This helped me a lot. I am a retired senior citizen , taking courses at a local college . I was a cameraman all my life and barely learned photoshop basics at the end of my career. I always day dreamed of doing cartoons and tv paint is the program I chose. It seemed so layered and complex I could not get to first base. This video really helps me see how to do primitive ideas and get started. Thank you so much.
I am so happy to help!! Thank you for watching and I am so excited to see what you create, if you post anything on RUclips I would love to see it! Have fun with TVP!! ❤️
@@imsmallfry wasn't expecting you responding! Since you did I will give you this hint, try holding CTRL while drawing in the timeline in TvPaint! See what happens
im using TVPaint for an animation class this upcoming school semester. Learning remote can feel isolating so your videos have been a HUGE help as I learn something new in an unconventional time for learning.
You have a great teaching style! - clear, concise, methodical -yet w/ a really happy feeling. It is so easy to learn from you! Thank you so much! I have previously been struggling and slogging through trying to consolidate some very fuzzy knowledge gleaned from the manual, other tutorials and a dizzying array of forums until I came across your great straight shooting and joyful tutorial. YAAAAAY!
THANM YOU SO MUCH, I’m going to an animation workshop next week in France and I haven’t spoken French in a while so I wanted to be prepared to get to know the program instead of not understanding the prof speaking French explaining the program anyways yeah thanks a lot I learned about the texture/colour layer thing and omg u changed my life, I used to just colour on a layer underneath without being able to fill it 😭
Thank you so much for this short tutorial! Been searching for a suitable animation program for months now and it seems like TVpaint is the one after this and testing it out as well.
There's pros and cons to both programs. Coloring is 1000 times faster in TVpaint. Doing finished line art is more convenient in adobe animate, since you can resize and adjust without losing line quality since adobe is vector.
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! All the other tutorials where SUPER long and I didn't have enough patience to sit through 45 minutes of a boring tutorial, but this was so much fun to watch!
I'm so glad that I could help and entertain! I have trouble keeping focused for long tutorials too, but if the person seems excited about the work it's much better for me, so I tried to make this video as light and fun as possible :D
This is an excellent tutorial! I've been using tv paint for some time and this video taught me things that I missed or never learned. I will definitely show this to other people that want to learn tv paint. Looking forward to more tutorials! :D
Heyyy thank you for your information... Its very easy to understand your explanation, i wish you won't stop sharing this kind of video... love youuu have a great daay
this is the best tutorial ive seen for anything! its very engaging and really easy to follow. i usually get bored watching tutorials but you kept me entertained the whole time. love party puppy too lol
Thank you for this video. I’ve been using TVPaint for a long time, but I’m always pleasantly surprised when a video shows me something new. I learned something new from yours.
thank you so much for your video . one of the most amazing tutorial I have ever seen . please make more tutorial about the tools in tvpaint animation . cheers
I’m just about to start work on a short test for a game project that’s due this week. I’m tired of Procreate and wanted to try TVPaint and your tutorial came in clutch
So useful!! I have a project for uni due in a few days and you literally saved me like an hour of tutorial videos. Also, love your energy - this video was not the slightest bit boring :D epic keep up the good work!
Ohmygosh this was a really fun intro to TV Paint. I just went all in and bought it, I'm pretty excited to dive in and make some fun animated music videos with it. Thanks for this vdeo, your personality is really fun and wonderful! Hahaha, hope to see more fun content soon! :D
Thank you so much for your tutorial! There's only a few good tutorials on RUclips. On an unrelated note, you sound a kinda like Claire Corlett, a voice actor for MLP
This is super helpful! Thank you so much, i'm thinking about getting TVpaint & I have a question. Does the creation pack come with the animation feature? The site was a little unclear and I just needed a little clarity before making a purchase! Thanks
soggy toes I’m glad you found it helpful! I don’t have the creation pack but it seems to me that it’s just an expansion pack and doesn’t contain the entire animation program, but does contain some brushes, color pickers and other add-ons for the program. I hope that helps!
@@imsmallfry thank you so much! I'm so dumb because it says that in the title. So glad that I didnt buy that instead of the standard edition :o Thank you again!
thanks, learned a lot. a question though, what would the difference be between creating a duplicate layer to bucketfill with color, then merge, instead of just bucketfilling the current layer as it is? i cant figure out the difference of that
Hi!! The reason I do this is because sometimes I think I'm done with the lineart but later I want to go back and change some things, having only a merged layer makes it so I have to erase the coloring as well as the lineart. If this were a big project I'd have left them separate for a longer period of time but since it's a simple 1-2 second clip I just merged them right away. It's more of a personal preference than a rule but it's saved me a headache or two lol!
I’m having trouble to decide what I should get should I get tvpaint or Adobe animate. I’m mostly just looking for a good animation software that’s good with hand drawn animation
How do you not have the white background. I want to work with transparencies n alpha channels but this isn’t as obvious as photoshop and it’s hard to find the answer online just says activate transparency button but it doesn’t take away that white square no matter what layer

Probably one of the best beginner tutorials Ive listened too for this application. Very well presented and easy to follow, thanks.

This looks much easier than Adobe animate, I might use it

Man I wish I knew about the coloring option for years...
I didn’t figure it out for a while too! I think it’s one of the more recent additions- I didn’t know about it until 2016
I've been using TVPaint for 6 years and I'm still learning new things!
nice vid! I like your candor, "I don't know what that button does, I never use it". (something to that effect). Nice pacing, too.
Thank you! I'm sure that button is important somehow and I'm gonna make it my mission to find out how XD Thank you for watching!

Thank you!! I need to get a copy of toon boom, my subscription ran out! But it’s possible in the future ❤️

Ty! I might try the free trial !
this is very helpful for 2d hand-drawn animation.
Brilliant!! Incase we want to move the background grass, giving a wind effect, how do we do it?
Dang i have never seen a company so protective of there software where they give you a whole USB drive 🤣
They lost me as soon as I found out it requires a dongle! 1995 called, they want their outdated, draconian copy protection back.
exactly 😂😂 wtf
@@myr940 it’s still a good software tho
Very good! (Love your voice)
Thank you so much!! :)
