About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television:
The MCCTv (FuzzyMemoriesTV) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose primary mission is the preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s to early 80s, mostly) recorded off of TV (in Chicago or other cities now too); things which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. If you have any old 1970s videotapes recorded off of TV please email: tapes@fuzzy.tv Even though (mostly) short clips are displayed here, we preserve the entire broadcasts in our archives - the complete programs with breaks (or however much is present on the tape), for historical preservation. For information on how to help in our mission, to donate or lend tapes to be converted to digital, please e-mail tapes@fuzzy.tv Thank you for your help!
If this commercial doesn't have "innuendo" written all over it, then I've never seen one before.
It sure was a great station before the sale to CBS. It's probably still the best commercial station in Chicago, but it's a shadow of itself.
A memorable series of commercials.
Around 1996, IIRC
@@royalsfan -- Are you around KC, too?
@@KCGeno my father's family is from there. I live in Chicago.
@@royalsfan -- Born and raised in Chicago (SW Side). About to leave KC after 20 years.
The City of Chicago is a shadow of its former self.
Perfect to honor Lin Brehmer who passed away earlier this year.
I grew up on XRT…In 1995, when it got sold, it started to go downhill. 😢
For anyone that's curious the book on his lap in the final shot is Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut.
More classic WXRT TV spots please!
I too, sleep with my Marantz stereo receiver next to me.
I thought that was a Marantz. 🤓🤩😍
I'd sleep with a 1970s Marantz.
Had that t-shirt in college!
WLS with Larry Lujack and Little Tommy.
Didn't Xrt have a Young Victorian Skit. ?
Anymore Radio Station Commercials from 1970s and 1980s or 90s I don't care
Walk up to the XRT Booth at any given Chicago Summer Street Fest and you'll likely hear a Baby Boomer gently lecturing the Gen Z station rep about how "'XRT was better when you guys talked the commercials."
lol
Can you post the original
WLUP/LOOP commercials?
