Audry Hi. At 13.53 I felt what you said in another video of yours. "I know brother I know". What a "right" to experience plant medicine with so great and humble shamans. Thank you for sharing.🌈🙏🏼Noemi from Israel.
Hey Aubrey, I'm going to be honest here: I had a lot of trouble finishing this documentary. But let me start with that I love: the atmosphere it evokes, the music, the people, the scenes, the filming, the photographs. That's all great. However, I wanted to learn about Huachuma and the culture around it. I must say that I learned little about that that I did not already know from other psychedelics documentaries. I'm still left with a lot of practical questions: what is the (ancient and modern) history of huachuma? How is it different from other psychedelics such as psilocybin or ayahuasca? What do we know and what do we not know? How are these rituals conducted? I see people drinking all throughout the documentary, but the process is unclear. It seems that people are walking or even being boated around. That's different from ayahuasca ceremonies. Why? What's the thinking behind this? Why did you specifically seek this out? When are people tripping, and when not? It seems people are pretty lucid while tripping? Is this a phase or during the whole trip? It would have been great to have an interview or two intermixed with these scenes. E.g. with an ethnobotanist, a neuroscientist, maybe someone working with other psychedelics in therapy. Maybe I had the wrong expectations, but as a viewer I expected these questions to be answered. More context in the beginning and perhaps a different title would have clarified what to expect. You say that your goal is to 'plug people in'. I think that's a wonderful and noble goal and I'm glad you came to that realisation. However, I don't feel that this documentary is achieving that very much. At least, I suspect it's mostly reaching people who are already somewhat plugged in. The words of wisdom from the participants are wonderful and ring very true to me. However, it's preaching to the choir: I'm already more than convinced of this whole paradigm (although of course, I have a lot to experience and grow still!). I'm afraid that, to someone unfamiliar with psychedelics/the hippie paradigm, a lot of the talk rings hollow and lacks context. Let me reiterate that I DON'T think they are hollow, but that without context they may come across hollow to people. With love, Siebe P.S. Not sure what's happening with my editing. Paragraphs seem to clump together.
Yes true very little practical information about this very ancient plant in this video. Pity since one finds tons of ayahuasca documenteries but very little about the San Pedro.
The information you are seeking will present itself when the time is right. Most of the ancient ways of working with this medicine were killed off a long time ago... the people who still use it have developed new types of ceremonies... but none of that technically matters because the plant still holds the wisdom and with the right intentions set you will get what you need... the intention could be as simple as "show me what i need to see"
It will give you the answers you are seeking hippie or not that is if the intentions are true to yourself and you are willing to grow and forget old beliefs... i suggest yoga and meditation to practicing on surredering to the flow of the universe
So did my beautiful daughter. Unfortunately she came upon a fake shaman who bullied her to her death last October. I will never get over losing her. Her light shone as bright as the sun. The western sacramental ceremony of the Holy Eucharist is now experiencing a revival with the aid of sacred medicine. We salute our Sisters and Brothers throughout the Cosmos who commune with the source of all being and life and light. May all traditions that provide a portal where people may experience the Divine within be promoted and become more accessible to those who receive the call.
That's exactly it, the magic potions are an actual eucharist. It's supposed to literally get you to experience heaven. The communion wafer should be a blotter or similar, it's been substituted with blanks.

I try to stand bare foot every day for at least 15 minutes and have an earthing sheet on my bed. Pachamama gives us EVERYTHING even the medicines and the rubber on the bottom of their feet. Great documentary tho. Thank you

It’s been a year since I tripped and I need a good reset. Building up all this negativity in my body and mind. Health issues are not good and my wife’s are worse. I had Ketamine recently and saw how the universe is like a spunge. The more you tune in the more entangled you become in a stream of consciousness and feel totally free.

Each and every one of us are capable of achieving these states whith out medicine. We are all born with connection to the divine. Notice where these people are and what they arnt doing. Go to the forest reconnect with what has always been there. Medicine can open a door you never knew was there, but you have to be the one to walk thew it.
Aaron unless you know what the experience entails you couldn’tknow exactly if your having the same experience so if I want to know I at least try dmt from there your experience of reality expands and you have the knowledge to deal with its reconception
@@zenmaster9864 im not saying that it can't expand your awareness. Im simply stating your body and mind are more powerful than you know. If you think a drug is the only thing that can expand perception then it is so. Have you ever done dmt? If you have then u know the effect of the drug does not last for ever. Meaning you body breaks down the compound and returns to normal chemistry. However you take something profound away form the experience, so whats left the drug or the mind
I'd be very surprised if you got into such states of consciousness without taking any (entheogens). Unless you can switch them off at will, how would you cope with 'normal' reality - everything about it is harmful to a woke state, the usual world is very dangerous to anyone in a spiritual consciousness. (it's very harsh to the body and soul, it all requires a very beta consciousness to deal with, crossing the road for example) Hence why set & setting are so important - you have to be in the right place/s. Surely also the point with the magic potions is - you get thrown through the door if you take them, you don't get a second choice - once you take them that is you, through the door, you may cancel them out with another drug if it's too intense, but that is about it.
I'll save you some time. This is not a documentary: it's a "soft-sell" infomercial for a for-profit drug retreat run by some Americans in Peru. For true spiritual seekers who don't have that kind of cash, Oakland is an option. I have no idea where in Oakland you will find a setting that suits you but I suppose you could create one. Thanks for this film, Aubrey. It has a beautiful vibe and Don Howard seemed to inspire confidence, trust, and love. After seeing this I'm much more willing to do a Huachuma ceremony. 🙏🏻👏
With love,
Siebe
P.S. Not sure what's happening with my editing. Paragraphs seem to clump together.
Yes true very little practical information about this very ancient plant in this video. Pity since one finds tons of ayahuasca documenteries but very little about the San Pedro.
I was having the same thoughts. Was really excited to learn more about huachuma.
Great and thorough analysis I agree with it all I think you should contact some people and make a documentary
Tomorow it will be this blessed day with this plant 🙏🏼❤️✨🌸🦋🧚🏽

I started to cry when Aubrey talked about working to get deeper layers. My brother Joey wanted this help before he died

So did my beautiful daughter. Unfortunately she came upon a fake shaman who bullied her to her death last October. I will never get over losing her. Her light shone as bright as the sun. My Favorite Plant guide and teacher! Love Huachuma!
There’s something very important missing: Huachuma. The documentary talked about everything except about it. Other important fact, Huachuma cactus grows in the Andes, above 1,000 meters above sea level. What does it have to do with the jungle?
That's what I was wondering...just made some and getting ready to take it with my mother. I cooked it in rural Georgia. It doesn't matter where you are...This will be the second time I have taken Huachuma.
This was aww inspiring.. I would so love to experience this journey. I have found some sense of enlightenment thru mushroom journeys but I want to go deeper with much intention. Thanks for sharing this documentary.

A simple statement with a profound meaning.
I'm sad to hear that Don Howard Lawler passed last year, or as the website says ascended. May his beautiful spirit continue to live on.
Dang that's sad, but his teachings are with us forever
His spirit is alive. No ones spirit truly dies. Spiritual death is being separated from God's consciousness and presence. Trippy wicked people get cut off and experience spiritual death.
@@monchiscastorena8768 death is no sad, we only perceive it as a sad thing. Those of us who do not live evil wicked lives graduate. God bless! One Christ love.
@@GodofLovers missing someone is sad.....but I agree with what your saying
From this film, Don Howard seems to be a very wise, warm, caring, and kind soul. His leadership also seemed to be calm and wise. The people who did ceremonies with Don Howard are very lucky indeed. 🙏🏻❤️
Too bad at the rate we are destroying everything in about 50 years there won’t be traditions, Amazon jungles, natives and even a god left!
@@moonwatch7963 Yes I agree with you. In our Gnostic Christian Eucharist, we are taking the medicine as the blood and body of the Sophia and the Logos.
Nice to see more footage about Huachuma.. I just don't understand why to go to the jungle while the cactus grows in the mountains.. Also to say that don Howard Lawler is the LAST Huachumero, that's ain't right folks.. but thanks for sharing!

I have experienced both Huachuma and Ayahuasca. I have taken Ayahuasca over several ceremonies. I feel like it helped me reach inside. I have so much I need to go through even now, but I enjoyed the experiences.
Did u have to drop a fuck ton of cash ?
I noticed the people (foreign to the jungle) at the ceremony in the jungle still had their shoes on. THere is no connection to Pachamama when wearing rubber on your feet. It really stuck out to me. I try to stand bare foot every day for at least 15 minutes and have an earthing sheet on my bed. Pachamama gives us EVERYTHING even the medicines and the rubber on the bottom of their feet. Great documentary tho. Thank you
I just bought my first San Pedro cactus. I look forward to it growing up and one day using it. I got spores to grow shrooms as well. I think it’s time to atleast try my hand at growing them. It’s been a year since I tripped and I need a good reset. Building up all this negativity in my body and mind. Health issues are not good and my wife’s are worse. I need a reset it would help so much.
I had Ketamine recently and saw how the universe is like a spunge. The more you tune in the more entangled you become in a stream of consciousness and feel totally free.
Huacuma with teonanacatl showed me the spirit I interact with in a holographic form, beyond an open eyed visual.
Love how you used tipper so much 🥰
Beautiful. And yeah I hear it's way chill. Me? Shooting for a way to take it and various varities etc that don't make you throw up. Like the tar variety is one thing to try
This is fascinating and the help it gives people is undeniabe. But how do you protect yourself from getting hijacked by another shaman?
Ive heard about bad shamans participating in ceremonies unbeknownst to the other participants. How is this addressed?
This documentary makes me so sleepy. That flute and the long breaks between talking
Thanks for sharing. It was of great value to me.
Really enjoyed watching this. Hoping to experience this in the Amazon myself some day. I have two San Pedro cacti growing on my windowsill here in not-so-sunny England, but not quite the same as taking part in a traditional Huachuma ceremony in the place the plant has been used for thousands of years. Aubrey the Two Docs you made should be available on Amazon Prime or Netflix. That would reach more people.
Are you some kind of expert?
Some of us need a kick on the behind
I'll save you some time. This is not a documentary: it's a "soft-sell" infomercial for a for-profit drug retreat run by some Americans in Peru. If you have several thousand dollars to spare and love to trip, by all means go to this place, it looks like fun. The San Pedro is legal and available in America. Oakland has legalized many entheogens, while it must be quite an experience to go to the Amazon rainforest , it's very expensive and going to one of these types of places down there will add to the expense. For true spiritual seekers who don't have that kind of cash, Oakland is an option. I have no idea where in Oakland you will find a setting that suits you but I suppose you could create one. I wouldn't think running around the city fits the profile but if you could create an indoor sanctuary for the experience or are aware of an appropriate outdoor/indoor spot you won't have to spend all of that money to commune with The Great Spirit. Those who are seeking shall find...
