      any chance you might create a book on TVpaint? I find the program painfully un-intuitive. and a reference book would really help. when my animation time is limited

      The Art of Aaron Blaise you have been such an inspiration to me. Not only as an animator but as a person.

    Aaron Blaise is awesome with his promotion of 2D animation and TVPaint!. OF COURSE TVPAINT IS, TO ME THE BEST AND MOST ROBUST 2D SOFTWARE FOR ANY ARTIST THAT IS SKILLED IN DRAWING. keep up the ministry

    #legends right there...., i first heard Aaron talking about TVPaint during one of his lessons about 3/4 yrs ago, i got a demo version and just fell in love with it, am looking into getting the newer version, i have tried its demo version and its fantastic, i just wish there were more lessons and tutorials on painting in tvpaint, some of the coloring tools and brushes in tvpaint are unbelievable....

    They just need to bring this to ipad pro and a none beta Android version.i don't even mind if the mobile versions are slightly limited, just have the core drawing and frame stuff out help rough animator app out. It would be nice if you guys expand on the issues that ios has, do they just not let some of the tech you use in the desktop versions in ios

    I'm a student and I can't afford it but I've been using the demo version and I absolutely love it. Krita is a good alternative for it. But krita lakes behind regarding performance and composition features. Now I'm using Tahoma2d.

    It's unfortunate how expensive it is. The basic version is $500.00

      Compared to toon boom it's reasonable.

    2:03 I didn't recognize the hardware. Is that a Cintiq 13 or something?
    edit: I've watched the rest of the video and and it could be something new.

      This device is the new Cintiq Pro. I think it was the 16 inch model (there is also a 13 inch).

    2d animation won't die I'm not an anime dude, that's pretty much where you can find some quality animation, us is pushing more of 3d, and 2d has been produced kind of cheaply but it's still there

    Bring down the price than I'll consider it. There are programs out there that are on par or even superior to Tv Paint for a lower price.

    • @dragos6625
      @dragos6625 5 лет назад +8

      Then buy those programs instead of TVPaint. The same issue I see here with people complaining about Wacom's prices, for an exemple. If you don't like the price, simply don't buy and buy from another cheaper brand, or, stop whining and start saving, get a job.

      You see, this is industry standards so it's not for hobbyist. It's directed on someone who does animation for living since the return pay is higher like 5x the price of this software. As for hobbyist or even small time freelancer and still can't afford it, try Krita, it's free or Clip Studio Paint EX Animation. Toon Boom Studio is also cheaper.

    • @Soldiershak
      @Soldiershak 4 года назад +4

      So get that other software, i can tell you don't know why certain animators pick tv paint over the others so you're just talking from an ignorant place. Toon boom and tv paint definitely has a different final result. Save up and pay for the software or move on.

      On the one hand, I agree with you to an extent where these are products designed for the prosumer and professional market, rather than hobbyists. On the other hand, competition drives competitive pricing. I still remember when the smallest Cintiq was $2k, in the late 00s/early 00s. Now, thanks to the patent for Wacom's digitizer pen tech expiring in the mid-00s, many cheaper chinese alternatives have forced Wacom to start their pen display pricing point at just $400 with the Wacom One, which they've been promoting heavily as of late.
      If monopolies continue to provide unreasonable prices, there will always be competition willing to undercut them the moment the opportunity arises. Another example of this is how more startups have now started opting for Blender over Maya, due to its increasing cost effectiveness and features like the grease pencil that have now begun to surpass Maya's feature set.
