      Still loving this build man, Like I almost can't even bring myself to try anyother builds since I found it. like the only other one i can do is for the wolf armor set, and its fun for a time, but when I just want to wreck sh*t, and/or I know I got a big boss fight coming up. switching to this build is my way to go, with Heavy attacks. The crits, the durability, and the ability to heal so well off of damage I think with skilled enough player can both out tank the tank builds, and out burst the whirl builds.

      lol, potions and even more so decoctions add a ton of fun to the game. For example chuck down these when you enter a boss fight:
      Ekimmara decoction -damage dealt to foes generates vitality
      Ekhidna decoction -performing actions that consume stamina generates vitality
      Troll decoction -slowly regenerates vitality in and out of combat
      Then there's also a skill which increases your max vitality once your toxicity goes above the safe threshold

      Oddly enough, the black veins face doesn't show if you use skill switching after popping decoctions (you can swap out the skills that increace max toxicity), and you end up at like, say, 250% toxicity (decoction toxicity doesn't damage you, so you can have more than 100%).

I just prefer having the stun effect in place without using runes for it. It does have 25% crit damage less, but the history of the sword made it worth it for me. Here are the stats:
    +150 Armor piercing
    +75% Critical hit damage bonus
    +15% Critical hit chance

Nothing on my level is a problem and I've been able to tackle enemies up to 20 levels above me with ease sometimes. Good video and nice job explaining the build!

    I find the Fixative kind of a waste, things die so fast 50+ charges on oil is more than enough. I would switch that to protective coating, you get hit in the game even when trying hard no to get hit, 25% protection is a big chunk when you know how good "%" type effects are, making you more tanky which is turn even makes your regen/heal decoctions more powerful "indirectly". Good build tho~

    • @Ditronus.
      @Ditronus. 8 лет назад +1

      That is a good and viable suggestion. I just love putting on hanged man's venom and forgetting about it, as humans eat up charges fast. This build certainly has room for modification to preference.

      About the water hag 50% damage thing. I know exactly what you mean. I was playing around with my gear and sat on 7k silver DPS with nothing active. Popped thunderbolt, water hag, and katakan and it went up to 15k. reset potions and found out it was basically all water hag. Attack power is weird and doesnt just constitute a flat damage increase. Water hag is different because, as it says, its just 50% more damage, which is easily the most broken thing in the game.
      Now, I said I got it to work, now it doesnt. The only difference is that when it wasnt working, I was in Toussaint. When it was working, I was by the runewright in Velen. Maybe try out this build outside of toussaint and go for 200k + crits !

    • @Ditronus.
      @Ditronus. 8 лет назад

      +Basically Godzilla Hah, very strange. You did specific testing for this outside and inside Toussaint, full HP and everything? My problem is there aren't creatures strong enough to withstand my damage in my game outside Toussaint! Seriously, I can't build my adrenalin to three and get 10 charges before all the enemies die in the encounter, even in DM NG+lv80. I cleared out too much stuff before Blood and Wine came along, so there's nothing but randomly spawning trash. Even the toughest enemies die fast (as you saw that arch-Griffin); I might just leave it up to folks like you to test it. I'm sure someone on the internet will give it a try and people will flock to that video. In my case, I've never found Water Hag to work for me. There are things that are just mysterious in this game.

    Hi Ditronus,
    great build, but just a few ideas to make it more versatile or even stronger:
    - is Fixative not just a skill für the lazy ones, as you can refresh oils after every 60 attacks on your blades?
    - are there no better choices then Tissue Transmutation - 1.000 extra HP is not that necessary?
    - wouldn't be Flood of Anger a good choice to make this build more versatile (and would add another 15% attack power)?
    - why not Delusion? Ok doesn't make Geralt stronger, but adds tons of dialogue options and at least one additional level.
    - Poisoined Blades - at least I don't see that much synergy with the rest of the build, and are there really that many needs for additional poison damage?
    - why not spending some points for Quen? As melee build Quen could make life much easier!
    I would think about placing Quen, Delusion and the 2 general skills in the 4 middle slots, go for 180% attack power and skip the 900 extra vitality.
    Btw. a screen of the your Alchemy Tree would be very helpfull in your video.

    Just wanted to add that I done little testing and on my current build with all the gear you reccomnded I swapped out for 4 piece feline set to test attack power vs Crit damage and toxicity. I did test by engaging in combat to activate Euphoria, and killed 2 mobs to get 100% crit chance up. From there I tested DPS with max toxicity withing 1-2 points max. The feline with attack power was about 800 dps more for both base crit and 100% crit comparison. Meaning the attack power scales better with this build then the critical damage does. Just thought I'd share my findings as it is just a minimial difference but if you are looking to min/max a build then it is slightly better to favor attack power. I would even think it might be more dps to drop the 30 toxicity from general to activate another 15% attack power from a Red, however I have not tested this yet.

      @Ditronus. 8 лет назад +45

      Just showing possibilities. But why shouldn't I be that strong after putting 200 hours into a character? In any RPG there's a power curve you climb along; usually the more time you put into it, the stronger you become. It was surely challenging enough up to a good point in Witcher 3. Playing through Death's March at launch was rough!

    • @gabrielriet1505
      @gabrielriet1505 8 лет назад +3

      +Ditronus You're right, I do agree that the more you play and get ahead in a game the better/stronger you should become, and your build is fair, doesn't involve glitches of any type. The thing is: you don't really have to be that advanced in the game in order to get a build like that going. Sure you won't have the best gear, so you won't be doing 100k crits like you here, but the main perks, the build core I would say, could be made considerably earlier in the game (talking about level 40+). The rest would be complements to the main thing. With that said, the player has the possibility of being that OP during a great part of the game, and that could ruin the experience in my opinion. But please keep in mind that I'm not criticizing you or your video, my comment wasn't meant for you specifically, but for players in general. I'm just putting up an observation 😉 (btw nice video, it's really interesting to know that you can create a build like that and become goddy).

    • @Ditronus.
      @Ditronus. 8 лет назад +1

      Good points. You can do this build at the core, not as optimized or developed, at earlier levels. Yet, I do think the game can be challenging at death march, just not as challenging, sure.Things become dramatically harder when the enemies out level you, but at level 80, one must turn on "upscale enemies" to make them any bit of an adversary. Glad the video was entertaining.

    Hi. Is the new moon pants vital to this build? I'm torn between following you and keeping my Wolf School trousers who give me more slots for Quen intensity and adds quite the % in elemental resistance. (it's the only 0% in my main resistances otherwise)

    Nice guide. But the best steel sword is Toussaint KNIGHT Steel Sword. It's a bit higher attack than Belhaven Blade, same 100% crit dmg, 20% crit chance, 15% burning chance, 300 armor piercing, and 30% quen intensity. You can get the diagram by defeating the Hanse base boss at the very north of the Toussaint world map.

    Bear school gear for monsters and Toussaint knight's tourney gear for humans (we need to 75% resist for all non-monster damage)
    Take 25% resist from skill (oil on sword) - it stacks with gear resists
    That's it. Full resist to all enemies. It works on the latest version.
    With your gear you take a huge damage and can be one-shotted. With my gear I can kill any enemies (even with much higher lvl than Geralt) easily without dodge

    Hey! Quick question if you don't mind answering: How do you heal when striking? I'm new to the game, been playing Deathmarch and 've had a lot of trouble with health management hehe

      This build allows you to stack potions and decoctions and reap their benefits. Two of those decoctions you should make use of are the ekimmara and ekhidna; there's where your HP regeneration comes from. One is a life regen based on the amount of damage you do and the other is based on stamina consumption that synergizes well with the archgriffon decoction. Check out the potion/decoction part of the video for more help. Hopefully you enjoy the game!

    It's probably been said before but, for late game silver swords that have crit chance and crit damage I would recommend Ami (Levelled loot from 'Tufo Monster' contract) or Cantata (levelled? loot during 'What lies unseen' main quest AKA 'bad ending'). Both have +15% crit chance & +75% crit hit damage. Likewise for steel swords: Toussaint steel sword (crafted) or Hen Gaidth steel sword (levelled loot in beginning of Unseen Elder cave. Need to get stone key during 'blood simple' quest and can obtain after main quest line. Can get after 'good' or 'bad' ending). Both have +15% crit chance & +75% crit hit damage.

      Forgive my lack of understanding of NG+ mechanics. Actually Toussaint Steel sword might not be viable if you started NG+ above level 52 as it would have a level requirement of >100. So the max level to begin NG+ and still be able to use Belhaven blade and Gesheft would be lvl 55 as they have a lvl req of 45 in the base game.
