As a frame by frame animator, I use tv paint
Ok granny gives head with no videos
❤️❤️❤️
How would you rate krita in comparison to toonboom harmony and TVpaint
All I needed is a TV Paint, But it was expensive.
Excuse me, what do you think about Opentoonz? As a frame by frame animator? Is it better or worse than TVpaint?
I like Toon boom harmony I use to rigging, effect and key frame to but TVpaint have amazing effect and drawing tools but I use mostly Toon boom harmony.
Thanks for sharing!
Tom Bancroft used TVPaint in some episodes of the 1st season of the Animaniacs revival for Hulu, while most of the episodes in the revival used Toon Boom Harmony such as Snipple Animation & Tonic DNA.
As a TVPaint user ide say the most major difference between the two is scale. Toon boom is made for thoroughly large productions. Very compartmentalized for teams of people doing specific jobs. It is a more diverse package than TVP with many notable features that make it more suitable for a wider variety of animation styles. Its native vector base nature presents tools that can be non destructive unlike a soley bitmap based application such as tvp. Draw a bad stroke you can go in later and tweak its size and shape. As for Tvpaint, its a purist 2d hand drawn application very well suited for either the independent artist or the smaller production crew. Where toon boom can be production complicated, Tvpaint is down right fun because its complexity is mostly that of what the user makes. Its toolset is diverse and it does indeed have a multiplane camera. In fact the beauty of tvp is the fact its only as complicated as you need it to be. Use it as a flipbook or access its deeper toolsets and managmeny rooms for full out production work. Its being used more and more by japans animation houses as it best adopts to that tradition work flow. Not to mention what ever customizable flow you wish. Little know is that it also supports older photoshop filters. So to sum up. Toon boom is for pro level work. Tvpaint covers from beginners hobbyist independent artists and pro's its whatever the user can get out of him or herself and tvpaint will cover majority of your needs. But which should you buy? I love TVPaint that said most studios use toon boom as it's far more feature diverse, again it's vector based nature makes for non destructive work flow and scalability. Expanded output range and more. TVPaint is no slouch but it could fare well with some of toon booms native features such as vector based tools. Still it's exceeds in fun factor. And naturalistic feel. It's truly traditional made digital.
If you work in the animation field and have animation quotas to respect every day or week, the vectorial tools of toonboom are a real plus !
As a frame by frame animator, I struggle a lot with the bitmap system of TVpaint that litterally destroy your drawings when you apply rotation, perspective or scale... What a waste of time, if you need to deliver a clean drawing sequence...
Easy translation tools lack from TvPaint as well...
For me, ToonBoom is a more reasonable choice if your film don't need any "arty" feature like oil painting. Vectorial is sooooo handy even for drawings (not only for cut-out)
Change the antialias setting to smart or best when using rotation, transform etc in the tools properties window. This will stop the destruction of your raster images. Most of the time it's a simple setting changed from default to higher quality.
@@DraconianRain I dit, it's all set properly. but the quality loss after scale and rotation are still there. It can be otherwise because of the bitmap technology, but still, it looks rougher than photoshop...
Anyway, I think it's a decent software when you need to do artistic short films, or when you work as a keyframe animator and when your animation is cleaned by a clean up artist afterward.
In my case, the pipeline of the feature film I'm currently working on is asking the key animator to inbetween and clean their own animation. In that case Tvpaint loses a bit of interest in my opinion.
Thank you for your advice anyway !
Agreed 👍 I'd say the same for flash/animate
@@_v_m_ After 7 months of Tvpaint 11 on a feature film. I came to like it, and I learned to go around its flaws.
I totally agree with you about the "feel". It is pleasant to draw on tvpaint (at a normal zoom) and it has many very cool option.
But I still find it very unconvinient when used in production with smooth line design. I see that "Primal 2" staff sweats to make such incredible dinosaurs animation, and I can't help myself to think that it would be more confy on Harmony. Same render, less effort. ^^
Anyway, it's good to have a variety of software, and mix it all ! 😉
Hi, I am beginner In animation. Now I am using after effect but I want to Make videos like cartoon network or disney. Please suggest me good software as there are many animation and cannot decide which one is better
Thank you. That was great! Keep up the great work.
gosh thank you a lot for this!
Woooaah, I didn't Know Inspiration tuts 2d is there, I'm all in 2D and 3D so here's your new subbie🤟
"tvpaint has this and that, it is like this and that, with perfect way to do this and that..... and harmony has also good tools"
thank you.
I think they meant harmony has those plus more
Beautiful comparison between them
Keep the good work👍
VERY VERY WELL EXPLAIND and GREAT POINTS to both softwires :) :) Please provide the link for the rigging of Repunzel part from your video by Alison. As well as the other riging parts from your video.
Thanks so much I've got toon boom but I'm going to come try TVpaint too since I'm more of a hand drawn person.. I've only ever animated in Firealpaca so this is helpful
how much is toon boom? is it like a subscription thing?
@@itook_zukoshonor5938 i just downloaded crack version ;-;
@@lilyai4062 😭😭😭
@@lilyai4062 is there anything you’d recommend? I’m struggling to find a good (affordable) animation software :/
Please do a tutorial how to make puppet animation like riging 2d animation on opentoonz please
Im a flipaclip and photoshop user and i wanted to use softwares and so i tried Toonboom its still not easy for me but im still getting hang of it! But i feel like i might enjoy Tvpaint so this is very helpful!
Exactly broo , I'm Photoshop user for my digital arts, but toom boom is hard for me to draw how I used to draw in Ps
If you like ghibli style animation TV paint is wht I recommend
Or OpenToonz which is what Ghibli Studio actually uses though it gets a lot of Haters do not know why? its particle system is better then Harmony's.
Love from Bangladesh
Starting out and just got toonboom. Can I use it if I don't know how to draw at all?
Tutorial how to rig on opentoonz or toon boom harmony harmony
Whats the best? TVPAINT or OPENTOONZ?
I can't seem to download TV paint on my new comp, any advice?
Is banding an issue with TVpaint because it has 8 bit colour depth? It's confusing I've read people saying both yes and no. Otherwise I wouldn't hesitate buying it. I saw on the official forums that TVpaint 12 will have more higher bit colour modes like 16 bit, but who knows when that will release.
For me toon boom is the best💪😩
Hello I'm a begginer animator and I wanted to ask which software is better for creating frame by frame and which software has more ability to create longer animations? And what software is better for creating Anime?
Hey, it’s been a while since you posted this question, but no one answered and I thought I would give it a shot. Both programs will do frame by frame animation, but if you like more of a painterly style over a graphic one tvpaint is the way to go. For anime, professionals usually animate on paper and then bring it into a free animation program called Toonz. It’s what the ghibli movies were animated in! But if you are a very beginner to animation I might recommend Clip Studio Paint EX. It was the easiest for me to grasp as a beginner

Animated vs clipstudio
I had been animating on photoshop and after effects for some time and I found it annoying whenever I wanted to make a single drawing animation either a simple movement to one direction or something with more repetition. Maybe toonboom harmony will give me a great middle ground without having to preplan which element will be animated seperatelly in after effects instead of program such as photoshop which has no animation automations.
As an inbetweener, I'm required to use TVPaint. But coming from Clipstudio, I'm really struggling with the lack of features. 😅
Why not stay on clip paint studio?
i love frame by frame animation...TBH is cool, but rigging...
Thanks for the feedback x) rigging can actually be helpful for character animation under certain circumstances, like low budget or tight deadlines (since puppet animation is much faster that the frame-by-frame one, you don't have to redraw the whole character to create movement).
Can you make a video about opentoonz vs toonboom or krita who's better
Krita
@@akashsssharma4084 Krita is worse than toonboom, equal to opentoonz
Toonboom is much better when it comes with effects, tools, and riggid.
Krita's got nothin on toonboom, opentoonz strikes me as a good free toonboom alternative if youre not doing advanced rigging
Cual usan en los estudios de animación japonesa? (anime)
My studio does. :)
Not that early but stl
Can we open toon boom file in after effect?
No
Toon boom files are specific to the program. But if you want to composite your animation in after effects, i reccomend exporting your toonboom animation as a PNG sequence and then importing that sequence to after effects. Theres tutorials on this if you want to learn more :)
TV paint is better
the playback button in toon boom alway glitch
Toon Boom is demanding in terms of hardware indeed..
If you are going to use Toon Boom software, make sure you have a Wacom tablet and not other Brands. Toon Boom doesn't support third-party Tablets.....kinda sucks!
Edit : Found a solution, works now!
Not true, I use a huion display tablet and it works just fine
I use xp pen and it works just fine, you just gotta disable qt wintab tablet support and it’ll work just fine for anything that isn’t wacom.
Thats not true at all.....I use huion hs64 & it works well a cheap 45$ pentab
Moho is the best. No further questions.
Is this VivziePop vs Piemations?
Ничего не понял, но было интересно
ТВ пэинт в покадровой ебёт, но Хармони имеет больший функционал.)
Toonboom is a very good software, however the huge disadvantage is that they only support wacom pentabs, which is the worst thing they did.
They won't even start supporting pentabs from Huion and XP-Pen.
damn i have xp-pen sucks
@Jaison Roberto that's pretty good but still don't know about xp pen well won't know till I try 😀
@@rehan4783 I have the xp pen artist pro 15.6 and works really well for toon boom, you just gotta disable qt wintab support in the advanced settings after selecting preferences, sensitivity works greatly, and there’s no lag, not to me at least.
@@user-tk5gg6dr5o yea I did that and it works smooth
@@user-tk5gg6dr5o yea use the setting windows tablet instead of wintab 🎉
toon boom 100% u have the option to rig or do frame by frame with the best drawing tools they have to offer. imo lol
I'm just comparing them both to OpenToonz. Edit at the end: I like OpenToonz better.
OpenToonz is good but for me it always lags and crashes which makes working very hard. And sometimes my frames just delete themselves
The most unsuccessful program in the world, but in addition, it forces you to buy, so why do you make downloading the program free? Are you laughing at us?
Krita is better than TV paint and Harmony at frame by frame in my opinion, first for being free and also for better brushes and a better painting experience.
lol
bubbleeat is bad
