Sorry what?! I'm 10 seconds into your video and your actually talking about the content in the title ? Have I stumbled upon some alternate time line where a RUclipsr hasn't done a 8 minute intro to the video begging likes and subscribes
Patrick G No kidding huh??? Wasn't that refreshing ?? I like this guy! No B.S. and right to the point. Seems like pretty good advice too. God this game seems complicated !
Number one tip for a newbie like me is take your time. This game is goddamn huge, skipping scenes and trying to do just the main quest is not recommended.
This. First time I played it, I only went for the main quests and didn't do a single side quest. Got bored some time later as I didn't really care about the story and left the game. Months later, I started all over again, playing side quests and exploring the world, this game looks fantastic.
Nathen Bosher If you think skipping scenes is necessary, I’d disagree. Unless you’re talking about just skipping the scenes you go through 10000 times(Like talking to a merchant before you buy his goods.) But if you’re talking about skipping story scenes? I think this game just isn’t for you really
I’m already level 16 and I’m still too afraid to swim in water with drowners 😭. I haven’t done anything, quests or “undiscovered locations” or treasure hunts, that has got to do with diving into drowner infested water
My tip:- If you are surrounded by a group of enemies and one or two of them turns out to be an archer or crossbow men, kill them first they usually have low health and are kind of annoying as they do quite a lot of damage.
with griffin/wolf armor set, you can keep quen active for the entire fight. at max sign intensity it absorbs north of 900 damage so arrows usually take only half of your shield. Also, if you get hit at DM difficulty, it takes away more than half of your health, quen's alternate mode helps you recover from these accidental hits.
Just a tip, when you arrive in the Baron's castle, go to the notice board and pick up the race one. Bet 50 crowns for each race (theres 3 and its really easy) and then in total youll get like 300 crowns and some horse equipment.
Thanks. Started playing yesterday. Have boiled your advice down to this: 1. Stick to roads at the beginning 2. Do as many side quests as possible. XP! 3. Map. ?s give ability points. !s give quests. 4. Upgrade light attack, axii (rep) and quen (shield). Mutagens boost corresponding skills. 5. Loot everything. Grab all you can. 6. Bestiary shows enemy weaknesses. 7. Create each bomb/potion once each. Assign them. 8. Save, save, save. Save before any battle. Meditating replenishes health & stocks. 9. Upgrade horse with blinkers and saddle bags. 10. Dismantling at armourer -> crafting items. Sell crafting/alchemy items when you have 10+. 11. Combat mechanics. 1. Parry. 2. Dodge > rolling. 3. Quen. Single targets out from groups.
THIS is how you provide a guide and tips. No BS small talk taking up time, no lazy form of talking, and actual presentation in an organized fashion. You sir are the only one to get me motivated to starting the game. Every other "video guide" is just too lazy, lacks presentation, and they don't ever sound prepared. The only thing I would change is what you put your ability points into. I think it's smart to specialize in one tree in the beginning, and I recommend the magic tree. The first three abilities to get are signs, which are Axii, Quen, and Yrden. Why? Because these spells help in any situation, while Igni and Aard are basically meant for groups that are easy to kill (and using them by mistake can cause problems around innocent folk). Plus, mutagen matchup with better intensity.
I finally got the Witcher 3 and at first since I was a total noob about the Witcher universe and until I started using Quen fights were kind of a bitch.
This is one of the most straight forward and well done guides to this game. You don't spoil anything which is great. You tell new players how to not get destroyed. This is all that a Witcher 3 guide should be. Anything else just takes away from the rest of the game because half the fun is exploring and finding out the intricacies on your own. Fantastic job!
For those who want it chronologically: 1. Duny (Emhyr) was cursed, apparently since birth. (This wasn't actually true, but it's irrelevant.) 2. Duny and Pavetta fell in love. 3. Geralt lifts Duny's curse and asks for child of surprise. Pavetta was pregnant (with Ciri). 4. Geralt initially refuses Ciri, ends up with her again, and decides to take her to Kaer Morhen anyway. He also learns that she is a Source (has Elder Blood or whatever). 5. Yennefer trains and tutors Ciri in magic, to try and harness her power. I think Triss does too. 6. Ciri becomes Yen and Geralt's adopted child. 7. Lots of time passes. 8. Geralt is killed with a pitchfork, Yen resurrects him. 9. Ciri creates special island for them, and goes off into another dimension. 10. Wild Hunt appear and kidnap Yennefer (to lure Ciri out). 11. Geralt joins Hunt in return for Yen's freedom. 12. Later, he somehow escapes, and returns to witchering, with no recollection of Yen or Ciri. 13. Witcher 1 game begins. Witcher 2 happens. Geralt regains memory. Witcher 3 happens.
In addition to your tip #9, sell: 1) weapons to blacksmiths 2) armor to armorers 3) alchemy craft items to alchemists 4) weapon craft items to blacksmiths/armorers 5) miscellaneous to shopkeepers/merchants Over time, you'll get much more money
Actually, sell to a specific specialist. Like the Dwarf Herbalist outside Oxenfurt buys certain herbs at a higher price than the Dwarf Herbalist in Novigrad. While they both buy at high price, some items are bought at a higher price by a certain buyer.
Figured that part out myself while playing... A sword was like 1000 crowns and when I was trying to sell it showed way less price and then I realized i was selling it to a merchant who buys everything... So went to the Smith and it was priced more ....
Tip : Quen blocks every single damage from EVERY ATTACK from EVERY SINGLE MONSTER at least once so when you are about to fight a OP monster just cast Quen, fight and when you're hit, retreat and cast Quen again. Basically, this loop may be long and frustrating but you are sure to defeat any ennemy even in the early game.
This isn't correct, the final boss of the Blood and Wine expansion pack has an attack which goes right through Quen and if you are playing on the highest difficulty this will instantly kill you, even with quen on.
Igni is good against non/humans and water monsters, but useless against specters and elementa. Quen is good against everything. Once you unlock the alternate sign mode, it even heals you for 25% of damage absorbed and knocks back and damages enemies for the same amount. That being said, igni is definitely more fun, with medium armor and griffin school skill equipped , stamina generates quicker than the burning duration, so you can keep burning someone to death.
***** In my experience werewolves dont catch on fire like drowners and hags do, and endregas are also not damaged by fire as much. On nekkers yes it works beautifully. But without quen nekkers will flatten you like a fucking road-roller.
Some tips for new players: 1. Read the skills' description and try to focus which attack style you want to play and allocate point efficiently to take advantage of mutagen, which will give you significant buff when colors are matched accordingly. 2. You can almost 1 shot every drowner with your crossbow when you are diving. 3. Do not pick up every Velen long sword you come across. They are heavy and selling them too often is annoying. 4. Pay attention to those recipes that herbalists sell. They are useful and are extremely rewarding when used correctly to aid combat. 5. The default keybindings on computer are ridiculous (especially for casting sign with Q, making you basically cannot move left when casting fire stream). Would be extremely useful if your mouse has the 2 extra buttons where you can set sign casting on one and Quen on the other (Quen need to be nerfed btw) 6. Take everything single piece of paper off the board, some will mark places of interest on the map for you. 7. You can run efficiently by holding down shift and press jump when your stamina bar is about to run out, which will refill yout stamina to full during the jumping animation. 8. Adrenaline point speed up your stamina refill rate. 9.Loots in monster nests scale with your level so try to balance between Quests and exploration. Spending an hour to fight a golem just to receive something a bit better than a Velen long sword is definitely not worth it. 10. You can kill Roach (and yourself) by jumping off the collapsed bridge in White Orchard. 11. Spamming space before hitting the ground to minimize fall damage. 12. Be careful when using Dimeritium Bomb. It disables monster's skills as well as your signs. Feel free to add more tips to make new witcher player's life easier :D
Tip 1: Get the Gourmet Perk as your first perk in the generic skill tree! It saves food and makes you heal so much over 20 minutes instead of 5 seconds after consuming food. Trust me, it breaks the game for the first 20 levels or so.
@@XXXEmpoleon I haven't bought any. I've been living off honeycombs and wolf meat, both of which are abundant enough. After getting some better gear and upping light attack a few times wolves are easy prey.
Most important tip: Don't charge right in the middle of the pack and think you will crush everything. You gotta dispatch monsters 1 or 2 at a time. Parrying attacks is very important and I find the shield quite effective.
parry only works if the monster/enemy is near or below your level, if it has a higher level you will be stunned or staggered after parrying the attack. Dodging is the way to go and always pop up quen! nice list btw
The number one tip should be to keep your swords sharp, if they have turned red on the HUD, they will do way less damage...which is BAD. Buy every repair kit you find. Most important to keep sharp is the sliver sword because they are pretty rare. Repair them every time you find an armorer that can do it and save all your weapon repair kits for emergency field repairs of the SILVER sword. Regular swords are a dime a dozen, keep a couple of the highest damage/least worn ones you find with you so if push comes to shove you can just swap to another one rather than waste a repair kit on it while in the field. It's amazing how many times I see people trying to fight with a damaged weapon. Also, find workbenches and grindstones where you can enhance your weapons and armor (for free!) before you do any new mission or just roaming around.
I swear that Skyrim on the 360 had a dedicated quicksave button, it was definitely one of the Elder Scrolls. Why don't more RPGs do this for console? And I mean shit, I've got a gaming rig but I still play 3rd person games, like the Withcer, with a controller.
I just actually started playing this game and fell in love with it instantly. Not skipping any cutscenes coz most of it are interesting and taking all the side quests. Best RPG game I played so far since Skyrim.
Tip #12 If the game is being played on high difficulty, the first upgrade should be gourmet food. It enables the character to regenerate health for 20 min after eating anything.
An asshole spoiled the entire story to me. It almost made me not play the game, but I did. And I am so glad I did. With all those choices, I had my own story! And the sidequests, oh the sidequests... The gameplay is great. You helped me, thank you!
If you like RPGs, definitely worth buying. Just got it last week off the PS store after starting the Netflix series. Even after maybe 3 hours in, I can see why it's been called the best game ever!
I just bought it on steam sale, and it is still great. It has not aged at all! Also, props to the video maker for replying to a comment on a 5-year-old video
same!!! i watched the show when it dropped and started playing a couple of days ago, i am addicted now. i miss yenn though, you don't see her often in the game early on.
This is my first Witcher game and I didn't know at the time that death march was a difficulty so I clicked it b/c it sounded cool, but after this video I think I can get used to it, prior to this I probably died 20 times to the griffen before I realized its weaknesses lol
You can read books to learn about about beasts before fighting them. I had a fight with a werewolf and I beat it cause I read a book that unlocked that page in my bestiary.
Jaal The Angel what did you think the graphics would look like a ps4 pc xbox 1 or like a 4k tv 😂😂😂😂 its the switch bro but maybe maybe with the so called switch pro people have been talking about buy hey how are you enjoying the game so far .. for me its good since its my first time playing it lol
Kevin Mayorga Oh I’m loving it. I feel so accomplished that I killed the Golem with only a crossbow and Igni😂 Igni has been my best friend in combat so far but I might start using Quen more after this video. The music is superb and I love hearing Geralt deep voice in cutscenes
Jaal The Angel no way i tried doing that but i didnt see no progress that was the quest of the witcher gear ? I was lv 6 when i did that now im lv 10 with better swords i might try to beat it lol
I'm a bit late coming into the game, but I can't thank you enough for this video. I've started and stopped this game twice now because it seemed overwhelming. Now that I'm starting to get the hang of it I'm super excited about playing it. Thanks again for your help sir!
Yeah, definitely make doing all monster contracts and side quests in White Orchard your priority. There's not much there to do, it's a small area and it will help immensely. Besides, the Devil By The Well and Brother's Peril missions fail almost immediately after you progress the story outside of White Orchard. Upon starting, look at your Crafting section for Warrior Coat and note the upgrade material necessary. As soon as you get to Velen, head to Crows Perch to have the armor smith craft you the jacket. This can be your main coat for up until Level 11 and 12...I used mine until 15, but mostly because it was the best looking. Also, look for a windmill in White Orchard, there's a house next to it with a hidden basement you can get into for early loot. You can use this to sell or equip. Witcher School gear will be some of the best to use, early on, but post-story you'll find looting Relic gear begins to out power the Witcher gear stuff, beyond level 32. Considering a New Game Plus? Collect as many diagrams and craft as many of those as you can. Once you start a new game plus, you will keep all you have crafted, but diagrams disappear. So craft as many decoctions, oils, potions and weapons/ gear as you can, to kick off your next save with. Essentially, this means to play your first play through as thoroughly as possible and there is not a question mark or exclamation mark left on your map nor remaining contracts/ side quests. Inspect every nook and cranny of every new area you're in and take your time. Be meticulous, in other words. During your next play through, you can do it a lot less thoroughly, and just focus on story and you will still be finding good relic gear, along the way...it's just important to have as much of the best to start your NG+ off with. So that your next play through can be as little of re-farming as possible. You now have a stash, so don't be afraid to fill that up with witcher school gear and relic weapons of every kind. The reason why you are saving and hording what you can, is because When you kick off your NG+ game, you'll find that certain weapons and armor you wielded the last time around, may not be re-usable again until a higher level...so you need others to fall back onto. So if you have gear that is nice, but lower level than what you have now...keep it! It may be your only choice, later. I wish I had kept all my witcher school swords because relics that I had completed my first play through with that were stating I needed to be 65-67 to use again! I had Witcher Wolven gear I couldn't wear until I was 41! Witch made me wish I had saved more of what I had. So I scrapped that save and just kept playing on my main file to accumulate and re-craft/ re-acquire more stuff to throw in stash.
+Marlon Lee Hey mate - Really good advice for the NG+ Thanks so much for posting here :) Thanks to the update the stash increases the replay value, great suggestion to store lower level stuff as its easy to forget about the replay and you'll be back to the grind when you start. Again thanks so much. Legend :)
I should've probably watched this before I went in those goddamn underground caves. I didn't know about cat potion. I spammed Igni and got 3 milliseconds to see my surroundings. Absolute bruh moment
Know I'm late to the party but oh well. I guess this sorta goes with the side quest part of the vid, but be careful with advancing the main quests, at certain points you will fail certain sidequests if the main quest forces certain NPC's to move. Took me a while to figure out why I was failing sidequests seemingly at random.
No one cares Dude, he was not joking about the beastiari,READ IT. If you ever go up against a lets say night wraith, if you dont know what to do, you are 1000% screwd
after playing assassin's creed origins which is my first assassin game BTW i really loved the environment so i decided to look into witcher 3 because of its open world wild life quests & more so came across your video which helped me big time thx & subscribed:)
If you like open world games with the similar old feel here are some suggestions: Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassins creed black flag, horizon zero dawn. More modern open world games: Marvel's spider-man, Grand theft auto 5 (I Hear good things about it, haven't tried it yet)
@@shahrobp guess what I've got them all Because games are getting more and more expensive When I bought my ps4 i started collecting open world games so you can enjoy every after you beat the game Appreciate your reply👍
@@rahquelhumes249 Assassin's creed IV: black flag, Marvel's spider-man, Horizon: zero dawn. There's also Death stranding but it's not everyone's cup of tea. Games I heard are great but haven't tried: Ghost of tsushima, GTA V, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, fallout 4, Assassin's creed: origin.
Regarding saving: Not sure if this was available back in 2015 but for those playing the game now, you can change the period of time between auto saves in the settings. I think the default is around every 10 minutes, I've lowered mine to every 5 minutes but I believe it goes as low as every 3 minutes. Just means you don't have to worry about manually saving as much. Would highly recomend.
I bought this game almost 2 years ago and watched this video then. But life happened and I wasn't able to play at that time. Finally ready to play now and this video immediately popped into my mind. It made that good an impression! :) Just watched it again and wanted to let you know how much I appreciated this guide. Can't wait to FINALLY play this game, and I feel less overwhelmed by it because of this video (and the helpful comments beneath it too). Thank you.
use the aard sign and mix it with the fire so when they freeze(when u upgrade the aard ofc)so when u hit em with fire they die easily, remove the useless stuff from ur inventory, use quen spell all the time in battles I did that when I played the game at the hardest difficulty, trust me its helpful.
I'm so used to games holding your hand through the combat that I'm actually struggling haha. Your character seems way faster at blocking & attacking than mine, my Witcher seems drunk all the time 🍻
WarmSoftKitty that's just your opinion I guess, I've played at 60 on a high end rig and im playing at 30 on my one x at the moment and it runs amazingly, obviously not as smooth as 60 but its more than playable, not that big of a difference plays exactly the same. I've always had more fun on consoles anyway. Barely played it on PC, but I've played the shit out of it on this.
Just bought this a week ago and i am sufficiently addicted to playing it. Ive never played any fantasy stuff but this drew me right in quick.. Thanks for the tips bro I Needed the Help lol (I had never crafted a thing before this game )
Thanks for the great video, I've finally started playing this and for once something lives up to it's hype! Something that really helped me in the beginning of the game was the Gourmet (general) ability. This lets food regenerate vitality for 20 minutes. So basically if you eat something every 20 mins (or just before battle) your health will keep on regenerating at 80 or 50 point per second (depends on what you eat). This helped me a lot more than the quen sign.
Just watched the series, downloaded everything for this game and watching this while it downloads. Such a helpful and straight to the point guide. 2020 and still relevant ♥️ thank you. Earned a subscriber
I just started this game. I cannot thank you enough. I considered myself a fair hand at RPG menus and open world games in general. I was so wrong. Lol. This game is deeeeeep and you just gave me a torch. Thanks again. Liked and subscribed. 👍
Tip: buy the nilfgardian saddle and saddle bags from the bloody barons quartermaster. I've never filled up my inventory with it and stamina refills faster than you use it at a full gallop. Also just set your autosave for every three minutes. That way if you forget to save your game it's not a problem as you can reload from any of your three last autosaves.
Just started playing The Witcher on the Nintendo Switch Lite. Loving it so far and being able to play on the go is amazing. Although it requires a ton of focus so you can’t be playing like on a bus or something lol
It took me a few years to get into this game, but I had to play the first two to actually get into this one knowing how the story goes. I'm honestly surprised by how great this video is, and even more then I was already doing all of it. Thanks for the video!!
Just picked it up after watching the series and my sister play it. Cheers for the tips mate, very clear and concise. Wish all guides/tip videos were like this. No bs just what you need to know. Much appreciated 👍💯
Another tip - Buy all the maps Merchants sell. They get you Witcher gear which us better than the usual gear and can be upgraded. Great video man! Still playing this masterpiece in 2020. Reached Kaer Moerhen:)
Heres my tips : Best early skills abilities are : Other : gourmet , allows vitality regen of about 50 per sec for 20 minutes even in combat. Other : cat school techniques : You'll be using light armor for most of the early stages. Axi : to delusion level 3 : very handy later on as it saves a lot of awkward situations and also gives xp Combat : the first 4 in fast attack and strong attack. Some tree trunks are hollow and contain hidden money, they don't show up in witcher senses , you have to walk up to them and press E/ interact. For money : you can repeatedly incinerate pigs in a pig pen in White Orchard. Farming red mutagen : Just outide of Downwarren in Velen there is a hamlet of about 3 or 4 huts that contains a level 14 respawning alghoul that sometimes drops red mutagens. If an enemy human has a shield raised you can't seem to damage use axi on them. Axi can also temporarily stun other creatures. Best prices paid for swords seems to be the armorer in novigrad heirarch square. Best prices paid for alchemy herbs is herbalist heirarch square Best for books / other seems to bookseller shop in heirarch square.
Still can't believe I'm playing this at consistant 30 fps on my switch whereever I want. It feels so cool being able to stay in bed without even raising your haid and play this masterpiece. The graphical setbacks, lower resolution and fps is a small price to pay for such comfort.
This video might be 4 years old but I honestly don’t care. A RUclips who has tips video and gets straight into the content with the first 30 seconds deserves way more than just a like and sub
Just started playing this game because it popped up on Xbox game pass. I had all this figured out within an hour. This video should be more of a general "How to play RPGs" as opposed to just Witcher. If you're an RPG player, you already know all of this. If you're a noob, listen to what this video has to say. Everything he says is 100% spot on.
Thanks for the video! I haven’t played video games since I was a kid and recently got back into them; my brother gave me Witcher 3 to play. It’s the most complicated game I’ve ever played. This helps me a lot. Haha.
Davi Lima i barely bought this game. im ready for the addiction. i stayed away from dark souls 3 because i know how hard and frustrating those games are. i hope witcher 3 isnt as hard
Deathstroke Slade Wilson It does have its hard parts if you dont know what youre doing. Its a lot more technical than darksouls but youll get the hang of it
For those playing on the hardest difficulty and are struggling to have enough food on hand for the damage you're taking, there is a perk you can take in the "general" tab called Gourmet Chef(I believe) which makes food effects last for 20 minutes. It basically turns the game back to easy mode.
thanks for doing this video it has only reinforced me wanting to try the witcher 3, i wasnt a fan when it first came out but after watching the show (yup im one of them) i thought about it and decided to do some research on it and give it another shot. Watching your very helpful video while some years old i believe it will help during my first playthrough and just wanted to show appreciation for taking the time to help give advice for newbies like me to The Witcher 3.
Watched it on Netflix. Just downloaded the game today and played about an hour of it. Kind of helps that I’ve completed the RDRs in that horse riding and looting is similar. But fuck to all the different stuff in the inventory, that will take some getting used to! Thanks for the tips 👍🏼

My tip:-
If you are surrounded by a group of enemies and one or two of them turns out to be an archer or crossbow men, kill them first they usually have low health and are kind of annoying as they do quite a lot of damage.
or put a point into your parry skill, lets you block arrows and delfect them if timed right
or use quen like a normal person
Abhishek singh Do you like to use quen every freaking time you get hit?
with griffin/wolf armor set, you can keep quen active for the entire fight. at max sign intensity it absorbs north of 900 damage so arrows usually take only half of your shield. Also, if you get hit at DM difficulty, it takes away more than half of your health, quen's alternate mode helps you recover from these accidental hits.

Thanks. Started playing yesterday. Have boiled your advice down to this:
1. Stick to roads at the beginning
+Damien Hine Yup - thats pretty much it - Thanks for the summary :)
+Damien Hine axi is pretty much useless, you can just bribe them or kill them, and of you have the light attack upgraded its easy
+Damien Hine spoken like a true Bard Sir ;D

The shield sign
I finally got the Witcher 3 and at first since I was a total noob about the Witcher universe and until I started using Quen fights were kind of a bitch.
This is one of the most straight forward and well done guides to this game. You don't spoil anything which is great. You tell new players how to not get destroyed. This is all that a Witcher 3 guide should be. Anything else just takes away from the rest of the game because half the fun is exploring and finding out the intricacies on your own. Fantastic job!
Thanks
For those who want it chronologically:
1. Duny (Emhyr) was cursed, apparently since birth. (This wasn't actually true, but it's irrelevant.)
Good to have the back story thank you for sharing it here
In addition to your tip #9, sell:
1) weapons to blacksmiths
2) armor to armorers
3) alchemy craft items to alchemists
4) weapon craft items to blacksmiths/armorers
5) miscellaneous to shopkeepers/merchants
Over time, you'll get much more money
Absolutely!! Great tip, been working that out too. Sell to the specialist is the point. Thanks for posting mate :-D
Actually, sell to a specific specialist. Like the Dwarf Herbalist outside Oxenfurt buys certain herbs at a higher price than the Dwarf Herbalist in Novigrad. While they both buy at high price, some items are bought at a higher price by a certain buyer.
Thank you for the tip i never would've known lol
Figured that part out myself while playing... A sword was like 1000 crowns and when I was trying to sell it showed way less price and then I realized i was selling it to a merchant who buys everything... So went to the Smith and it was priced more ....
Already have more money than I know what to do with. And I'm not even in Skellige yet.
tip: take all the notices at a notice board, they reveal the ? in the area
This is what i do lol
+xXH311 CATSXx when you spend points in quen skills it becomes ultra OP lol near the end of the game one hit from a drowner took 3% of my shield
This isn't correct, the final boss of the Blood and Wine expansion pack has an attack which goes right through Quen and if you are playing on the highest difficulty this will instantly kill you, even with quen on.
dont use it against specters tho it stuns you both end if there is more than one specter(like a bunch of wraiths) you fucked

@@AnilSharma-fb8dl cool

Did both of your moms watched the unicorn scene?
Quen is life.
That's the shield thingy right?
+Chip Snepvangers yes
Igni...cause who doesn't like catching someone on fire before you decapitate them, lol
*****
In my experience werewolves dont catch on fire like drowners and hags do, and endregas are also not damaged by fire as much. On nekkers yes it works beautifully. But without quen nekkers will flatten you like a fucking road-roller.
I always pay huge amounts of attention to these, but then I realise that I'm not a beginner any more and I learnt these the hard way ;-;

+Heath Anderson haha well they do though dont they :)
Some tips for new players:
Would be extremely useful if your mouse has the 2 extra buttons where you can set sign casting on one and Quen on the other (Quen need to be nerfed btw)

I'm level 27 should I stop using it now?
@@Philip4454 No. I still use it at level 50+.

Get the "gourmet" talent as soon as it becomes available. Its a game changer, and will save you a ton of food and meditations.
I should've came here before spending hundreds on provisions
I can’t seem to get to it in my ability screen! I also read that you can only get gourmet when you have the Blood and Wine dlc?
"Saves you a ton of food and meditations"
Me: *Laughs in looting every peasant's house*
Does it replenish health according the food you ate? Or its a general regeneration?
@@XXXEmpoleon I haven't bought any. I've been living off honeycombs and wolf meat, both of which are abundant enough. After getting some better gear and upping light attack a few times wolves are easy prey.
Most important tip: Don't charge right in the middle of the pack and think you will crush everything. You gotta dispatch monsters 1 or 2 at a time. Parrying attacks is very important and I find the shield quite effective.
parry only works if the monster/enemy is near or below your level, if it has a higher level you will be stunned or staggered after parrying the attack. Dodging is the way to go and always pop up quen! nice list btw
whenever you van use quen then if you want switch to singing else until it is either used or expires then recast
Also, find workbenches and grindstones where you can enhance your weapons and armor (for free!) before you do any new mission or just roaming around.
in PC qiuck save using f5 saves my hell lot of time
Oh shit thanks. Didn't know that
+Towseef Ahmed damnn thanks brother!!
thanks man...didn't know that before
Just fyi, for those who don't know-- you can quicksave with F5 in a lot of PC games (I know you can in Bethesda games-- Fallout, The Elder Scrolls).
I swear that Skyrim on the 360 had a dedicated quicksave button, it was definitely one of the Elder Scrolls. Why don't more RPGs do this for console? And I mean shit, I've got a gaming rig but I still play 3rd person games, like the Withcer, with a controller.
never lock onto enemies when you're fighting more than one enemy..
I lock onto enemies, I know crowd control tactics never let them surround you.
Or just keep dodging constantly so it doesn’t matter
@@Jkizzle4996 That's what I do

Tip #2456:
See Werewolf, run from werewolf. Come back to finish quest when at least level 14, and his cheap regen ability doesn't matter.
Or just accept the double money the lady offered haha
It was a pain in the ass without cursed oil
Moon dust bomb and the cursed oil really makes this quest a little more straightforward. Also, get the viper steel and silver swords early.
@@lunchbox2360 yeah I found a legendary silver sword called the moon sword or something 200 damage in just level 4 or something, quest was easy for me

An asshole spoiled the entire story to me. It almost made me not play the game, but I did. And I am so glad I did. With all those choices, I had my own story! And the sidequests, oh the sidequests... The gameplay is great. You helped me, thank you!
Oh good - even if you know what happens sometimes the thrill is just in the gameplay itself. Glad I helped and great to hear you played it anyway :)
Is it still worth buying this game in 2020? Got hyped by the series on netflix
Yes! In fact there are more people playing it now than ever before
If you like RPGs, definitely worth buying. Just got it last week off the PS store after starting the Netflix series. Even after maybe 3 hours in, I can see why it's been called the best game ever!
I just bought it on steam sale, and it is still great. It has not aged at all! Also, props to the video maker for replying to a comment on a 5-year-old video

This is my first Witcher game and I didn't know at the time that death march was a difficulty so I clicked it b/c it sounded cool, but after this video I think I can get used to it, prior to this I probably died 20 times to the griffen before I realized its weaknesses lol
When I started out I kept it on blood and broken bones. Then moved it up after I finished white orchard.
You can read books to learn about about beasts before fighting them. I had a fight with a werewolf and I beat it cause I read a book that unlocked that page in my bestiary.
Awesome.
Loot everything 'like a Viking going Christmas shopping' 😂

Jaal The Angel no way i tried doing that but i didnt see no progress that was the quest of the witcher gear ? I was lv 6 when i did that now im lv 10 with better swords i might try to beat it lol
I'm a bit late coming into the game, but I can't thank you enough for this video. I've started and stopped this game twice now because it seemed overwhelming. Now that I'm starting to get the hang of it I'm super excited about playing it. Thanks again for your help sir!
Hey you are very welcome and its such a good game - really steep learning curve at the beginning but not long before you become a god if you persevere
Legend :)

@@shahrobp Yes i Love Fallout! I'm looking for games such as that one! I will look up your recommendations. Thanks for the reply!
Finally ready to play now and this video immediately popped into my mind. use the aard sign and mix it with the fire so when they freeze(when u upgrade the aard ofc)so when u hit em with fire they die easily, remove the useless stuff from ur inventory, use quen spell all the time in battles I did that when I played the game at the hardest difficulty, trust me its helpful.
I'm so used to games holding your hand through the combat that I'm actually struggling haha. Your character seems way faster at blocking & attacking than mine, my Witcher seems drunk all the time 🍻
Its a steep learning curve to be honest and dont worry you'll get the hang of it!
Same thing, the blocking animation is too slow. I guess it's because of the framerate. I use the 30 fps lock, due to framerate drop issues.
Say that to console players xD . I also play on 30-35 and I got used to it.
WarmSoftKitty far from it.
Then I know how much fun you are going to have! :D

Heres my tips : Best early skills abilities are :
Other : gourmet , allows vitality regen of about 50 per sec for 20 minutes even in combat.
Other : cat school techniques : You'll be using light armor for most of the early stages.
Axi : to delusion level 3 : very handy later on as it saves a lot of awkward situations and also gives xp
Combat : the first 4 in fast attack and strong attack.

Getting this on the Switch!
For those playing on the hardest difficulty and are struggling to have enough food on hand for the damage you're taking, there is a perk you can take in the "general" tab called Gourmet Chef(I believe) which makes food effects last for 20 minutes. It basically turns the game back to easy mode.

Just started to play today! I’m very excited I’ve heard great things but never got around to playing. Thanks for all the tips’

thanks for doing this video it has only reinforced me wanting to try the witcher 3, i wasnt a fan when it first came out but after watching the show (yup im one of them) i thought about it and decided to do some research on it and give it another shot. Watching your very helpful video while some years old i believe it will help during my first playthrough and just wanted to show appreciation for taking the time to help give advice for newbies like me to The Witcher 3.
Hey you're very welcome. I loved the show and love this game even more. Have fun with one of the very best RPGs there is.
Great tips. I've just started this game and figured some of these out through trial and error but I will definitely dismantle

Watched it on Netflix. Just downloaded the game today and played about an hour of it. Kind of helps that I’ve completed the RDRs in that horse riding and looting is similar. But fuck to all the different stuff in the inventory, that will take some getting used to! Thanks for the tips 👍🏼
Hey you're welcome have fun with the game 😁
