I can never thank enough the Bayerische Staatsballet for giving us the enormous joy of having Sergei Polunin in Europe. What a gift! I like the Baydere, but I very much hope to see him soon in roles like Spartacus and Rudolph, where the brilliance of his technique and his interpretation, just shine!
I saw Polunin in April, 2017 in Munich in "Mayerling" - the whole Russian company was wonderful, better than the Royal Ballet actually. Polunin was fantastic as Rudolph - he became the character. It was beyond acting - really amazing

To me he looks just as gorgeous as always. I think that no one can keep up with him. He has it all : technique, artistic expression, ... He makes everything look so easy and totally natural, as if there is no other way to do it. When he danced Mayerling , it felt to me as if I could actually 'forget' that they were dancing or following steps, technique,... Everything was pure emotion and expression and seemed like the most natural way to move. I have never felt that before, it was unbelievable.
Exactly my experience! I get lost in the concept of a performance and am pulled into the new created reality of movement and emotion. So powerful! It is cathartic.
Incredible as usual! I love his unique style, so vital, never boring, without unnecessary mannerisms. Polunin is always a breath of fresh air after so many puppets in tights
Superb as always! How lucky they are in Munich to see him perform often in their city! One of the greatest dancers of today and I am sure he will end being considered one of the greatest of all time!!!

I was in Munich on that date but couldn't plan in advance to go to La Bayadere due to such a short time announcement of the cast. Please, try to announce your casting much more in advance.

They compare him to R.Nureyev.. I think,he is even better,because his expression is great and technik is more perfect,than the one of R.N. Every new century demands different skills..and dance skills of Polunin are very much stronger)
I believe this clip is a dress rehearsal. Munich does the Patrice Bart version of "Bayadere" , not the more traditional Markarova version that Polunin was used to doing in Moscow. Frankly, I had thought ,since Polunin was so busy in 2016 pushing his documentary and doing movies, thAt he would not do the Bayaderes in Munich because he would have to learn a new version and new solos. So I think this solo maybe a bit underrehearsed - but Polunin is still wonderful, like no one else.
Oh good grief; this is the music for Ekaterina Vazem's variation from "Paquita" and with a terrible re-orchestration! What on earth made Patrice Bart think this music is appropriate for a male variation, let alone an extra, unnecessary variation for Solor?! Also, I would much prefer to see clips of Maria Shirinkina, Vladimir Shklyarov and other full company members than unreliable Polunin...

I was there and see Polunin dancing live is crazy...You simply cannot stop watching him, he dominates the stage!
I was there too -- polunin was wonderful but the patrice Bart version of "bayadere" is nontraditional
He is mesmerising - a truly wonderful dancer, n outstanding, unique etc.

Not bad technically. But where is Polunins usual elegance? His movements are sharp and aggressive. Unusual for him hands. I'm upset(
