You made a very point about using ink drawings in watercolor to help take some of that pressure off! As a beginner, I’m moving between thinking about color and brush size and water control and dryness of paper and the actual shape of everything-yikes-overload! I’ve recently realized these decisions make me work faster than I should, and the image suffers. But now I understand, and I’ve got a better approach, I think, by drawing first, and then enjoying the uniqueness of watercolor paints as I color my drawing.
