He had me at 4” body lift. That’s when I realized the quote “half assed” fits into this equation. But those -77 off-sets were another giveaway and for the 1st time it’s “whole assed”. That’s when the term “mall crawler” comes into play.

I'm not a mechanic by any means but it seems to me he got water in his transmission breather tube and blew it. I looked on the forums and guys who do serious off roadng with these rigs will extend the breather tubes for the transmission, both axles and transfer case. Hate that it happened. Maybe while he's getting that fixed he can also get a proper wheel/tire setup. That wheel bearing would have likely lasted a bit longer if he was on 40x13.5 tires (which is the usual tire size when someone says they're "running 40s") on a 17 or 18" rim rather than the 24s he has on there. Needs a less aggressive offset, too. Right now it has the look of a mall crawler. Regardless of whether that's what it is, that's what it _looks_ like.

Believe it or not he bought this truck just as it sits now. He didn't do any of the mods himself. 😂 He had an issue with the transmission not too long ago. Had it repaired and it's apparently still under warranty. We'll see... hopefully they don't see the video 😂😂

Well fun was had and lessons learned! There is alot more to off-roading than tires and a lift especially if you want to go in deep water. I made lots of mistakes and had to learn the hard way how to build a truck to perform well and put breather hoses on everything! Extreme offset rims are very hard on bearings as well! I feel bad for him because that's not a cheap fix!

@@4wdAdventurz Mine has some short stubby goretex type vents on the transmission and transfer case which should allow air in and out, but not water hopefully. I have extended my axle vents up quite a bit now (probably 48” minimum), but haven’t extended up the transmission and transfer case. The transfer case vent is 34.5” from the ground on my current setup and the transmission is 38.5” from the ground.
