  • I rescued this 57 Chevy 3100 pickup truck from a field where it had been sitting for 57 years. We're going to pull the body off this chassis to get it ready for more modern equipment.

Nice find in the old 3100. Can't wait to see where this goes.

Ypu have a gantry built-in to your ahop. Span your lower chords of your rafters with anything (6x6 timber) that will bear the weight of cab (1000 lbs?). Chainfall on the 6x6, and a sling through the doors of cab and lift. Roll out chassis from underneath. Problem solved.

Jack each side block until you can get a 4x4 across to hold it high enough to roll the frame out from underneath.

I thought about that, but I didn't have the materials to jack it that high or span the width. Thanks for watching and the comment!

Lose those cutting disks they tend to come apart-in your face. Heat the bolts up first they will come out easier. Or a cutting torch if you have one. Js. Scott.

Those discs are pretty sketchy but my lack of patience makes me use them. I do have a torch but it’s not set up yet and I need to learn how to use it, so that’s a whole other challenge.

I got a diamond disk at menards for my 4 1/2 inch grinder and never bought another of those disks again.

@@scottphillips1210 I’ve seen those nicer ones! Even found a lifetime warranty one for $150. I just haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

Take the doors off put the cherry picker through the door opening to the middle of the cab get some straps around the floor lower the cherry pi code as low as possible lift the cab slide4x4s under the cab and put supports under the 4x4s high enough to role the cab crime under it
