To everyone complaining about the MIDI music: The music is not normally supposed to be this slow. The videocapturing is slowing down the game and the music being played. The videoresponse to this video shows what the music is supposed to sound like, if you have a decent soundcard...
@MotherPunker970 Someone did make a CV II-esq remake called Dracula's Shadow, which featured new & remixed music, more enemies & bosses, and item crashes. Only problem is that the game crashes frequently.
So is the gameplay exactly the same as in the original, and only the graphics and music are updated? I'd have loved to see the original stages with Rondo / Chronicles / SCV4 mechanics.
@scissormon: Hey do you know of anyway I can contact the creator of this project? I know its canceled, but I'm working on a CV3 remake of my own and would like to see if he's interested in sharing some of the custom work he made with me. It would be a shame for all that custom draw art to go to waste.
You're right, I just confused the two tunes. Sounds good, but I like the NES version better. Sounds better when it is faster. Same reason why I like a lot of the Super Castlevania IV music, especially the forest tune, but I do like the caves tune too.
That actually looked pretty alright-most home-brews are just God awful. Tweak the music a bit (not bad as is, but not quite what it could be), polish up on the boss intro & exit (I guess that was an understood though), flesh it out of course & you have something I think a lot of fans would be happy to stand behind.
oh yes this version will blow even the famicom version away, despites it had a sound and video expansion chip onboard. the ps1 version looks so realistic the music & sound effects reminds me of the snes. even so this game can be even ported to the snes, wich capability's seems lichtyears more powerfull then the nes.
Well amusing enough, Trevor's sprites in Symphony of the Night are recycled from some Richter sprites for an abandoned game known as "Castlevania: The Bloodletter"
I really wish they'd someday make a remake of all the classic games with Symphony of the Night graphics and character designs. But that will never happen because of Konami...
Ok, the look is perfect, but whoever did this? Should use an actual upbeat version of "Beginning". Not a ragtime sounding version. :/ @Scissormon: And no, I don't mean you, because you didn't make this.

Play at 1.25x for proper music playback speed.
@SnowLeopard79 No it is actually Trevor's sprite from Symphony of the Night.
@scissormon The only changes to the gameplay are 8-derectional whipping and smother controls

@VenomStryker
"Beginning" is it's name, though way slower than the original NES version.
the music when the boss comes on is dope
no the gameplay didnt change much but its still fun to play

I love your remix of the boss theme!
@legendariosoul You're right. I confused it with the Vampire Killer tune. And yes I like how it sounded on NES better. "=_
is this ever coming out?
im gonna ask the same question then everybody else, where may i find this game ?

Looks like Trevor`s sprite is Richter sprite recycle.

Same for me. I always get problems with VC++

The graphics are great but I notice they make it harder to see bats and bones.

Yeah sorry I noticed my mistake afterwards.

Trevor is called Ralph in Japan.

Please, finish the proyect.
Dead order you ^^
Is it finished?
I totally agree but this doesn't look so bad either
I would prefer a 2.5D remake, preferably a 1080p one, but a PSP 2.5D is alright with me.
Tell that to the creator
NOW THIS IS CASTLEVANIA!! Not that shit they peddle these days.
Speed up the tunes. Waaayyyyy to slow.
Speed it up to 1.25X and u will experience awesome
@@harryhapsh8214 Perfection
Gran trabajo
Looks cool but they messed up the music.
No its that you were comment that someone had misspelled it and you misspelled it yourself. Bloo-letting? You forgot the D bro.
He didnt make the game GOD DAMNIT!!!!
@gokubelmont SO VERY TRUE
@Brandon5l9 since the genius who posted this video wont say where he got it from "pixel prospector . com" search castlevania
Its actually Bloodletting.facepalm
Pretty good, but it needs a better "Beginning" track. This version sounds slow and a bit outdated. :[
In a way I find the slow version kind of suits it well in that it has a more epic 'build up' kind of sense imo
Agreed, the pacing of the track is anemic, and doesn't have the sense of urgency that the NES version brings.
omg i love it
Speed up the music D:
Download link?
it seems great, but the midi song sounds awfully bad... so saturated...
I agree. That sprite looks pretty pathetic too, and the graphics are a mess. Does not look or sound as good as CVIII.
Music sounds like crap
Uau!
the maker chose a horrible version of beginnig =/
That music sucks
doesn't really look that great.
I can't get the copy I downloaded to work.
any suggestions?
So aaa what's the story on that link?
lol
