because of the bear armor being more geared toward strong attacks and adrenaline I have a couple skills more toward that but that's just preference. I've also worked in some alternate sign usage but that's because I'm so powerful I wanted to mix up gameplay a bit.

Getting to this build rather late, I know, but a recent Steam sale made me want to replay this as I've never done any of the DLC (which I hear is incredible). I'm only level 14 at the moment, but one suggestion I would make for the leveling up process would be to swap Undying (Tier 2 Battle Trance) for Fleet Footed (Tier 2 Defense), since you are going for a Feline armor build and are trying to maintain Adrenaline as much as possible, meaning one is going to be very keen on the dodge mechanics while leveling up. It's a minor point, since you won't be using either of them late game, but I feel it fits better with the overall theme of the build, personally. Either way, it's an amazing build and I appreciate you sharing it with us!
I made this build to start both expansions (lv 39) and its already so good I feel like I broke the game.

This, and any Euphoria + Synergy build, is just too OP. Trivializes death march. If you wanna get even more OP. Water hag decotion (+50% damage at full health) and the enchantment that turns any vitality regen when your at full HP into extra damage (up to 50% IIRC) makes for some crazy high damage. Worth it over 3 bleed runes IMO. Great video though. Loved the DLC.
Severance is still a better Runeword. With Severence Whirl hits everything. Plus you attack so fast that it out DPS's an extra 50% attack, if you manage to get it and keep it.

Did you unlock the grandmaster Runewright ~ after 3 sockets then i enchanced the Aerondight ( dark orange ) & i'm playing +
Side Note : i have almost all the Relic Armor that the Witcher 3 offers & besides the Feline Grandmaster Gear i also enjoy Wolven because your able to add 3 oils at the same time on the Aerondight 🎮 Thanx again 💻
You don't need to try hes build, with the amount of mutagens and gear you can get at that point in the game, you can get a almost any build to reck everything

Maybe somebody already commented but i haven't see it. In my experience: All critical effects (bleeding, poison, burning) do dmg that is percentage of target's HP, therefore it is GREAT for enemies with great HP pool. So it is not scaled with your attack power. The problem is with bleeding from Crippling Strikes talent because it is FLAT dmg (it does exact dmg always = not scaled with anything). So, I agree that Crippling strikes are bad almost always but can MAYBE good for lots of low hp enemies, like wolves, nekkers, etc. Didn't test it tho.
And btw, Poisoned Blades % is more that 15%, if you use high level oils. 35% is max if I remember well (from that talent only).
Go go next gen updated bringing all this back for another nother playthrough.

Awesome build! Having some real fun with it! Might seem like a daft question but would this still be effective with the Wolven armour? I just prefer the way it looks, even it's Grandmaster bonus' are pretty crap!
demonstrating the five chivalric values in the basegame also applies. i went into blood and wine post game immediately roamed. aerondight was the first thing i claimed having only paid the boy the five coin after i ignored the ditches and rode off instead of venturing to the tourney.
I'm glad i beat the game without a super OP build like this, this doesn't seem fun.
It looks fun, but it's really not that OP. The guy is really freaking fragile compared to other OP builds around. I got a build at ~ level 55 or so who takes almost no damage from guards and has high stamina regen, intensity and damage through severance. When it's higher at New Game Plus, it's just gonna be insane..

If you want an invincible build don't ask me for it because I had a regular attack/signs build with not much else. I beat the game in broken bones with a pretty weak build and im proud of that.
WhiteBones I went heavy and quick with combat but I mixed it up by adding skills to increase quen and yarden then a few for alchemy and it works well so is that a hybrid style as that's what I was trying to go for

Ursine (with levity) with Euphoria, alchemy with fast attack skill, all Great Red Mutagens in mutagen's slot to get more % for attack power, even NG+ on DM is just to EZ

I guess he unlocked it and after then used potion of clearance to reassign the points.
Nice build, agree, can be fun too, but not for long. When the challenge is taken off, you get bored quite fast.
While you've got me beat on damage I am the tankiest Witcher there ever was.
succubus, ancient leshen, grave hag, best combo plus you can push basilisk too if you use the general talent to increase 30 toxicity and full manticore set, pop basilisk decoction then with 4 decoctions active remove the talent and reequip your armor of choice, you'll have maxed out toxicity and the most you can squeeze out of euphoria
Everybody focuses so hard on DPS in this game for some reason. I don't understand it. You do not need DPS at any point in this RPG - there are no damage checks.
All you need are utility/quality of life talents and defensive stuff. Protective coating + resistances on armor, then quality of life.
There is no advantage to being a glass cannon in this game compared to being invulnerable on death march
It's way more boring to be a tank though.

@@gumenski Well if that's what you want you could always play on a lower difficulty. Personally I prefer a harder challenge, but to each their own I guess.
Now, I haven’t watched the whole video, so I may be making an ass of myself, but if I may make a suggestion, I would suggest you put the Severance runeword on your swords. It increases the range of Whirl by 1.1 yards, and Rend by 1.9 yards, making them far more useful, and look a lot cooler.
