I just bought one of these, and then saw this review and got worried. My main reason for buying this was to use the stick vacuum to get dog hair out of the corners of the hall way, stairs, and such. I figure a ligher weight machine would make it easier to do more often, compared to the bigger wired vac. I didn't think a portable / battery model would work too well on carpet because it doesn't have the power. I tried some medium-long carpet, and it wasn't that great at getting out dried grass. Takes several passes. But it did pull the dog hair out pretty easily with the narrow and wide roller fittings. This is from a springer spaniel that has long, fine hair. Also, there's a shag rug, and it pulled tons of hair out of that. On the first battery charge, I got 4 cannisters full of hair from around the house. And I was already vacuuming every few days with a smaller Ryobi. (1) It came mostly from the shag carpet and harder to reach places thanks to the stick length, and (2) that dang dog sheds A LOT. All in all, I'm pretty happy with this, given this exact dog hair problem. Maybe a shorter hair dog would need a stronger suction. Oh and I forgot the most important part. The "shut down" thing you mentioned only happened to me twice, right when I started, in the first 5 seconds. I just hit the button, went back to it, and it kept working with no more shut downs for the rest of the job.
@@ErinLawrenceTV I have some more experience now. Although the long shag carpet worked well, a throw rug with short carpet was a nightmare because it always shuts down every 10-20 seconds. For the time it's working, it is great. It pulls the hair off better than my corded or mini cordless. But I just have to press the button to turn it back on for another 10-20 seconds at a time. Really annoying.
Hi Erin, I don't have a pet but I was curious to see how this compared to my Shark Lift-Away. Thank you for another very honest review; you may well have saved someone from making a purchase they would regret. RogerC 12/17/24
How about long human hairs. I also have rugs too. I dont think this cordless handheld vacuum is suitable for my flat because i have mostly hard floors and a few rugs in my home
I find it works well on hard floors for hair and everything -- even a broken glass. (Also great for cobwebs up near the ceiling!) I'd worry about throw rugs. It always pulls dog hair out very well, but some throw rugs it wants to shut down frequently because the carpet gets sucked up and the airflow is entirely blocked.
Thanks for the review. I think the price should be part of the conversation.
Thank you. I was about to purchase but then decided not after watching this video. It is not easy on rugs.
You're welcome, and happy to help you avoid a regretful purchase!
