Everest is directed by Baltasar Kormákur (2 Guns, Contraband) and produced by Working Title Films’ Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, Cross Creek Pictures’ Brian Oliver and Tyler Thompson, as well as Nicky Kentish Barnes and Kormákur.

Yasuko was alive but they didn't carry her till the camp, they left her alone. She was a tiny light woman, they would carry her easily. But they left. She died because of rescue team mistake. Also, Rob was a moron, he left 7 costumers without a leader to just make happy Doug. They lost their way because there was no a leader. Also, he left Doug alone on the peak and he fell down. Rob and his idiot decision caused all of these deaths. Pity for Fisher, he had to climb twice to help his costumer and he was exhausted. He tried to follow Rob's idiotic decision and he died.

People always say stuff like they died doing what they loved. Like that’s some consolation. I can tell you definitely were not happy. Mountain climbing is predominantly an ego-pursuit and in the last moments climbers likely have an epiphany about what’s really important, realizing they have left their family to suffer.

I went to see a movie yesterday called l'ascension (french movie) based on a true story about a guy from a rough neighbourhood without a job who likes a girl and that girl tells him basically she can't trust him blablabla anyway she tell him she'll start dating him if he climbes the Everest thinking he will obviously never do it. A few weeks later he is fucking climbing the Everest and manages without any experience in alpinism to go on top of the world! At first he is doing it for her but he realises that he is doing it from himself. It was such an inspiring movie! anyone can do it even if it's completely reckless without any experience at the end of the day only your mental strengh and your motivations will matter.

@@eyan1114 “Nepal only allows highly experienced mountaineers to climb”-that’s actually not true. Nepal is notorious for allowing anyone who can afford to climb Everest to do so, and it’s why they had such a high death toll in 2019 (because there were so many inexperienced climbers that slowed everyone down). They propose regulations to address how many inexperienced climbers and how many climbers in general are on Everest, but it’s never enforced. Many of their rules are not enforced. At the end of the day, they are a poor country that heavily relies on Everest tourism, so they’re not going to be picky regardless of how many people die or get injured on the mountain.
