Great overview of IFS thanks for doing it. I could be wrong, but my understanding it that all parts can blend, not just exiles, a part has blended when it has taken over the seat of consciousness and we ask it to unblend a little so we can relate to it from Self, sometimes I will deliberately ask a part to blend to get to know it. An exile taking over the system would still be understood to be blending, but in this case it is more of a flooding.
