Live presence maybe not. Tone also not but it's improved recently and isn't bad in this video. Everything else: definitely.
He's really good, the maturity in his playing, vibrato, phrasing , technique etc is quite staggering at such an early age. A true monster in the making.
He’s a young master. Mozart level musician
7Pines Knives not so fast. He just covered(still a brilliant performance) but the people that wrote it are probably higher level musicians. But I could be wrong, 0-3-5
@@willparker547 I would have to agree, eventhough Max is amazing i think comparing him to Mozart isn't doing him any favors. Mozart wrote his first symphony at 8 years old (lol) , he was apparently known as a musician before that. Laying something like that on a 15 year old kid somehow expecting him to live up to it can stifle anyones developement and creativity. I'm sure Max will do great things in the future, that however remains to be seen.

@@7pines77 He's great but sofar he has yet to show any composing skills, will be interesting to see what he comes up with. One thing is clear though, his playing is maturing really fast , his vibrato is so much better than it was a year ago and he keeps adding more to his arsenal like hybrid picking etc.

Quiet Genius/Virtuoso. This boy have work very hard (with good guide) for many years. Max play thinking music, not scale pattern. I think him his probably the best guitarist I have hear in my life (seriously).

Page stares at his solo in Stairway to Heaven. Max is hardly looking and the phrases are far more complex. I think this kid's potential is to be top 3 all time.
Agree! Very little to critique in his playing. Many of his videos display great phrasing, and clean technique. It is like Cacophony and Paul Gilbert made a baby?!? If I were his teacher, I would try to expose him more to Lead Players that do More with Less, e.g. Gary Moore, David Gilmore, Billy Gibbons, Brian May, Neal Schon, Gary Richrath, Steve Lukather, Troy Van Leeuwen, Tom Scholz, Stevie Stevens, etc. He's already got the "shred" part down! Vito Bratta and George Lynch are good hybrid players to examine. Deep Dive is Grant Green and Paco De Lucia.

This guy is going to be fun to watch as he gets older and develops skill further. Already among the top guitarists on the planet. He makes it look effortless. Great influences on his music too. Max will make guitar heroes and being an accomplished musician respected again. 🤘

Max is better tehcnically than what JB was at 14, perfection is a moving target. Will he write better songs, do better arrangements etc ? Time will tell.

Anton oparin russain kid cover while he was 10 too, back in the day gilbert did it with raw tone , with zero effects lol this guy is hiding behind his 17layers of effects. Hes just a gilbert mimicker who sounds 10000% sloppier with no picking attack. Listen to the original dimwitttt

Just because he's a little stiff and non-emotional doesn't make him weird. He's from Russia and it's amazing to see such talent in a place that had so much traditional music. I hope he makes it big worldwide!!!!
Oh hes def eccentric and weird, as many geniuses are. He has a fantastic and subtle sense of humor.
I’d also add that this is probably like practice material to him. I’m sure he’s much more passionate and animated about writing and playing his own material.

Nope. keep solo. Nowadays a band will only delay you. Search for your space and when possible work in partnership with competent musicians and with the time and financial progress, hire professionals to work with you.
He should team up with David Coverdale....write and record a great album.....then fire Coverdale right before the tour starts and hire someone else to be front man for cheaper. Hahahaha......

The thing with Max Ostro is that he is young, a kid basically but you compare his playing to shredders in the genre and not to other kids. Many young players you hear may think they are playing a song like the album but their ears haven’t developed enough to hear that they actually are not that close to master a song even many older guys/gals do this as well. Max Ostro on the other hand does seem to hear and judges his own playing maturely his intonation , phrasing and vibrato is where it should be. I’m pretty sure he’s got a good mentor/parent, that has developed Max’s understanding for musiic but he also has a good ear for music (musical IQ). I’m actually really interested in hearing about the backstory of his playing and musical interest. I’m looking forward to see more playing and really curious what path he’s going make with his music and playing.
Let's hope he does not attend college or music school where the "experts" will promptly destroy his gift. The young man puts on a masterclass every time he plugs in his guitar.

Well there seems to be a lot of music professors out there. All I know is that kind is an amazing player and I guarantee that he worked hard to be that good... so the way I see it I think he's going to be fine doing what he's already doing because it's definitely working... I think he pretty much has it figured out 😎✌️
