Fun fact: The Segmented Crawbster actually had both of its arms mutated, but one was ripped off. When you kill an emperor bulblax in a previous floor, it throws up a giant crab arm, implying the emperor bulblax swallow the Crawbster’s arm.

My grandmother and I used to play Pikmin together, and we still do occasionally, but I remember that my grandmother, my sister, and I were in the living room of her house playing Pikmin 2, and when we all saw the Waterwraith for the first time, my grandmother thought it was super creepy, and my sister (who was pretty young at the time) actually ran out of the room crying! It was so funny. Pikmin will always be my favorite series of games

I feel not only the bosses are creepy, but the music and atmosphere add so much.
Only good thing to know is olimar is 2.2cm tall (1inch) which means I could 1v1 most of these and win.
The atmosphere really reminds me of when I use to live in a Victorian house and have a big yard. Just the feeling of pure nature and familiarity.
Smokey Prog gets my top pick. It's in an already creepy, dreary, foggy environment, and it seems like it's in a trance of some sort. Plus, the theory that it's a deformed Mamuta.

I'd say the Puffstool, the walking mushroom that held the Omega Stabilizer in Pikmin 1. There's nothing more terrifying than having an angry mob of Pikmin suddenly switch sides and start attacking you. The first time I saw this, I spent YEARS choosing to leave all my Pikmin behind and punching the not-at-all fun guy to death.
I'm terrified of the Desicated Skitter Leaves, they're the only enemy in the Pikmin series that actually creep me out.

bro there’s several theories regarding the Plasm Wraith that I feel you should know about. Here are the theories:
1. The Water Wraith is a juvenile Plasm Wraith. They’re both made of a gelatinous substance, they’re both commonly found in dark areas, and the Water Wraiths are smaller. Honestly that’s about as far as that goes, but I figured it was still worth mentioning.
2. The Plasm Wraith was what caused the original crash landing. This one doesn’t have any real PROOF to it, at least from a scientific view, but it’s heavily implied in the games that the crash landing in Pikmin 1 wasn’t an accident. Also, its Japanese name is very similar to the name of a Japanese ghost (or demon or something along those lines, I forget the specifics) that, in its legends, shipwrecks boats at sea to try to kill the captain. That is important because in Pikmin 3 it kidnaps CAPTAIN Olimar. Keep in mind that Nintendo is a JAPANESE COMPANY, and this is a JAPANESE LEGEND, and there’s some evidence that it was a least inspiration.
you know, now that I think about it, someone should ask someone at Nintendo who worked on all 4 Pikmin games if these are actually true. They both make decent sense, so I’m curious if those theorists got those right.
The first theory doesn’t seem likely, given that the waterwraith’s physical form is thought to be “anchored in another dimension”, although I guess it’s possible that “wraiths” in pikmin are some sort of bizarre species that protect their young by putting their physical form in another dimension.

The creature your thinking about is the amebozu, and I made a comment about that theory, but the wraiths are both called the amebozu in Japan, which is a combination of ameba and umibozu, the ghost that attacked sea captains.

I cannot even explain the FEAR that the water wraith gave me. The music. The sound he makes. Everything. My anxiety would not let me play that game for so long because of him. When I finally beat the game I cried.
lol i beat him yesterday and everytime he spawned in the sublevel, i dipped and moved on to the next sublevel to avoid pikmin deaths

In truth the Waterwraith is all bark, and no bite. While you must avoid the rolling pins, once down to half it’s hp,
the rolling pins disappear, and the Waterwraith starts running scared

I remember playing pikmin 1 with my late aunt and then we started playing pikmin 2 together, but we only got half way through before she passed. 4 years later, I got my mom into pikmin and we finished pikmin 2 together before we moved on to pikmin 3. Man this series is painfully underrated.

Once upon a time I was young and playing Pikmin 3. I'm taking slowly and gather up my yellow pikmin to break down an electric gate, curious as there was nothing in the big circle that the gate was blocking. After the gate was destroyed I walked through and soiled myself as a purple creature randomly falls down from the sky. I nearly fainted, it was that horrifying despite me not having a fear of spiders. I didn't pick up the game again for a good 4 months. The shaggy long legs fine now, but that initial jumpscare was so traumatizing to me as a young boy that I had nightmares for months after the jumpscare. Don't get me started on that death animation...
Seeing someone type 'when I was young' in reference to pikmin 3 is throwing me sideways. I remember dying over and over to the armoured beetle in pikmin 1.... When I was young. Q w q where does time go!
@@x4iaw931 I got clapped by the big bulborb of the Forest of hope and it gave me nightmares about seeing this big red bulborb just munching away at the little pikmin. That being said, once I came back to the game the creature didn't look as gigantic as I thought it.
Fear really makes you see things where they're not, especially as a child.

Emperor Bulborb will always be my #1 pick. Even if its not scary now, nothing will ever make me forget the first time i came across him in pikmin 1; you see a little leafy moss thing in the middle of the sand, don't know what it is, might be a part, might be a cutscene to the boss, but no. What you get is a freaking EXPLOSION sound effect that scares the crap out of you as the final boss of Pikmin appears XO!!!
At least he didn't mention that the water wraith instakills everything but the player

Other than the Waterwraith, the enemies that scared me the most were the Mitites. They scared me so much that I tried to avoid breaking eggs whenever it was possible. I'm just glad they didn't return in Pikmin 3.

For the spider enemies, you forgot Raging Long Legs. Though I guess it's not that creepy considering that boss fight is a complete pushover.

If the Humans in the Pikmin Series have devolved into different Species of Wraiths in which the Goolix might be one of. Than it stands to reason that they would be more determined to take them down after hearing about how Olimar taught the Pikmin how to use their combined strength and the teachings he passed onto them in order to form strategies to take down all other Species that now inhabit the Planet which was once known as their home back when times where simpler.
For the titan dweevil and the plasm wraith you say you need to use all types of pikmin but then the footage shows you only using yellow pikmin for the titan dweevil and rock pikmin for the plasm wraith
While you don’t have to use every type of Pikmin, it will take less time to kill if you use all types of pikmin. Some people use all 1 kind to prevent deaths, since the type they choose is immune to their deadliest attacks.
It's strange how the Mamuta are Docile unless provoked in Pikmin 1 but are immediately hostile upon spotting Olimar and his Pikmin in Pikmin 2.

when you first meet him he is startling, but after that he's a fairly easy boss.
in fact almost all of the long leg lineage is just wait for them to calm down, throw, then wait again only while being attacked, they don't even look like spiders all that much, their made of wax, metal, black coloured wax, (except shaggy long legs) they have four legs, a symetrical body, and no eyes, a very simple design that isn't that intimidating.
Well in Pikmin 2 Olimar says that beady long legs' scientific name is pseudo arachnia which means false spider

My theory on the Mamutas are that they could possibly be related to humans or primates, possibly the distant evolution of primates. In Pikmin 2, Louie describes them as "Inedible. Tastes like chicken." Human meat is often referred to tasting like chicken.

I’m glad people still remember pikmin because I feel like Nintendo is trying to pretend the pikmin series doesn’t exist and make us forget it exist due to them not giving us any news on pikmin whatsoever. Let’s just hope Nintendo actually does what the fans want them to do: make pikmin 4
I would say it is in development. Nintendo, unlike other companies doesn't like announcing games too early in development, Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4 being exceptions but also examples of why they don't like doing it. They would much rather keep development a secret until the game is only a year or two away from launch. It takes a long time to make a game from start to finish, especially if the game is starting from scratch. BotW2 is a game that they were able to announce quickly likely because it is using a majority of the assets from the first game, so a large portion of work was cut out for them.
@@nickstoneham5629 Problem with that argument, though, is that they DID already announce it. Almost 5 years ago. And it's basically confirmed from another interview (which was the only news we got since then) that the announcement 5 years ago was NOT referring to Hey. Although I do myself think it's in development too, that argument doesn't really work there.
@@vb8133 if possible, could you show me that announcement? I must have missed it and would very much like to see it. But if it was announced 5 years ago, then it is still going to take more time for development. Especially if they haven't said something since which just means they haven't gotten far enough that they feel confident to show us yet. Or they are about to show us soon in the next big direct.
@@nickstoneham5629 Don't have a link on hand but you can look it up. Many people believe the game has been delayed because of the two mario maker games and animal crossing because all of those and pikmin are made by the same development team, but I'm not sure how true that is. Also the announcement from 2015 said it was 'near completion' so that's another weird thing about it. The release of the switch probably also had something to do with it since they would need to rework the game for it.
@@vb8133 Hm? A lot of what you say makes sense. However, my issue is that it was apparently near completion in 2015, which was only 2 years after the third game came out. Unless they started development before they even finished the third game, I find it unlikely that statement was true to begin with.
Sure, these guys are scary, but you gotta remember that the Waterwraith is only about the size of a 3x2 lego brick
Also with the Long legs family in the Pikmin games, they are said to have their organs in their feet in stead of their abdomen, as their abdomen is a weaker section of its body, while its feet are impenetrable, and can’t injury its organs while walking

The plasm and water wraiths actually both have the same name. They are called the amebozu which is a combo of ameba and umibozu. The umibozu is a piece of Japanese folklore and mythology, and for anyone who didn't know, it is a being that struck down ships at sea and captured the captain, never letting go. Ever. People think that the amebozu is the reincarnation of it, just attacking space captains instead of sea captains. Think about it and what it was doing to olimar. It didnt want olimar to be rescued, so it was doing everything it could to 'protect' him. The umibozu never let go of the sea captains, so this could very well be it. Keep in mind that every landing there has been a wreck. The amebozu could be responsible for the meteorite in pikmin 1, the trees in 2, and the 'accident' in 3. When u think about it, things start to make sense. Some people even say goolix might be an early version of it, but I doubt it.
It seems like the Pikmin enemy’s are meant to be creepypasta material.
The flower enemies that blend in with with flowers always scares me more than the waterwraith.

The gattling groink, water wraith, cannon beetles, derigibugs, and hazards are some of the most feared things in *the entire series*
And the main reason people fear and aren't afraid (if that makes sense) is the enemy's ability to kill pikmin fast or are hard to fight, its just never fun to confont these guys...

Not to mention it’s the hardest boss in the game following the easiest boss in the game.
I think the water wrath is the creepiest but not as the boss but as the undefeatable enemy that will apear if you stay in a cave level for 5 minutes and 2 rollers will apear but this time you can walk while it is there and the water wrath apears and it will apear no matter the amount of space. (only in pikmin 2)
